In this week's short, Marshal Davout teaches #napoleonbonaparte that even though he wins battles, his soldiers can still die from various unpleasant factors.
During the #napoleonicwars, Napoleon's Old Guard were his most experienced soldiers. They (initially) needed to be 35 years of age with ten years of experience in the battle field. Unfortunately, experience levels went into decline when most started to die off. (I wonder why?)
The Young Guard consisted of the best new intake of conscripts and volunteers. As the wars raged on, the service and age requirement become less and less....

I actually expected Davout to be very stern and grumpy, sometimes prickly. But in this version he was a bit softened out, but yet serious enough. Although I still like this video.

1:33 that guard looks more like q moyenne Guard grenadier (moyenne Guard was the middle guard most people forget them) and I would suggest having lannes in place davout because he was with Napoléon the most of the time, overall very good vid

The uniform is that of a line grenadier. They were one of the two elite companies in every line battalion. It’s a simple error in a show made for comedic effect, so I’m not knocking it for that. It’s overall very well made.
