- We continue our Spanish trip from Montería in central Spain to the North-East of Ripoll, Catalonia in the foothills of the Pyrenees.
Here we hope to find a suitable Isard (Chamois) as part of a management hunt for the regional ‘Parc Natural’. - Спорт
Well done Dan and Owen, chamois are a slippery customer wherever you hunt them, well done, waidmansheil!
I have family living quite close to the same area (40 km west). I hunted also Isard this october, using .308w Hornady CX .165 gr out of my Sauer 101 XTA.
There is a lot of wildboars in the same area ;)
Great Video 💯 💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
What an incredible trip that must have been. Certainly worth all the blood, sweat and deers! (See what I did there!) Hunting the Pyrenees looks truly incredible. My arthritis in my right ankle was just screaming out watching you side hilling! It looked pretty tricky for you, Owen, so Dan must have been tip toeing like a ballerina to get across some of those steep hillsides carrying camera and kit without slipping.
Another great video Owen, loving the gear talk afterwards as well. Quick question, I’m struggling to find stockists for Merkel gear in the UK, any guidance on that?
That looks like a nice place for a hunting trip👍
It was beautiful! Just wish there was more of a normal Wintery feeling when it was mid January! 😂
Spain is an absolute primo hunting destination. Well worth a break from stalking in Scotland to go experience chamois or ibex.
Absolutely right! It truly is a sporting paradise, with so many opportunities to hunt many different game animals from the Montería to Chamois, Ibex etc. + all the game shooting - partridge etc.
🔥🔥🔥
Nice vidéo. Can you make a pack dump vidéo please?
👍👍👍👍🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌👍👍👍👍
Chamois are such a lovely animal, I disagree with your comments re that animal being full of adrenaline, it was relaxed feeding. Their a very thin gamed animal where big heavy projectiles from calibres will pass through with little mushrooming with very little kinetic energy being dumped inside the animal, all you’ll have left is a hole, it’s dead on its feet but far from being ‘smashed’ as you say, lighter calibres more suited to chamois have a better effect than large calibres,
Appreciate your comments and the time taken to respond - we’ll take that feedback on board for next time.
Many thanks and hot barrels for your future endeavours.
Nice vid, you can say that a warmer year has given the Chamois some relief from long winters for a change. More carbon dioxide more plant growth!
Great stuff, the Trigercam has caught me a couple of times but not as many as i first thought it would do haha
At that angle you need to hold low or you will shoot over top, not that I have ever done it😂
