Moldova is a bit different and less traveled as the most enjoyable part is the low cost. I've been there a few times before though there aren't many classic or famous sights. The wine and nature is nice. My last trip in Feb 2020 got more expensive as my camera got away in a hostel so this video is the last I captured with my 1st Osmo Pocket. These places are alway an adventure for western travellers. Transnistria is also something else. 😎 I flew to Cyprus the next day and could get a new one... I'd still like to return sometime during summer when I manage some way to Iasi / Romania
Thank you! Indeed it's much nicer during summer. I've been there several times though that was before I had the video camera. I'll see when it's possible again as there are surely some summer Moldova videos on UA-cam. Thanks for watching!
Good to know. I may be back sometime during summer. As mentioned "Filmed in February 2020". You can find this and more info in the video description. Thanks for watching!

Yes, I create all the videos here at the moment. These many different places appear here as I sometimes can film even 2 per day while traveling and release 2-3 per week from different trips. That's more work than vacation though I've been to most places before and still enjoy a revisit for filming such walks. The videos from these trips are spaced out over time so viewers can enjoy a broader mix. I think that's more interesting than seeing the same city 2-3 times in a row...
The locks symbolize a relationship of a couple. Usually they are placed on fences of bridges. Boys and girls write their name on the lock and place that lock on something - here the heart seems to be just made for that. There are also incidents when a bridge becomes too popular: www.bbc.com/news/av/world-europe-27758940 Just yesterday at a break from taking videos I saw a couple looking for their lock at a bridge in Wroclaw. I wonder whether they wanted to unlock it when their relationship was over...
I expected to see lots of beautiful ladies in the streets and I am not disappointed. And I am not finding the city bleak at all! But still, maybe it would be a better idea to make this video during summer. One of TOP places on my bucket list.
I'm using a DJI Osmo Pocket and a Zoom H1 microphone for the audio. The audio is optimised and synced before upload with the video. Both devices are connected to a power bank for long filming. In case audio comes from the Osmo Pocket it is noted in the video description
Moldova seems relatively safe even though in a hostel someone stole my camera which I didn't lock away so I also blame myself a bit. The country is among the poorest in Europe which means that one should use common sense with valuables. Still, as the video shows also a bit, Moldova is largely off the tourist map so related crimes seem rare. I felt rather safe there and often went through Chisinau towards other destinations in the area. refrain from visiting the territory of transnistria, in the village of kolbasna it is possible that self-detonation of the shells stored there is possible, Russia does not resolve the issue of their disposal, do not risk your lives!
Good to know. I actually visited Transnistria from Chisinau during the summer of 2018 and went to both Tiraspol and Bender. These two cities are rather "normal" considering the situation. I didn't venture out in the countryside and only met a few travellers at the "Like Home Hostel" in Tiraspol which was great. One tip is that you need a Moldovan entry stamp. Transiting from Ukraine to Moldova via Transnistria is considered illegal entry. The territory is not recognized (besides from Russia) though the crossing from Chisinau to Tiraspol or Bender is easy and well organized these days. There were stories about extortions of foreigners before 2018. You simply need to say and how where you stay and the duration of your stay. Talking a bit of Russian helps which should be clear when you travel in such area. Simply add 1 or 2 days to your planned stay as the entry paper-slip is time based. The exit wasn't checked in my case though your Moldovan entry stamp definitely gets checked when exiting Moldova. When I return there I sure will try to film a walk as it's one of the weirder places in Europe
