Best video tour of the new Moynihan Train Station. They did an excellent rendition that kind of reminds me of the original Penn Station, at least with the tall columns & ceiling. Years in the making & worth the wait. Thank you for the showing us around!
It was helpful to see how you navigate through Penn Station. Nice to see the Food Hall and the retail spaces. 😎 Thank you for sharing this informative walk and Penn Station's history, AK! 🤗
Penn Station looks great , even the cealing looked great😎I would love to visit that station even i weren’t go anywhere lol😁Thank you for this tour at the station AK🙂👍!!!
That is really an interesting situation going on at Madison Square Garden between them and the State of New York... Very interesting walkthrough there. Gives me more ideas for traveling there. I wanted to do a full day tour with videos. But I'm still in the beginning stages of planning a trip up there.
Thank you for this very interesting walk. Hopefully, when all the building is finished, Penn Station will be a well-functioning and beautiful entrance to the city for travelers. I have always felt that the destruction of the beautiful old Penn Station was an insult to civilization, but at least it resulted in the establishment of commissions to preserve other architecturally or historically important buildings. I have always found it interesting that at least two of the ancient Roman buildings that served as inspiration for the old Penn Station are, after nearly 2,000 years, still in use: the Baths of Diocletian, much restored, as a church and museum and the Baths of Caracalla, somewhat ruinous, as a concert venue.
This was such a great video. I used to frequent Penn Station a lot while I was in college on Long Island going to and from home in the DC area, but haven’t been back since graduating more than five years ago. Incredible how much has changed in such a relatively short time.
I will be transferring from Amtrak to a Long Island Rail Road train a few days from now. It looks like it will be just as hard to find my way as before, maybe even requiring a longer walk from Moynihan Train Hall. I haven't been to Penn in a few years. There have been some improvements, for sure. Thanks for the tour.
I love Penn Station same time I’m glad it’s getting a major makeover and renovation, it’s like underground city from above New York also on top of Madison Square Garden and Moynihan Train Hall.
Moynihan is big enough that a part of it could be built out for MSG. Now imagine the Knicks playing underneath Moynihan with the skylights above -- that would truly be the world's greatest sports venue. Goes to show you just how small minded the Dolans truly are, just in case you didn't already know. And the best part it theres enough space there that the train hall size wouldn't have to be reduced at all.
Good walk through! Thank you for your observations. A few of my own: 1) You made a general statement that the NJ Transit wing was unlikely to see the kind of renovations ongoing at LIRR (and Amtrak). Do you have specific information regarding that? 2) The Central and West End Corridors of LIRR will continue to be dark, low-ceilinged and cramped as long as the east-west axis continues to be on two levels. 3) Already it's clear the Moynihan Train Hall has inadequate restroom facilities. Long lines for both genders develop quickly with each arriving train. With only 3 cramped restrooms in all of the original Penn Station, you'd think they'd have learned their lesson. 4) With only the small underground passageway beneath 8th Avenue and the ACE lines connecting Penn with Moynihan, a lot of travelers will have a hard time understanding how to get from one to the other.
Nice one man! I just in Moynihan Hall a few weeks ago; it's such a beautiful station, especially the grand hall there. By the way, this is Mood Stream- I rebranded my channel and changed it to Discover Hudson Valley. Let's continue to stay in touch. Cheers and have a great weekend! 👍🔥💯
I'm visiting from Boston now. When i got off the train in NYC i exited into Penn Station, thinking i was in Moynihan Hall (i am not familiar with either of these before now). It seems it makes more sense to return via Penn Station rather than Moynihan Hall. Is that correct?
The old entrance of Penn Station, right in front of MSG, was a trip. It had such a unique smell of pizza, bar sweat and other fried comfort food that the Moynihan Station is a shock to the system. Having said that, there is a sterile feel to the Moynihan station. I really wished they re-created the one section of the original Les Beaux Arts style that let in all the light as you boarded the train. 🚊
I think providing airport style seating would be adequate and also the Moynihan train hall closes from 1 to 4 so there is no excuse to not add seats for passengers. They also had security patrolling the area so they can deal with any problems
Because most of them-- even relatively experienced NJT users--- aren't aware of it. It's not well signed and there's no obvious waiting area in the middle of the exit corridor. I wasn't aware of it either until once when I was boarding a train from the main hall I noticed some folks already arriving on the platform far in front of me. The next time I was there I explored where they had come from. You're right about boarding from the exit corridor though.... when the track number gets posted you can avoid "the scrum" of people in the main hall rushing to the platform. So let's just keep this our little secret!
I thought the post office was supposed to move out of the Farley building. Something about not being able to dispatch the mail trucks efficiently, so I read or heard in an earlier video then the Moynihan train hall was still under construction. It’s just weird that Penn Station (which I thought was going to be renamed, “Empire Station”) and the Moynihan train hall aren’t going to both be under the same roof. I think even if the station and train hall had the entire Farley building to themselves, they would still be busting at the seams. Negotiations are tough. It is great that they are widening the corridors and raising the ceiling as well as adding shops and restaurants. The stairwells down to the platforms were way too tight
I’m subscribing to your page I love this video too but I’m going to New York. I am in Florida and I’ve never traveled like that before but I’m taking greyhound. And I really wanna take the trains in the subways instead of using a cab and Lyft or Uber , for the experience in is less money when I get to New York can I catch the train/subway to Huntington Is that possible?
Question the Amtrak train is that bottom level or top level cuz I'm chickenshit of heights and want to know cuz it's raining 89 would that be a lower level or you don't know
Dude how you skip Starbucks moniyhan i worked there 😂..i clicked to see it i would see myself!!..you missed chopt and pressed Cha Cha latte lol...anyways i work at downstairs starbucks come thru I'll give you a free drink

You are the best at what you do. Come to Philadelphia and do a video of this under appreciated and maligned city. A lot of great things here.
really enjoyed this video thankyou so much!
Thank You Action!! For this video. Now I know. What to expect when I return to NYC. On my next trip. With all the changes to Penn Station. Stay Safe
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for this awesome walk ActionKid👌🇺🇸. Have great weekend🐼.
I have never been to Penn station, but I think I'd go just for the food! It's really a beautiful building and thank you for taking us there today.
It might be a good food destination for sure!
Penn station is a cool place. However if you travel to Asia and see their stations and return to New York it can feel disappointing
you are right about the stressful entrance to the NJ tracks and yeah the air is stuffy there
It’s still a maze to find your train down there
many panic attacks and missed trains for me@@ActionKid

Hey AK! What's up? Another great and informative walk !!! Keep it up! You are awesome!

I totally agree!

I hope it’s finished soon!
The exit towards 9th Avenue has a nice Plaza with retail and the nearby entrance to the highline extension.
That’s nice!
Nice interior. Enjoyed the video.

I went down to the city recently and then took the Amtrak in the Moynihan Train Hall station up to the Catskills region.
I will be transferring from Amtrak to a Long Island Rail Road train a few days from now. You can do it!
I love Penn Station same time I’m glad it’s getting a major makeover and renovation, it’s like underground city from above New York also on top of Madison Square Garden and Moynihan Train Hall.
Thank you very much for the tour. I plan on visiting New York memorial day weekend 2024. This tool was very helpful. Keep up the good work.
Thank you for your help.

I always come here when I’m in the city normally go wait at the ticketed waiting area tho bc I get a train back to Long Beach
Moynihan Train Hall is beautiful.

They should extend the waiting room around the entire upper level aside from where the led screen area is. The spaces there are still vacant.
Hello from Germany ✌️
Hello there!
The old entrance of Penn Station, right in front of MSG, was a trip. It had such a unique smell of pizza, bar sweat and other fried comfort food that the Moynihan Station is a shock to the system. Why does everyone cram into the njt hall? The exit corridor is much more roomy for waiting.
They want to be closer to the trains
Because most of them-- even relatively experienced NJT users--- aren't aware of it. It's not well signed and there's no obvious waiting area in the middle of the exit corridor. I wasn't aware of it either until once when I was boarding a train from the main hall I noticed some folks already arriving on the platform far in front of me. Last time I was in Penn Station was in November 2021…I was visiting from Philly…going to Central Park.
How far of a walk would you say is Moynihan Train Hall to Madison Square Garden? Great video learned a lot for my upcoming trip!
Like is there a train/subway station at the New York city bus station
Nice video👍
Do They have Gift Shops at NYC Pennsylvania Station????
Those people at the stream's start had to do a double take 0:36 - 0:41 That side eye! lol
I’m subscribing to your page I love this video too but I’m going to New York. I am in Florida and I’ve never traveled like that before but I’m taking greyhound.

So to walk from the old NY Penn station to Moyinhan Train Hall without going outside, you have to go down to the LIRR level?
Penn Station for the LIRR area looks just like you're at an airport
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Question the Amtrak train is that bottom level or top level cuz I'm chickenshit of heights and want to know cuz it's raining 89 would that be a lower level or you don't know
❤❤❤❤
Where does someone catch a taxi to take them to the cruise lines?
I enjoyed the video. BUT I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO LIVE i in Florida❤❤😊
There is no seating because homeless people would sleep on it.
I think this is the real answer. However, it is quite inhumane to not provide any seating at all.
Amtrak waiting area for ticketed passengers amtrak and LIRR..
As usual everyone ELSE suffers. That’s the American way.
They sleep on the floor so why not have seats for them and us!! Kinda cruel man 🤷🏻♂️
Homeless people also go BM on the seats
Do They have McDonald's at NYC Pennsylvania Station????
If I'm ever in the area, I could just walk a few blocks to the Empire State Building.
a train station without a single bench. not what I was expecting. It would totally suck to have any sort of a layover.
I got attacked there in late January over filming an elevator
Man, a Krispy Kreme would really clean up down here... - Homer Simpson.
Is there exit to 36th street ?
What Is Bigger NYC PENNSYLVANIA STATION OR NEWARK PENNSYLVANIA STATION????
Dude how you skip Starbucks moniyhan i worked there 😂..i clicked to see it i would see myself!!..you missed chopt and pressed Cha Cha latte lol...anyways i work at downstairs starbucks come thru I'll give you a free drink
you're doing God's work
MSG would be nuts to leave here.

Absolute garbage. What a waste of time and money.
Move MSG out of the way and rebuild Penn Station the way it was originally built in 1910.
Been to much better stations. It sucks!! 🖕
If you need directions at Penn station 🚉 then The Actionkid will steer you in the right direction. 🐼
What is the nearest exit to 36th street ?
