the galor class cruiser gets more powerful over the course of star trek notably 3 blocks, Block 1 is the early TNG, Block 2 is early DS9 and Block 3 domion enhanced during the war. i would say that you are probably fighting the block 2 due to block 1 having pinkish weapons.
Type III was being built at the start of TNG as the Cardassians answer to the newer Nebula Class, the Type II was a mainstay during the Fed-Card Wars of 2350-2360s but only rated as a Destroyer in that era. Even before the Dominion, the Type III was built as a good standard cruiser and it outmatched the TNG era Excelsiors by a fair margin. In particular they had good shields. All Type IIs and IIIs were refit during the DW, with lots of the new build "Type IV." The major improvements were a major upgrade in power generation, relays, computers and better emitters that in turn led to a giant leap in the effectiveness of their weapons. Most notably with the heavy SWD cannon that used the Deflector. The new heavy weaponry combined with the already good shields, armor and rugged space-frame made the Galor IIIs and IVs really effective medium cruisers during the War. Keldons received two upgrades: 1) The Obsidian Advanced Keldons became standard across the fleet prior to Dominion membership, and 2) These Advanced Keldons were upgraded again, and served as effective heavy cruisers/battlecruisers. In the episode "Valiant," the Defiant Class Valiant was completely disabled fighting a single Keldon, and only survived because they made repairs faster. Compare this to the already sturdy performance of the Obsidian Keldon in "Defiant" and it is obvious that the Keldon also took some big leaps.

😨Jeepers Admiral.. all those ships non stop phasers was wicked.. and didn't know the Galors phasers had long busts.. wow.. and one thing love about the Defiant, the pulse phasers were wicked.. and in my Encounters game no phasers but after seeing in your games and the show had a phaser so that helped.. I would say too with many armor would be close but Cardassians were out for blood eeeh.. crikey.. still great battle and if only can fire while cloaked.. hmm !😊🖖

The Cardassian ships are less advanced than those of the Federation, except for the forward beam weapon.
On screen evidence suggests it's the most powerful beam weapon in the series.
Hmmm, definitely no slouch, but I see no indication that it is more powerful than any other main weapon from the local powers.
More accurately, weapons in Star Trek do as much damage as the shot or scene requires, so that supposed body of evidence is entirely incoherent.

@@senatusU.S.S. Odyssey. Type 10 phasers were NOT one-shotting Jem HAdar Fighters. Cardassian forward beams absolutely do.
They one shotted a BOP, Dominion Fighter frigates, two shotted Breen warships, RIPPED straight through the shields of a modernized Miranda class. Type 10's don't do that.

@@Thy_Boss Yeah, sometimes a BoP can tank a few hits from the Defiant's cannons, other times those same shot obliterate said BoP or Jem'Hadar fighter.

Yeah, the ones coming out of the Orisis system had all been upgraded by the Obsidian Order.

In KM, there are a variety of Galors that can be used, including (but not limited to) KM Stock, DW Alliance (Blackrook32), UniMod (with some variation), and a few others😅

Amusingly, I was considering an April Fools Galaxy Class with Plot Armor (aka Shields renamed and boosted), with the warp core radius increased (like on the Legacy Class) so that a light tap will make it go BOOM).😂😂😂

I love Star Trek technology. The notion that the equivalent of ten thermonuclear weapons are going off 20 meters from your face at any given time while conducting yourself in battle as a Starfleet officer is terrifying.
What it shown to happen and these numbers never added up.
In the episode kira did say the defiant had a chance against all those galors but not the ships in front "even the defiant can't win against those odds" I rekon the 1st battle was realistic but add 3 keldons the defiant is stuffed

So canonically, the Defiant should be able to destroy a Galor even more quickly than in that first battle, based on how quickly it disabled a Keldon, however the second battle was far more accurate overall given the fact the Cardassian ships can pack a punch and they said in the episode that 10 to 1 would be too much for the Defiant.
Yes. It's been awhile since I've seen "Defiant," but little D did smoke one enhanced Keldon.

However, that Keldon did hurt the Defiant a little if memory serves, so in spite of the Riker duplicate's confidence, had he fought more than three of those simultaneously, I think the Defiant could have won BUT with serious, even critical, damage.
Subjectively speaking, I think six Galors would also be too much for the Defiant.
@@senatus Yes completely agree. They said in the episode that 3 Keldons would be a “short fight”, but in reality from what we saw they would definitely take some damage.
I actually think that new Defiant in game would be perfect if the shields were halved.

In the final battles the pulse phasers take to long to recharge vs the show. In the first battles you should be able to fire 4 quantums in rapid succession like the show. Both so close to the show accurate Defiant.
The Defiant can fire weapons on the show whenever the shot or scene requires the Defiant to fire weapons, which is as it should be.

Yeah, 10 to 1... they'll collapse your shields eventually, but those crappy torpedoes they have couldn't hit water if they fell out of a boat 😆.

Its still 10 ships, armed with charged particle weapons powered by am/m reactors. The tech advantage would need to be obscene to just shrug that.
A Galaxy Class is matched by 3 Galors....so 4 or 5 would be the Defiants limit considering its ablative armour and heavier firepower and maneuverability. A Pair of Keldons could definitely bring the Defiant to heel
Probably right, two of the Keldon Advanced. Maaaybe three. But, as you know, the vanilla Galors in this game are basically like Galor Type Is. Crappy. Defiant could never come close to defeating 10 of the very respectable Galor Type IIIs from 2367, or even Type IIs. They would be lucky to survive 2-3 of the Dominion War Type IIIs with their SWD Lances.
Second battle is like how far is the planets atmosphere?

Even Kira told Tom Riker that with the Defiant's new armor it could NOT stand up to that many ships. I mean 10 Galor and 6 Keldon class Cardassian ships. I remember there were at least 5 or 6 Keldon class in the episode "Defiant" but yeah no way would the Defiant be able to withstand that odds.
The auto subtitles spelled ten cardassian galors as ten kardashian gals😅

Cardassian ships are no more armed that most other basic ships, the Romulan and Klingon ships are clearly superior.
Yes, but how many of the Obsidian Keldons could the Defiant take on? I think, no more than two. Maybe three.
A direct hit from 2 quantums disabled one. 4 quantums would probably outright destroy it. I say it needs 3 Keldons to appreciably damage the Defiant and maybe force a retreat.
@@Th0ughtf0rce That Keldon actually took a full phaser barrage that didn't do any serious systems damage, and four quantums before it was disabled. That is the most punishment we see an enemy ship take from the Defiant without being destroyed. But the Defiant is also better armored than standard Defiant Class ships, and oddly enough the Keldons are very fast, faster than the Defiant at impulse and warp. In "Valiant" Captain Watters talks about fighting a single Keldon Class (he refers to a battlecruiser, and as Galors are destroyers and cruisers, Keldon is the only canon Cardassian ship that qualifies) which was enough to completely disable the Valiant while also being disabled. So, I would say THE Defiant could probably take on three to four, A Defiant, two.
@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 I agree with the overall assessment, but 2 quantum hits. The first 2 missed. Although not official, I like to think Keldons carry torpedoes, maybe plasma ones.
@@Th0ughtf0rce The first quantum salvo of two hit the Keldon's ventral shield, that is a hit. A shield hit is still a hit. The second salvo on its dorsal port rear. Oddly enough it is the only time we see ship not torn in half by quantums, other than the Jem Hadar Dreadnaught.
I agree, it is likely the Galors and Keldons carry torpedoes, as I always maintained they did even during TNG. We see a Galor Type III use torpedoes in "Ensign Ro," which according to the VFX script were torpedoes. But, the quality of Cardassian torpedoes greatly improved during the Dominion War. Their new Plasma Torpedoes are rated as more powerful than the Type VI Photon.
@crownprincesebastianjohano7069 ok fair point. Also, I think the Cardassian plasma torps were based on Romulan ones. In general more destructive than photons but slower and less accurate.

I am pretty sure the Remastered has it wrong, the Defiant stands up to Borg Cubes, which are easily individually worse then 10 Cardassian Galors, the remastered is implying that 10 Galors are more dangerous then a single Borg Cube, which that is not close to being true.
The first fight is more in line with what the Defiant can actually handle.
Sorry if I've missed it but have you done one between the Defiant and a vor'cha class Klingon cruiser before. I'm rewarching The Way of the Warrior and curious.
The vanilla Galors are awful. Those are basically Galor Type Is from the 2320s. The second battle, with the better Galor mods, would roughly resemble pre-War Galor Type IIs, that are basically destroyers.

First of all the goal of that episode was never about fighting a one vs 10 battle and besides you you forgot about the three ship from the Obisdian Order. The goal of that episode was to capture the Marquise without destroying the Defiant.

I thought 2-3 Galors were on par with a Galaxy, so seems off.....
I am thinking those Galors have a bigger target to hit with a Galaxy Class instead of the smaller Defiant Class, also the pulse phasers from the Defiant may be more powerful than the standard Type 10 phasers on a Galaxy Class. Though 2 - 3 Galor classes might still not be enough to top a Galaxy Class, considering during the first episode where we saw one against the Enterprise the battle was over in about a minute and that was the Enterprise holding back to only disable Gul Macet's ship instead of destroy it.

Wow that is sad the Galor are much stronger then this who ever did the balance really hated the cardassians.
If Stock KM Galors, the scaling of those days was wildly different than the last decade (the last KM update was 2011).
In general, Galor ships were noted for being weaker than a Galaxy Class one-on-one, though safe guess they got (limited) boosts from Dominion alliance (though I don't see the Dominion giving Cardassians free reign on their tech)
The British version seems more plausible.
