Ithe first time that I heard Mike sing this song about 10 years ago. I put this song in my favorites. When I have a bad day or just want to relax, I listen to this song. Mike, you have a great voice. You need to keep making music.
Mike, you are the first one I've heard that actually hits the "breathy" parts correctly. Your voice is perfect for this, and you did a fantastic job. Make the hair on my arms stand up, I loved it man!
Such a dedicated work with a lot of passion and respect for the original artist. Every detail is well interpreted and beautifully and gently put together.
So many mediocre and subpar covers of this song... but dude, you nailed it! Love your voice, love your rendition, love the fact that you didnt screw the pooch during the 'whatcha say' part. So many people drop the ball there. You didn't hit the high "tears" but damn man that sounded great anyways... loved it. And the power right after... man, you 'get it' with this song.
The original song uses a Vocoder which is an easier way of doing what you did. Now, let me tell you this is by far the best cover of this song I've ever heard, you did a great job!
@@dbnois3 Please read the description again and check on youtube to see what a vocoder is. He layered different audio tracks with robot effect on each one, the vocoder does all of that live at the moment.
Right on right on! It always thrills me when I meet a metal head who's just as much into other genres as he or she is the more aggressive stuff. I'll definitely be posting some metal vocal stuff as well in the future. Most likely playthrough videos of my bands Rest Among Ruins and Ordinance. Anyway thanks so much for watching and thanks for the sub :D
Imogen Heap created that "robot-like" effect using a vocoder, but seeing how very close your sound is to the original, it's incredible that you were able to achieve this using "just" Melodyne (without a vocoder). Big thumbs up. :)
really good, even if its a vocoder, it shines through that your pitch is spot on. Gave me goosebumbs. What ever happened to the florence and the machine-cover?
Ridiculously amazing. This needs to have more views. Bravo. It's amazing how harmonics strangely generate camaraderie and poignancy in humans, evidenced by all the comments.
I saw this come up on UA-cam and I thought to myself, "yeah, right, what guy can cover this song?". Boy was I surprised. You blew this song away and it sounded incredible. Nice job!
So it's two in the morning and I'm supposed to be up at six. But I just heard this for the first time and I'm not gonna ignore how beautiful it is. Your voice is so soothing and something about it makes me feel like I'm being comforted. There are parts where I just wish I wasn't alone so I could be listening to this with someone else and have them be excited with me This song makes me feel the way that these hours do. Where it's between being the night and the morning. Depending on if you look at the clock or at the sky. But also reliant on how awake you feel. This song makes me just... Idk... It makes me feel something. To just feel anything is a beauty. But to feel something so pleasant that you can't name it... That's beautiful
Beautiful, probably one of the best covers of this songs; it captures the majority of the harmonies and tonalities of the original to preserve the haunting loveliness that Imogen Heap meant this song to be. Well done sir.
I just spent the last couple hours listening to what must have been 30 different versions of this song, and this is by far the best cover I've heard. GREAT JOB!
Holy chills. I can't even describe. Just listened to the entire Disclosure album, and then this amazingly passionate cover. Mr. Semesky, you have talent - and so does your entire band members.
Absolutely amazing cover, I heard the perfection of every note! Nobody has ever nailed Imogen's Hide and Seek the way you just did. You just got yourself a subscriber!
The reverb and echo on the official version is beautiful, but I never expected it to be so good without them as well. Did I forget to mention that your voice is phenomenal? Insane control man... every single note and tone that you sing with are intentional and fitting. Props! Subscribed.
This is one of the few covers/remixes I've heard that actually doesn't butcher or take away from the song. I thought it was fantastic, as it kept the originality and essence of the song, with subtle differences. Enjoyed this perhaps as much as listening to the original. Great job, you done it justice.
I first came across this cover years ago and LOVED it. Coincidentally came across it again. I just can't get over how good it is. My absolute favorite part is 0:24 because of how sighingly he sings "crop circles", and the gentle, yet prominent vibrato on "carpet" immediately after. This is just so damn good.
Playing this and the original at the same time will give you a guaranteed eargasm.
That's genius.
it was amazing
/watch?v=zPriM1aQvxg
Holy shit. I had to do it and it's the best thing I've ever heard 😱
Wow thanks for the tip!
I just saw that this broke 100K views! Thanks so much for watching guys!
Amazingly done man, *shivers*
Wow. That is amazing. Just amazing voice and talent.
+Mike Semesky nearly 200k now

ikr
That has always been my favorite 1 second piece of music since I heard the original lol
Over a year later its still pure bliss 😭😭😭😭😍😍😍😍😍

I launched this version and the original w/ lyrics..
The combination is beautiful..

Rhapsody3991
omg gave me the chills
Genius
how did you do it?
I couldn't help but sing along and for some reason I started crying. I don't know what it is, but damn, what a cover.
same , I like listening to this when I'm just alone and something bad happens.
It's a pretty emotionally intense song. Made my eyes wet too.
Thank you so much for sharing that. It means so much :) And yes, my buddy Greg Macklin did such an amazing job mixing the audio!
Such a dedicated work with a lot of passion and respect for the original artist.

Danwrite92 hit it in his video! Also a very good cover
fooloof wanna bet? :o
Love how you stayed so close to the original while still added a touch of your own! Beautiful!
Mike, You Beautiful Creature... Well Done. It is a pleasure to listen to.
I'm so glad you found your way into Intervals...brings a tear to me eye. Your cleans are right up there with Daniel Tompkins.
The original song uses a Vocoder which is an easier way of doing what you did. Now, let me tell you this is by far the best cover of this song I've ever heard, you did a great job!
he didn't use a vocoder? that's a wow
He did use a vocoder... it’s very obvious to hear that he did.
@@ChrisLaupama Please read the description. He went a different route cause he didn't know what she used.
Abd El Rahman Makram the description actually says that he did use a vocoder

And on top of that, what he did was probably a lot more painstaking, doing each track individually.
You sir deserve my subscription. Best Cover, I hope more people begin to appreciate your work.
I watched this the whole way through just so i could hear the ex vocalist of intervals sing "hmm whacha say" and it was worth
You are most welcome to Ever Forthright sir.........I cant wait to hear it .
I love this song and this is the ONLY cover that does it justice. Props man!
seriously, man, I had chills the whole way through this. Bravo.
really good, even if its a vocoder, it shines through that your pitch is spot on. Gave me goosebumbs. What ever happened to the florence and the machine-cover?
There's only one part that most people come here for and you my friend, have made yourself number 1 so far! Gorgeous rendition on that specific part.
Loved this cover! Love this song from Imogen Heap!
Replayed this so many times. So obsessed, better than the original and better than any cover I've heard. New favourite song. Ever.
Hey, Mike! It's been years and I've never said hello. I cry beautiful years when I hear you sing this song. Much love, man. - A fan from Cleveland
So is there anything this dude can't sing? Lorde? Imogen Heap? Dude can even do AMAZING death metal growls!
Ridiculously amazing. This needs to have more views. Bravo. It's amazing how harmonics strangely generate camaraderie and poignancy in humans, evidenced by all the comments.
Marissa shooting Trey. Ahhhh, yes... I do remember The O.C.
Great cover, sir. Amazing voice.
I love the oc!!!
I've been watching this video at least once a month at this point and it's never old this is way to good man like this is insane
2:53 my favorite moment
I saw this come up on UA-cam and I thought to myself, "yeah, right, what guy can cover this song?". Boy was I surprised. You blew this song away and it sounded incredible. Nice job!
I want this cover in my music library. I prefer this to the original.

This is one super rendition of a rather amazing tune . Great Job Mike . :) !! I needed to get back to this song . Thank You .
perfect. love your shirt too, dude.
Amazing. Thank you very much for your art. :) Cheers from Brazil.
God I love this cover, is too beautiful, how did you get that efect with the voice? Is autotune or something like that?
too bad you can't read
The software is called melodyne
Melodye is sort of autotune, its a programm to check and correct the pitch to absolute perfection and create some effects
thanks for explaining how you did it!
I absolutely love this!!! :D :D this is amazing!!!
This is by far the best cover of this I have ever heard. Bang on! Thank you!
Cam someone make a duet of mike semesky and imogen heap's hide and seek together? I can't find it on soundcloud :(
Beautiful, probably one of the best covers of this songs; it captures the majority of the harmonies and tonalities of the original to preserve the haunting loveliness that Imogen Heap meant this song to be. Well done sir.

Wow, this song is more widespread than I thought. Great job and I hope to hear more of your work.
I have heard the voice of a god
Hikaru Kimaru He's not Morgan Freeman...
Um Morgan Freeman isn't a god, he's so much more than a god.
Hikaru Kimaru Maybe that was his plan all along. God works in mysterious ways :p
and its teling me to see 02:53
+Hikaru Kimaru No, sorry that was just the auto tune. but I t still sounded good. You should hear Imogen Heap sing that :D
This song never fails to give me feels and his cover was no exception. Great work, sir.
