    Huge thanks to Elegoo for making this video possible! Check out the Neptune 3 Max Printer here:
    www.elegoo.com...
    motiongen.io/ is the free web app I use to play around with mechanism
    You can purchase the files for the fully 3D printable Strandbeest here:
    engineezy.com/...
    For the rest of my downloads, look no further than here:
    engineezy.com
    I also have a patreon: / engineezy
    Also, the electric screwdriver I used to assemble and disassemble this thing many times is a game changer: geni.us/f6oJ
    This is the filament I use: geni.us/sdT9QBj
    Shout out to Mike from ‪@wesselscreations‬ and Jonathan from ‪@JGazze‬ for helping me with the drone shots!
    Based off the original invention by Theo Jansen, the Strandbeest is a mechanical walking creature that harnesses the power of the wind to walk along the beach. This particular version is robotic, using a GPS and Compass to navigate its way through the world.

    Idea: give it a neck and a scoop so it can pick up sand every now and then, as if it were looking for something. You could even have a mesh that filters it out, so it can collect trash and rocks.

      Yes, I was thinking the same thing, it will be an environmentally friendly beach cleaner and if you put a solar panel on it for the battery of the servos it would not be maintained, it would be brutal, causing the institutes of the coastal towns themselves to do it in their classes , a whole circle...

    I think it would be really cool to try to keep the original intent of these being wind powered alive, I really liked the windmill on the one, It would be really neat to have windmills and then electronics operating a clutch sort of system to the legs to control where it goes, maybe even giving the beest a way to use the wind to walk against it! To further attempt to make it self contained the clutch could be powered by solar. regardless your project is really cool, I remember being obsessed with these in the early 2000s and wanting to build one myself!

    So going back and printing some of your other designs like clock etc that I bought and couldn't get to print on previous printers.

    I didn't see it asked in the comments but how fast can you make it go?? Is the limitation on the motor or is the path that the walking legs make?? It seems that it would be able to go faster on a paved surface rather than on beach sand. If you add a variable speed motor and sensors to it would that make it possible for the machine to vary its speed according to the surface. Just fascinated by this.

    • @Engineezy
      @Engineezy  10 місяців тому +1

      For this version the limitation is the motors! With some beefier motors and motor drivers it could go much faster, but then of course the strength of the parts becomes a factor!

    I bought a hundred pack of skate bearings on Amazon a while back, so I could theoretically make this, but I'm just about convinced that they'd rust away into nothing as soon as they were exposed to sea air.
    The PLA on the other hand, that's not going *anywhere!* Just last night, I checked on a chimney I 3D printed for my birdhouse years ago from a 3kg spool of white PLA, and despite being out in the elements for literal years, it looks the same as the day I printed it. (cough "biodegradable" cough)

    Can anyone else relate to Strand-E when it’s just just one of those days where your too tired to do anything but not tired enough to sleep so you just wander around without aim.

    Well-done marvelous design.been for a while I am following your channel maybe it's not the right place but want to ask 2 questions :
    1.how do you design your gear assembly is that with a special soft like geartrax or inventor or what?
    2. I know you have a video for you C clips trick but I can't find it could address it for me
    By thanks for you beautiful creative features it really makes me speechless

      For gears I use a gear library (which you can download for free from my website). Not sure exactly what trick you mean?

    • @hosseinpeyvandi3992
      @hosseinpeyvandi3992 11 місяців тому

      I meant the c clips that you usually use for assembling Stuf. Any video or tutorial for printing them in different sizes

    You really need to get yourself a vice or press, it makes inserting the bearings much easier and less traumatic to the bearing.

    I think it's quiet impressive that you do say 'Janssen' in Dutch constantly (because you said strandbeest is too hard). Theo Janssen is a hero of mine. I ones look into of I could get an internship from him, but his website says he doesn't work with interns unfortunately

    Do the files on your site include the places to put the motors as well as the fan?
    Would definitely be interested in voth versions, even if sold separately.
    Would be fun to learn the electronics parts to make my own unique rc car.

    • @Engineezy

      The files are just for the rotor powered version! Maybe I can add that to the files 🤔

    Build another one and join them together 1 infront the other, put a platform on top. So you can stand on it or put a chair on it.
