I love tampons (sorry if this is tmi😂) i got my first period and used tampons before pads. They are SO comfy and convenient and i didn't even have a hard time and just popped it in without a mirror or anything so if anyone is scared of them don't be because they're really easy and convenient

I just put my first one in and she’s absolutely right! I thought I’d be messing with it for 5-10 mins but it only took one second? It might take longer the drier you are, but I was pretty dry and completely unprepared and it was still super easy and fast I was like wtf. Now actually ejecting the applicator took a second bc the directions on the box were so terrible, lol. But if you get a good enough grip on it, you’ve got it.

Pretty awesome advice overall. I'd like to add: for the love of god, if you are scared to insert a tampon for the first time, DO NOT use the tiny ob brand tampons that come without applicators. I felt more comfortable with this because they are so small, much smaller than a regular tampon with an applicator. But, the applicator is your friend. When I tried the ob for the first time, it took me like an hour and it was painful, because the rough dry tampon was uncomfortable, and that scared me more, and then I wasn't relaxed like you should be. A normal tampon will fit perfectly fine, and shouldn't be painful if you follow the advice here. Just, again, I do not recommend those for a first time user.

I´m 13 and I was really struggling with the use of pads during my taekwondo classes, I finally decided to try a tampon and this happened:
1st day: It took me 3 hours to insert a tampon, it hurt a lot. When it was in I was really happy. Also, it was a bit difficult to take out
2nd day: I used pads the whole day and at night and I finally decided to give it another try, this time it was SOOOO easy and comfortable, I´m not going back to pads :)
(The ones I used have no applicator so I just wanted to tell u that, they're easy and way more comfortable than pads)

I put in a tampon for the first time about 15 minutes ago. I’ve been trying for over 3 years now and it has changed my life. I’m a swimmer so I’ve been making excuses, but now I can finally swim! It may feel weird at first but you just need to do it. Right after I did it, I fainted. Make sure you have somewhere to sit if that happens to you. I hope this comment helped because the comments here really helped me.

chambie loves if it hurts to remove it that means the tampon isn’t full, and if you had used it for it’s full 8 hours and it still wasn’t full, you should do a smaller size. (There’s larges, xxx larges, mediums, smalls, ect)

    • @sanaxx7635
      @sanaxx7635 2 роки тому

If you have vaginismus the best thing to help you is dilators. I had vaginismus and they helped me enormously. You have to try inserting them every day when you’re not on your period. You only have to insert them in a little bit and they’re not painful or intimidating at all. You can’t even feel them. In England they’re free on our national health service. But they’re not expensive if you have to buy them from a pharmacy or drug store. Mediation helps as well.

Okay guys, this is my first period and I did it! I’m a dancer and summers on its way and I didn’t want to not be able to swim so I stuck it out. It’s not hard, use a mirror, for the first time I find it easiest to squat over a mirror until you can get the hang of it, find your hole and just push it in, it’s going to feel weird but push it IN ALL THE WAY and do the rest of directions of pushing the lever and everything. Mine was not in all the way so I had to use my finger to stick it up more, unpleasant, very, but do it and you won’t be able to feel a thing. You got this girls! And no it doesn’t hurt.

So after watching your videos and reading a lot on the web. I decided to purchase my first tampon box (Tampax Pearl) at the age of 31 and two kids normal delivery. For most of my life and after my first pregnancy my period was a non issue for me. But after many years, I had my 2nd child and my periods became A LOT heavier. Especially the first 3 days, my period is so heavy that I wear the overnight pads as regular pads which started making it REALLY gross and unbearable. I have a desk job and summer months ughhhh it was just painful being full of blood front to back... so I took the plunge and got my first box a few days ago. My first try was a breeze and I did leak 2x but I'm getting the hang of it. Thank you so much for the tips and info 😆

I’m 23. I’ve never put in a tampon before... until today. I watched a few videos to prepare myself, and I feel like they made me think it was harder and scarier than it was. When I tried it, it went in immediately even though I was dry. I was like huh, wait. That was it? Actually pushing the trigger for the applicator was a bit more difficult, because I couldn’t get a good grip on it to push in. Make sure to have one hand to hold the edge of the end of the tampon part with 2 fingers and use two fingers on your other hand to eject the plastic applicator and push the tampon in. For some reason I thought it would feel weird for the cotton to be pushed in further with the trigger, but it’s not. It’s so easy?! I’ve been missing out on period hygiene and freedom from messes and blood outside if my vagina for my whole life! Definitely go in at an angle, and if you’re dry like I was, it might feel a bit chafing, but not painful and not really uncomfortable. It only goes in about as far as 1-1.5 inchs in (for the innermost part) before you pull the trigger. If you can stick a finger up there up to your second finger joint, you can do this. Once it’s in you, you can’t even feel it after a minute or two. Actually I feel the cotton string in my pants more than the tampon itself. Maybe because I’m shaved down there and I’m not used to there being a string in my pants?

Um I'm probably weird for admitting this but I was excited to put a tampon in for the first time (which was this morning) and I had no problem whatsoever putting it in because I knew where everything was and how everything worked and I'm literally only 10 and I only started my period in June so this is like only my 4th period and the only thing I asked my mom for was pads and tampons LOL. Also we have never learned or talked about periods in school and I'm going into my first year of middle school in 3 days so um yea XD

Day 1: it’s 8:30 pm and I failed. I tried twice and it hurt... I don’t know if I was just not getting it in the hole? And just pushing on my skin.
At one point I thought I did get the tip in but then that’s when it was hurting badly. And it kept feeling like the center of the tampon where the points of the plastic sort of meet, was nicking me... I was low-key freaking out, one might say I had a panic attack, idk probably not. But I did cry cuz I really wanted it to work so I could work out but whatever. in conclusion, let’s just say my hole hurts and let’s call it a day. We’ll get em tomorrow.

I got my first try in but I got scared I would get toxic shock so I pulled it out and again a little while later but couldn't get it. I got my third in and it felt weird and it wasn't in all the way so I pulled it out and it hurt so I put water on it and it came out. I put another one in the next day and it was all the way in but felt sooooooooooo uncomfortable and I could feel it. Two hours later I pulled it out in a Walmart bathroom and it wasn't full so I put water on it because I thought I would get toxic shock. I put on a pad. I have a question, if it was in all the way, why did I feel it bc it was reallllllllly uncomfortable but it was all the way in. Why? This was yesterday and today and it was only my 3rd period

Ok first of all, Toxic Shock Syndrome is very rare, and just to clarify, Toxic Shock Syndrome is where the blood from the tampon spreads into your blood stream, making you very ill. It isn't where you freak out from putting it in.
So you said that you put in a tampon all the way in and it was uncomfortable. If you can feel the tampon inside you, and it hurts, then it is NOT all the way up. To help you get it all they way up, make sure your relaxing when you put it in, and before you put it up, if you feel comfortable, try put one finger up the hole to see which direction the tampon should go. This helped me so much, because I used to put it in like straight back, and it should slant upwards.
Lol I remember trying a tampon for the first time, it hurt so bad, and when I took it out it was dry, and it hurt even more cuz my vagina was already aching from shoving the tampon the wrong way.

It probably hurt because you might think you put it all the way, but you actually didn't. If you are putting it in sitting down, try putting your foot on the toilet seat and spread your legs as much as you can. I know it can be hard if you're wearing pants, but try putting your pants down all the way to your ankle on the foot you put up on the toilet seat and down to your knee on the other. I also had this problem the first two times I used a tampon, but when I learned to put it in the right way, it feels much more comfortable.

I started my period at 9, and started off with pads, but then at 12, I wanted to try tampons for the first time, my mom didn’t want me to use them because I was too young, but I was already completely comfortable with my period, having had it for a few years already, so yay, now I get to use tampons🙂

When I would always put it in I stopped right before the guiding part went in and it always felt uncomfortable bc I didn’t feel like it was in all the way but I knew it was bc that’s how far I thought it should go. But I guess after watching this you’re supposed to put it so the guiding part goes in too so I’ll try this out next time and see if it helps!

I have the Kotex "click" tampons in regular size.i could not find light.can I use that my first time on a heavier flow day?

Yeah, I think using it on a heavy day would work just fine. Just make sure you don't try to pull it out before it's full. But also don't leave it in for more than 8 hours.
