Naaah Zeljko Obradovic, then him.
7 players of Spain have never been in a senior tournament; 3 NBA bench players that almost didn't play last season; the only player of the golden era, Rudy Fernández is 37 years old. This team has two stars: the Spanish jersey and the coach.
And don't forget the starting pg an American who couldn't make the NBA (averaged 3ppg). When an European player hasn't been in the NBA you can always say they prefer playing in Europe, etc..but if it is American you know that they failed to make the NBA. No American kids grow-up dreaming of playing in Euroleague.

You are a bit of an ignorant bro. This Team has the best Defense and the Highest IQ on the court
Llull and Rodriguez
Yes, that is why I prefer FIBA Basketball ;-)
🇪🇸🏆🇮🇹 forza spagna forza coach scariolo
That's why Toronto raptors won the NBA title . He was an asst. Coach there .
Imagine if he is the one coaching the mens Italian bball team .
basketball is a game invented in the US, perfected by Yugoslavians, and taken to its full potential by Spanish players thanks to Escariolo.
Facts. Sergio is maybe the greatest European coach in the 21st century
Yugoslavians have great basket school.
But Italians also have some very good coaches such as Scariolo.
Americans only copied and modified Netball... Have a look before you answer.
@@innosanto Definetely; and I can assure you we Spanish are deeply grateful and indebted to Italy for giving birth and educating such a genious. Grazie mille
@johnberngal
Yes, Scariolo set his team up beautifully. What a contrast with the Germany Greece game where Greece, besides the fact that they played abysmally considering their talent pool, didn't have any answers tactically and strategically either - Itoudis has to take the blame for that. well done to the Spanish team - they poured their guts into this game and fought like lions. The final is promising to be huge
Itoudis has improved the game plan of Greece team which was playing abysmally over a decade now, some times with even better talent pool than this year.
Itoudis is trying to male team play basketball after many years.
It is work ij progress.
You cannot compare to a coach like Scariolo that us working so many years on this team.
@@innosanto I guess you're right. It's just that in the Germany game Greece didn't seem to have any adaptable plan
Because itoudis is dumbster.Bartzokas is papa for him
How its Itdoudis fault if they simple dont miss on the long three pointers? Like, have you ever watched basketball kid or just come in here and say a random opinion based on nothing? Use your brain before typing

El mejor entrenador que yo recuerde.
Outcoached his German counter part who overreacted to Brown having a good game IMO giving up size instead of sticking to what worked for Germany on offense and not switch to easy on defense.
Sergio.... increíble trabajo el suyo. Talento para descubrir y potenciar otros talentos. Eres un sabio estratega. Eres la base de los triunfos españoles.
Gracias!!!
Notice how Masai only deals with GOATs
spain is number 2 in the fiba ranking, so you should not underestimate even their amateurs and bench players, so you can consider them a powerhouse in europe basketball.
No one in the spanish team is an amateur player
Great Italian mngr, Bravo.
Wow I start to notice that this coach is really good.
"We ain't won nothin' yet!"
Thats that "jobs not finished" kobe mentality
There's only one coach he can't beat in FIBA and that's Mike Krzyzewski of team USA
Sergio Scariolo es el mejor, pero es Hispano-Italiano, si fuese alemán, francés, o etstadounidense todos dirían la verdad ¡Es el Mejor!. Sergio Scariolo is the best, but he is Hispanic-Italian, if he were German, French, or American, everyone would tell the truth: He is the Best!.
What about Željko Obradović?
Zeljko is great
Italian quality. Him and Messina (2nd active most successful European coach) are just something else. Only Obradovic is in their same tier as of today in my opinion
Its just ridiculous having Obradovic in the same category....he is the goat
Both great coaches. Still, Obradovic is standing alone, tier above everyone
There is no comparison. Obradović is miles ahead.

one of the best games in the tournament. so many lead changes, couldn't tell who's gonna win until the last minutes.
as a French my biggest fear is Scariolo. Spain is a very good team with very good players, but Scariolo is so much better than Collet who can have disastrous choices (especially in 3 QT) ..
Collet a sorti les USA de Popovitch quand mm c'est pas le premier venu ...
Finally i found someone in France who share my thoughts on collet.
Amazing manager, but not a top tier coach. He prepares his team very well but he haves no adptability during a game. I never ever saw him find some coaching tricks to change the course of a game. All of our faith always depends on the good form of our stars.
I think thats why collet lost so many important games, he does not have the spark of genius that top tier coach like scariolo have to change the faith of a game!
The semi final against argentina where an old amazing scola gave us the business stills haunts me. The fact that collet didnt try anything even more
He's the basketball equivalent to carlo ancelloti
Ancelotti is more relational and Scariolo is more positional
I guess Obradovic and Ivkovic never existed in this pocket dimension.
They are new soft generation they never watched those 2 Yugoslavian/Serbian GODS.
They don't know shit about basketball, not just because of this video, I watched their podcasts and analysis and they don't have a clue about basketball. Like most Millennials they just ride with the hype and they watch too much NBA and think that real game is like video game. They don't know difference between NBA regular season games style and European games style, they don't get, like most today's kids, in Europe and Euro teams it's all about team and team performance and not about Superstars and their stats. They crowned Slovenia, Greece and Serbia before first game and they bashed teams like France, Spain and Germany for ridiculous reasons, one of them is not having good enough roster🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦. One Rudy Fernandez has more experience and tough games than Jokić, Dončić and Giannis combined, he played more one elimination games than all of them together. But for idiots at this podcast that doesn't matter because he never played in NBA.
@@PIP...33 I'm Serbian, and Obradovic and Ivkovic are great, but now is the time of new great coaches Scariollo is one of them. It's a joy to watch this Spanish team.

They could have easily lost that
But he didn’t, always the “could”
it was amazing that Schroder only made a basket in the whole last period, after dominating the first 3.
Escariolo had an ace under his sleeve: Alberto Diaz, the blonde spanish guard, is a defensive specialist almost as good as Ricky Rubio in defence, and Escariole reserved him for that last 4th crucial period. Well done.
It is ridiculous that Spain is in the final.
scariolo is an excellent coach, undoubtedly.
But unlike the other years, of the other selections of the national team (Brothers Gasol, S.Rodriguez, Calderon, Navarro, Iuill, Navarro, Rubio, Ibaka etc ...), this national team won because it naturalized an American Lorenzo Bronwn who scores 30 points per game and at least 6 assists per game.
Spain without this trick of naturalizing the American would not be in the final, nor would they have beaten Lithuania, immediate naturalization would have to be abolished just to play an international sports competition.
eso se dice antes de empezar ...no cuando te han ganado...
Every team except Serbia has naturalized player, so stop it. Brown isn't the only reason why they are in the final, they are in the final because they have excellent coach who develop great team chemistry and team plays. And they had their one bad against Belgium at group stage and they played playoff part of the tournament at highest level. That's what best teams do, they play their best games in late stage and at end of tournament, not at begging.
Do It ban naturalization of players
When you lose against spanish Aldama, Adam and Almansa, youll come back asking for naturalization to be back
Brown is just here because ricky was injured
@@MarioCindric France naturalized nobody for the moment FYI. We talk about Embid for 2024 but trust me a lot of players dont want...
@@florentr943 WTF, France didn't naturalized anybody???? Dude you're Africa 2.0 in every sport, even French people are admitting that and laughing about it. You're most tainted sport nation currently in Europe, even England is more pure than you and they were biggest colonization nation. Yeah all those black players in France are pure Frenchmen, they all are descendants of Louis XIV, Louis XVI and Napoleon.
Without any intention whatsoever to downplay Scariolo's ingenious coaching, hiring Brown (and Ibaka and Mirotić prior) is a massive stain on Spanish national basketball record. A nation that bred players such as Garbajosa, or Gasol brothers, Navarro, Calderon etc should accept that currently they do not have an amazing echelon (the young bucks are coming nonetheless) and play with what they got. It is a major source of trauma for us, Serbs, that we no longer have the players of such caliber as Bodiroga, or Djordjević or Teodosić (active but far behind his prime), but we would never resort to hiring mercenaries. Overall public opinion about it is almost unanimous (yes, we do have foreign women playing for the national team, but nobody seriously cares about women basketball). And Spain is 10 times bigger in terms of population (not to mention colonial pool), has the best league in Europe and is way richer. My respect can only go to the Lithuanians in this regard, maybe there is decades long rivalry between our teams and not much love between our peoples in general, but I bow down to their relationship with basketball and them solely depending on what they got.
You argument is clearly directed to downplay Spanish basketball who has been on top of the world for about 20 years in a row. You clearly don’t know about Mirotic and Ibaka background (especially when you intentionally use the term “hiring” disrespecting their background and identity) and it can’t be compared with Brown, that still decided to nationalise. Regardless naturalisation, Spain it’s undoubtedly a basketball force with a winning mentality and probably with best European basketball nation from the last decade. Basically, you’re full of shit.
Agree with that. The Spanish team is great but hiring mercenaries to play for your team is not the right thing to do.. This is a National Team not some European Club.

Lorenzo Brown has to thank Scariolo. Scariolo has already won Eurobaskets, WC championships, Olympic Medals... Lorenzo is just a average player, nothing to be compared with Doncic, Giannis, Jokic... if anything, he has to thank Scariolo and the Spanish team for winning a medal.

@@masacrador1 let's not let Lorenzo Brown play the final, are you going?
Huge level of arrogance
In my view it's quite the contrary
Germans had the quality and were dangerous when they got going. But they lacked ability to control the game when they got ahead.. I was missing more set plays and when they were up in the 4th. Obst was fantastic from the distance for example but they didn't call any plays for him. So they lived and died by spurts initiated by Schroeder. Which looked great when they worked and chaotic when they didn't. Spain showed more maturity and presence and also Brown was just amazing for Spain. Just too much to handle exactly when the game was on the line. How is he not on the NBA?...
I cheked his wikipedia page, Lorenza has been in several teams a year most of his life... I dont know why, maybe he is a bit slow and soft for the NBA? He has been playing shooting guard... too much competition in that position...? Actually, it could just be poor defence..? Not sure... last months he has been playing at Tel Aviv, Israel, which is traditionally a very strong Team in Europe
