Thanks mate! We are so fortunate to be able live amazing lives in the mountains of New Zealand. Hope the hills are treating you well mate! Keep charging!
Thanks for the feedback, really appreciate it! 4 years between my 1st 10" chamois and probably 400+ days in the hills in that time is a part of why that animal is so special to me.
Congratulations on an exceptional old nanny. She's a real beauty, and as you say, a physical representation of all your time in the hills. Loved the film, well done!
Cheers Mate, she's certainly old for sure, hard to properly age but most likely over 12+ years old. She's currently on the bookshelf next to my 10 6/8" Chamois buck with 7 6/8" spread, they barely fit!
Awesome video and pictures, I particularly liked the Whio; they’re amazing creatures and I never get sick of seeing them. That Chamois certainly was special too. 👍
Great effort, you definitely deserve more than you get unlike many hunters these days but I guess our own conscience judges us in the end. Thanks for sharing, look forward to your next mission
Cheers mate, appreciate the feedback! Honor and integrity mean a lot to me. Plus the harder you work for something the sweeter success tastes. Hope the outdoors are treating you well!
Stunning country you travelled though, I really enjoyed following along and love the "callous the mind" comment to harden up on those tough climbs. What camera are you using the close ups of the stags were crystal clear.
Cheers mate, glad you enjoyed it! Yeah punching out tough climbs each day is all about mindset regardless of fitness (but yes fitness does help). A good saying I heard a while ago is "Your attention goes where your focus is". Either focus on the pain or think about nothing. I use a Nikon Coolpix p610, unfortunately they have been discontinued. However, any super zoom dslr camera will do the trick. Get something with at least x60 optical zoom.
Awesome advice ben to the young and old hunters to strive or at least try.and try to do the best they can. I'm the same with you and what I choose to put on the wall etc must have a good story behind it and of course hard yards and a good feed
100% mate so much of my success on and off the hill has come from simply trying as hard as I can and working hard, Love seeing anybody work hard to achieve a goal! haha completely agree, the harder you work the better it feels when the goal is achieved!
Hey Mate, yeah for sure I'll look at breaking down what I use in the next few films. I'm a bit of a gear nut and love searching for the best possible kit list. Lightweight gear is definitely my focus.
Amazing stuff mate, wicked old girl congrats well earnt

😎😎 video and well done on the Chamois
Cheers mate, certainly a journey to get that Chamois!

That Chamois certainly was special too. 👍
Couldn't agree more, Whio are such beautiful animals, always a real privilege spending time with them!
Inspiring as always, thank you.
Awesome to hear as its certainly some of the motivation to spend hours making this film.

Hey Ben. Any chance of a pack dump for a 6-10 day hunt? Interested to see what you take
