Outstanding. I have been trying to explain to my current employer the importance of video (being a magazine) they are not 100% behind it. The way you just explained this will help solidify my point
I had just started working on a variation of this but didn't think to include google my business info or the citation data. I have been working to implement a video on every page, specific for every location and keyword. I think this is huge. Thanks again!
Thanks Wes! I love and appreciate your candid and helpful advice you provide. Just wanted to let you know that you're doing a great job 👍🏻...especially for us newbies! You are one of my top go-to's for our website advice! Thanks again!
Hi Wes, and thanks for sharing another helpful video. When you added the backlinks to the GMB profile + reviews at the end of the video description, what url reduction tool do you use? Thanks, Delfino
There are some services that make videos of the highlights of a post or page using the headers. I bought an LTD on one once and it's helpful to get them done faster and still useful to readers.
Wes, how did you generate the links for the reviews that you inserted in the description section of the youtube video. And I see at 3:55 in your video, the three reviews all have the same URL. Is that correct?
Should I embed a video using HTML (which makes the page heavier) or should I use a module such as Ultimate Add-Ons for Beaver Builder or PowerPack for better results? (Ps. UABB has something called Structured Data included in their video module).
I don’t use Wordpress but use Webflow and video imbeds killed my page speed. But I used a tool called embedly and it fixed the page speed issue. I know a lot of big companies use it so it’s worth a try if you have issues :)
Great info. I add some of my videos with an article on my site but not all. It is time consuming but I think it is worth it. I will add more form now on. Thank you fr this info. BTW. I have a video about why training a puppy using treats is a bad idea on my channel.
Great video, Wes! Can you answer 1 question for me? I have one video on a homepage that I "self-host" rather than link to UA-cam for a specific reason. It's a looping clip that I don't want all the text showing up in the margins of the video when it comes from UA-cam. Know what I mean? Am I going to get the same SEO optimization by putting all this into the video description if I self-host the video? Thanks!
Hey James, unfortunately not. There are ways of customizing what happens at the end of the video on UA-cam, and self hosting your own videos isn't a good idea for speed issues alone. Not to mention that excluding your video from youtube cuts off a lot of potential views you could get over On youtube too.
Hey James, in theory its better to host on UA-cam, i ve seen people host locally and optimize it to be less heavy (.webm instead of mp4, compressed, not taking a request to google server, etc.). The easy way is Yt. They optimize and do all the job for you + you will save bandwith for the hosting
No, for SEO it should be a UA-cam video. I mean it COULD keep people on your page longer, but you'd want the extra SEO power YT can give you too. Cheers!
Great question Steve... honestly UA-cam works best bc of the extra SEO benefit you get from Google owning UA-cam. But no matter where the video comes from, you can still get the benefits of increased engagement/time on page.
Yes video does help keep people on a page longer, but Google also looks at bounce rate, which means you also need to have that visitor go to another page on the site before leaving. Video alone won't do a lot, and certainly won't get you backlinks (more than likely you will get those backlinks to your video on UA-cam, because you wouldn't serve a video from your own website which would just slow it down (bad for rankings). You also need to have the correct video schema in place, which 99% of people would not know how to add that, let alone even know what it is. So, simply adding a video will not increase your rankings on your website, but might help your video to show more in UA-cam search.
Thanks for the info. I have a question. I don't have any experience with making or editing videos. Do you have any advice, courses to follow, free programs,.. to make high end videos? Thanks in advance!
The amount of actionable advice one can take from these feels criminal. Thanks for making these AWESOME videos!
Just take what you can take. Thanks for watching.

I've been adding customers links/addresses to my videos to help their SEO, but not my own. Doh! Great tip and I'll get my reviews on too.

Which LTD?

Hey Andres, this is too technical a question for me, sorry! I just add the video player widget in elementor and paste in the YT url.
I don’t use Wordpress but use Webflow and video imbeds killed my page speed.

Thanks Patryk!
Great tip, do you think embedding a video from your Instagram will have any effect?
No, for SEO it should be a UA-cam video. I mean it COULD keep people on your page longer, but you'd want the extra SEO power YT can give you too. Cheers!
So when you say video you really mean UA-cam?
Does this work with vimeo or wistia or self-hosted embedded videos?
Great question Steve... honestly UA-cam works best bc of the extra SEO benefit you get from Google owning UA-cam. But no matter where the video comes from, you can still get the benefits of increased engagement/time on page.
I have tried this. Good 1,500~2,000+ articles with relevant video(s) on the article. With little to no boost or help with Google for doing that.
Thank you Wes.
You're welcome!
Great idea! Definitely going to be implementing this on my site

Hey 1 doubt, Does UA-cam count views if i embed a video in my webiste?
Yes, as long as the video doesn't auto-play.
Why are my articles disappearing and appearing in Google
No idea what you mean
