If you decline the Habitable Worlds Initiative, you usually get around 300 unity. If you accept it, you can get around 1000 energy (and maybe some society research?). The problem comes if there aren't enough planets for you to scan nearby...like if you started in a very crowded area of the galaxy and they're all colonized. Sometimes it's better to decline, but you never really know that beforehand unless you use the "observe" command in the console.
@@hebbu10 It *can* be, but not always. For instance, if you get either the Rubricator relic world (or any other relic world), you will need a lot of energy for clearing blockers. If you get the event that gives you enhanced mining (Delved too Deep, or something) you will also need that energy. Both of those events can happen early in your exploration, so there's no time to have generated all that energy otherwise.
Even worse is if you manage to do it then you get event later to go to worlds to get specimens. Unless its been changed your screwed.99% of time as will want you to go to some random empires planet too.
A stellaris film would have to either •Follow a single Group/Character •A Documentary type •A single episode on each empire and what it is Any other ideas?
Maybe from the viewpoint of a trading caravan, stumbling through the galaxy. Who are the last remaining Humans after earth was cracked by some fanatic purifiers or something.
I think something focused on different characters, and their story, in the form of maybe their journey book. Like the ones we sometimes discover in events. I would say we need some scientist that focuses on making life better for everyone, some admiral sent to kill leviathans and having his boots on the ground very strongly, etc...short stories that covers every possible thing in the game, with stories about empires with different civics and at different periods of a galaxy.
Why not a political drama? following individuals in different states along with the politics and as they grow and deal with galactic issues as they come. imagine game of thrones mixed with "legend of the galactic heros". it'd be ambitious and probably hard to follow each nations story line but if done right it would be incredable. one story would be the politicing between two rival states trying to one up each other, another being a civillian fighting against an opressive government, all with the overhanging threat of a galactic crisis.
13:34 Factions are more important than they seem. High faction approval leads to pops of the corresponding ethic being happier. Factions also let you start the game with an ethic that's strong early, like fanatic xenophobe, and transition out of it when it becomes less useful.
Talking about the "Where ships go to die" bit reminded me of Hardspace: Shipbreaker. I highly recommend it if the idea of breaking down cool spaceships interests you. Its a very fun and relaxing game.
As a guy who used to play console stellaris till I got a good pc it’s like the only good grand strategy game on console the controls just kinda make sense
2:52 gigastructures again if anyone was wondering. Why does a mod about really big things have zombies? Same reason we have a imperial German space cat and galaxy harvesting blocks. To give you a challenge even when you have converted all: - A and B class stars into hyperstructural assembly yards (with one reserved as nicol-dyson beam) - O class into matryoshka brains - All neutron and pulsars into the netronium gigaforge + hyperforge combo - With all remaining stars either being converted into Dyson spheres or star lifters I also recommend getting the ability to harvest planetary mass. Not to use said resource to manufacture attack moons and planets like intended, but to send a message. When you have: a 100k+ alloy income, shipyard count in the hundreds and the capability to drown you foe in battleships as if they where strikecraft. You have truly entered gigastructual engineering’s endgame.
With Stellar Manipulation B-Class is just an O-Class In Progress. And Corvettes are still useful in really REALLY large swarms as 90% evasion cannon fodder.
I had an idea for Stellaris show, with the first season or two being no humans at all, only other species and empires to the point it seems like there won’t be any humans. However there’s constant mention of something happening in another area in the galaxy, both stories of heroism and ruthlessness so it’s never consistent, but it’s never the focal point, just nonchalantly mentioned in conversation. Then the climax of one of the seasons has one of our main characters (who we presumably are invested in by now) stumbles across the fleet of the UNE, ending in a cliffhanger with the UNE ships saying identify yourself and cutting to black. From there it could go any which way since no one is sure of their motives
the first meme is actually a meme starsystem"s feature of the Gigastructure mod, the kerbol system, the kerbals made Eeloo a attack moon but the AI broke(as expected from the hand of kerbals) and broke kerbin, leaving a rouge attackmoon drifting in the Kerbol system
That thumbnail gave me an amazing idea. Stellaris Monopoly. Think about it, make a giant Monopoly board out of stars. I'm not sure about all the details, or how you would define the winner, but it'd be cool.
I got into stellaris videos thanks to you and others and don't have a PC. I was so pumped when I found it on the store. I've been playing for over a year now only on console and I love the game and have all the dlc. At this point the controls are so second nature I just fly through menus and it's a great way to relax after work. Thanks for the content.
At 5:19 my thoughs were "that is a borderlands reference" I suppose a summary is in order. Pandora is the Name of the planet Boderlands 1 and 2 take place on, After the big bad of BL 1 is defeated a purple mineral (Erridium) appears on pandora in BL 2
As someone who plays in console my experience has been pretty good. My only 2 complaints are that we are behind on dlcs for some reason and that usually by year 2250 or 2260 the speed that days go by drops significantly, I'm sure more so than on PC. But still a fun time.
It's not a straight port of the game from PC to console. The devs have to remake a lot of stuff to make it console-friendly, especially all the UI items
To be fair, you can delay for almost 80 years ( my record ) or create the anti aeternum alliance and hope that enought fallen empire join you ( you need a galactic resolution ) Or...delay to open the galactic core and having a massive fleet and then open and say "Hi" to them.

These r/Stellaris reaction videos are very nice. And I'm glad to see that The Red King has made it on your channel. Do you intend to do these kind of videos every now and again?
3:00 that's a special species from gigas and there is an event where a member of that species sends you a message and it's even got audio and... he pretty much sounds like that yeah
When they said just close your borders I was like I had the exact thing happened and I only play with closed borders they can just jump drive in if they got it
Plus, closing borders wouldn't prevent normal hyperlane travel either, if you look closely there's a hyperlane directly from the other empire to the inner systems.
