Footage from a visit to Pendon Museum Autumn 2019. Pendon is located in Oxfordshire UK and comprises 3 main area-
The Vale Scene - a masive landscape based in the vale of the White Horse with highly detailed / realistic buildings, railways, people & wildlife
The Dartmoor Scene - with trains crossing the iconic Brunel timber viaduct and passing along the sea wall
Madder Valley Railway - the first fully scenic model railway and dating from the 1930’s
The footage was taken during a visit with the protective glass screens lowered to allow easier photography.
Well worth a visit, full details and opening times can be found on the Pendon Museum website
This layout should be awarded the most realistic layout in the world.
Votre travail mérite d'être connu et reconnu tellement votre réseau est magnifique.
Merci pour ce dépaysement
Stunningly realistic. Congratulations to the builders.
The movement of the trains is slightly jumpy. Is that the fault of the camera?
Gods wonderful Railway..... I have been to Pendon many times all I can say is it is so realistic I wanted to minturise myself to stand on the platforms and buildings to do some nostalgic train spotting.
Absolutely amazing layout best I've seen.
I love that you run them at scale speed; it always adds to the magic for me.
That is awesome - thats how I would like a model railway - long sloping hills looks so lifelike - well done :)
Pendon isn't so much a model railway as a model of countryside that happens to have a railway running through it.
One of the best exhibits I've ever been to.
This has to be one of the coolest British layouts I’ve seen so far.
The thing this layout has got is ROOM. That tunnel portal and the hill is so realistic. Well done fellas.
Diorama layout at its best! Very nice!
layout with loads of details.Take care.
Hallo
Sehr schöne Anlage. Schön weitläufig gestaltet, sehr schön Gestaltet
Wow, that is so real looking with a long shot...Happy & Healthy New Year..
This is a wonderful video and I enjoyed watching the trains roll by in that peaceful landscape as it was in the days gone by... Thanks for sharing ! Very well done. Greetings
Looks great , got a realism to it . Love the long sweeping curves around the countryside 👍
Looks so real, watched it three times , still gobsmacked , looks so, so , good , just the background natter takes the edge off it , 9 out of ten !! Well done anyway !!!
Very realistic scenery.
Très beau réseau ferroviaire, bien réaliste. Super travail, tout mes compliments. Bravo !
The scenery is just great! Huge areas of barren fields and hills! Or concrete patches!
Nicely caught on camera as well!
What a stunning layout, brilliant awesome, thx for showing it!
Love it! It's nice to see some big pastures.
Beautiful model layout with outstanding landscaping and atmosphere, somewhat spoilt by the "constant chatter" off-camera. This is why it's best to shoot the video when its quiet so one can appreciate the running noises of the engines and rolling stock.
Awesome layout. Looks massive
Holy crap! that's awesome!
toller Modellbau, super gemacht, Grüße aus Deutschland
What a fantastic layout!
Gorgeous place!! And that was a lot of wagons too! :-)
I agree with you. That was by far the longest vintage freight train I have ever seen on a model railway
Yes, I think someone counted 83 wagons!
Take the virtual tour on their website 😃 pendonmuseum.com/
and THAT is how the railway worked :-) love it
3:37 where does that amazing row of thatched cottages come from?
one of the best layout.
sehr schöne Anlage und mach bitte weiter so schöne Videos schönen Gruß aus Deutschland
Beautiful
Wonderful layout!
MAGNIFICENT!!
This isn't a model railway, it's a model of a landscape at a particular period in time that has a railway running through it.
Roger's Ramblings That’s what railways are normally.
@@davidwhite450 It is a matter of emphasis. Few model railways have the landscape as the dominant feature.
Not being critical but I’m curious to see a pannier on a 40 wagon train. Local trip workings with a pannier, but something that long?....
Please correct me but I would have the brake force on the Loco would prohibit such a load.
If the wagons near the loco are fitted, that makes a difference.
Super 👍 👍 sehr schön 😇 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Now that's a layout
Excellent
A wonderful layout. Beautiful execution. Thanks for sharing. What scale is it?
Amazing
Wow!!
Superb layout. What are the dimensions?
Not sure and can’t find it mentioned anywhere, sorry!
@@tbroyd OK thanks for reply
One scale mile About 70 feet of visible track length
Wow! i am not that looks so , so ,so real , well done all off you !! few more lower shots , and less of the talking in the background would be better , but as i said so real , the best one yet , credit you all !!! ALL THE BEST , NIGEL ,,
Fantastic, I do wonder though how it would go DCC with sound, not just the loco's but country sounds too, such as a cow belowing, dogs barking, chickens clucking etc, etc. Shame about the background banter though. None the less, a great layout, thanks for the footage 😎👍
Agree re "banter" - you always get some bore who likes his own voice! Makes it unwatchable.
Very beautiful landscape. But some trains are to long for only one little loco.
love the layout and the scenery but too much background noise on the video, spoils the video especially with my headphones on.
That coal train looked like a heavy load for one loco, was that typical in reality?
Nope. In reality there would be more then one locomotive pulling. But some of the lengths aren't realistic even for more locomotives.
@@TomOostink The train lengths are entirely realistic.
where is the figure.?
@9:59 the outbound train ( on the left) they look like the coaches that the early series of Thomas the tank used
Sound track is poor. Detracts from trying to understand the layout
A pannier tank pulling that length at 1:15 not realistic
My word, look at that coal train!

Sound to low, images jerky. 👎 Otherwise it could have been a nice video. 🙁
