    The Dutch police has a trust score of 79% according to some European research. When i was young they sometimes joined in when we were playing some football with other friends and neighbors. These are so-called "wijk-agenten" (neighborhood officers in English?). It's part of their job to have good social contact with everybody. And it's having a psychological effect on kids that grow up seeing the police as friends instead of pigs. It's good to hunt down criminals, but even better to prevent people from becoming one.

      Yeah city hall of i think it was Groningen... They barged down the entree door before.

    • @LogiForce86
      @LogiForce86 Рік тому +3

      Wasn't city hall. Was the House of the Province Groningen in which the leaders of the province gather. The farmers just wanted to have a couple of representatives enter and go into an open and friendly dialog with the entire council, but they refused to let even a single representative to come in and talk. So the farmers busted the door to get in, but they were met with the police that already entered via the backdoor. Which then ended up blocking the door, and since the farmers felt these people were pieces of shit for defending the people who refuse any interaction with the effected group by the measure they were about to take, so they ended up giving them a little shower of hay.

    The guys in Grey with the ballistic face shields are from the dsi(dienst speciaale interventies- in English special intervention unit) . It's sort of the Dutch version of swat except the way its made up in the Netherlands is that most of there members are active military and the units are comprised of both blue(police) and green(military) officers. The Dutch marines have there own specialty squadron called m-squadron where all members get trained in anti terrorism and get lended out to the dsi. The dsi is mostly used to make arrests on dangerous fugitives but also have there own recon units and and quick react force for combating terrorism and heavy crime. Currently there are no active female operators and in the history there has only been 1.she died in the line of duty during a raid when she was shot in the neck and since then they invested in the iconic face masks. Pretty badass dudes.

      Not having a law that prevents soldiers from being used on native soil means you don't have cops getting trained like soldiers for mafia busting.

    The reason you won't see a lot of officers draw their gun is because when they do use it, it sets a whole investegation in action to make sure they didn't abuse their power. So the weapons are really only as a last resort.
    And the reason all those guys came storming into the club to that one guy is because it was our AT (arrestation team). So that would come closest to amercian swat teams.

      The guns are for one of two situations:
      They accidentally stumble across the drug mafia (when it's on purpose, the M.E. gets called in)
      Or they're hemmed in in a party riot
      Any other situation, cop never draws a gun.

    I was a rather rowdy teenager been in trouble with the law on a few occasions. The dutch police from my own experiences If you are polite and respectful towards police they are very easy going. I might have caused a bit of scene and I might have punched some dude in the face (for good reason) and I might have tried to run from the cops. But they still let me give my girlfriend a hug and give her the keys of my apartment before being transported to the police station. It was kind of them they didn't have to do that for a drunken idiot of a teenager

    • @newyork6758
      @newyork6758 Рік тому

      What was nice about that? With a child, you always have to be nice to everyone. It doesn't matter what he did, whether he's a murderer, you have to be kind to a child under the age of 22-23 in all of Europe. The fact that children are never blamed for their actions and are always kind to them in the entire Western world is BASIC.

    • @newyork6758

    1.53 Someone shouted 'houdoe' which is the way of saying goodbye or bye in Brabantian. So this was in the province Noord-Brabant.
    The Dutch subtitles were very inaccurate. At one point the subtitles wrote: 'eraan' ('gaan eraan' = are being destroyed) while the person speaking just said 'de raam', the window. It's said in dialect, then people often say 'de' raam instead of 'het' raam which would be the correct article.

    you're right Dutch police isn't as aggressive as American police, there are very strict rules/laws to prevent them from going on a power trip, that's why they may not have peperspray nor a taser on them, I believe even a nightstick is a big NONO (if they wear ANY weapon they may only use it in case of a serious threat..) misuse and abuse gets you into trouble as an officer, and yes, like any normal people you can piss them off and reach a breaking point, but it's a bad choice to do so The Netherlands is not a "I'll sue you" culture, so it not even worth getting your ass handed to you... And last but not least, they're people they like fun just like you and me although on duty alcohol etc. is out of the question, they can still dance, joke around, play games etc. as long as it's within the law, according to th rules and doesn't hurt anyone unless they are the a-hole

    • @Ozymandias1

      Pepperspray is even used by the BOA's (community officers with less authority than cops). Tasers are going to be introduced next year in the National Police. And riot cops use nightsticks and shields.

The swat van in the grassy field was my home town of the Hague which is basically the political capital, there are on average 7 demonstrations per day. Last 2 years more like anti COVID restrictions but also farmers because they get the blame for the methane which comes from the cow shit (simplified story), the hay against the doors which you saw was one of many of those (that clip not in The Hague fyi), they also tried to ram the doors to political buildings and city council buildings and succeeded in some even.
