Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 is one of the most well-known electric kick scooters.
It is very popular due to its good build quality and affordable price tag.
Most reviews show you a brand new scooter. But what happens to your scooter after using it for a while?
Let’s see how long you can ride with a Xiaomi Pro 2 electric scooter that has been used for over 1 year.
At the beginning of the test:
*The battery is fully charged.
*I used only Standard speed mode, which has a top speed of 25 km/h.
*Weight of the rider is about 90 kilograms (200 lbs).

So in total, the 1-year-old Xiaomi Pro 2 managed to ride 23 kilometers in standard mode with 90 kilograms of payload. I think it’s not a bad result at all.
And the rest of the distance - I could ride the bike as I did in my childhood.

Finally! A useful and practical video of the e-bike durability, instead of day to day reviews all over UA-cam! Thank you!!
Thanks!
The ending though "riding the bike as I did in my child hood"
😊😊
My Xiaomi Pro 2 is almost 2years old and can still last up to 20-25km range in Sports mode w/ cruise control enabled. Over 2900km total mileage
Wow, that's great
My pro 2 is going 22 km every day for 1 year and 2 month now and stil got 27 km of range left ( use for work ) gone 5084 km for now
@@iceman4350cs Nice one 🛴
Factory range is speed 1
Flat ground,so no one can get that,my son got 18mls on 2019 365 pro
One of the best videos on this topic. Very useful. 20km+ range after one year is wonderful.
Glad it was helpful!
This scooter is heavily discounted where I live so I landed up buying one getting delivered today will be using it along side with transit as some Areas of my city range from poor to no bus service
I have a the essential it has been 2 years and it is working as good as new
That's just great
Last year i somehow managed to push out 51km out that 1 year old battery.
It might have been perfect driving conditions but still was suprised that it got 6km more than its supposed to be.
Also today after 2 years its still pushin like new.
Also here's nice tip to get the last bit of electricty out of it:
When the battery starts blinking red (below 10%) accelerate slowly to avoid having to restart.
Wow, thats great!
You must of been 50kg wringing wet bro 😅
@@shaneboyce9392 Nah, im about 70kg.
Also here's a quick update on my Scooter:
A few Weeks ago i took it for another Range Test in even better conditions than before. (About 27°C, almost only Flat Asphalt Paths)
And i also kept my Speed at 15kph for the entire Trip.
The Result:
*After 60km* the now two year old Battery finally gave up.
@@filipoholz Do you mean its dead/broken?? Needs to replace?
@@renzyy6179 Nah i just ran outta Power after the 60km
i now have a range of around 60km!
i use the tool Scooterhacking, i flashed the live-update software to mine, so that on the fly you can change anything in the settings (like max AMP and speeds or autobreaking etc) so i set the S mode to go full out on 32AMPs so that is obviously a battery drain lol! but the D setting i have set to 14AMP and 19km/h, and adjusted the curve so that it accelerates a bit slower.
with that setting i can now drive for almost 60 km!
(well take off about 6km, cause those last kms will be super slow, almost better to walk lol)
Where are you from and where was this video shot? :)
How is this model while climbing hills?
My Mi Pro 2 is two years now as well, the battery capacity dropped by 6% and it covered 2000 Km with 59 charging cycles, so you can calculate that the average mileage for full charge is 33 Km. I never use "D" mode, only "S" mode, I weight 80 KG and usually pack additional 8-10 KG of things with me, like clothes, backpack with other things, lock chain and a power supply. Usually I am 100% sure that it can take me 10 KM away from home one way and return, 80% of time to do the same for 14 KM one way. If the battery is overcharged and left without balancing, then the usable capacity suddenly might drop to 24 KM and it seems that this is what happened in this video. Full battery charge is actually close to 5 hours, and additional 1-1,5 hours for the battery balancing that BMS performs each time after the charge. Suggest doing balancing at least once a week even if you take it for a short ride (less than 2 km). Cold and tire pressure affect the drivable distance quite a lot. Cold weather, like -5c can take away 5 km of range compared to +20c. Low tire pressure (25-30 psi) can take as much way. Notable fact - during 2000 KM nothing broke and never had a puncture. The only problem with it is the clicking sound from the stem, but that can be easily fixed by a copper paste and some firmware updates actually caused the electronic front brake to disengage randomly leaving you with very weak disk break (just a nature of rear breaks in general (physics))
Thanks for the feedback! Great ideas.
Very informative post. Thank you!
BTW: what do you mean by balancing the battery?
i have the same scooter but the battery doest stand that long, i dont understand
This is the video I was looking for for a long time. Because I weigh 90 kg and I wanted to buy such a scooter. But I was afraid that my weight would not suit my ambitions to go to work or the gym
Thank You Very Much For You ❤️✨
I’m 100kg and maybe could get 10/12miles before battery runs out
@@davidpatterson172 thanks ❤️
What was the mileage of the scooter at the time of this video
Woah that's interesting, I have the pro 1 and did a range test not too long ago and got 42km at 25km/h BUT with a small additional battery (5,2 Ah) so a total of 18Ah.
Works out at an efficiency of 2.3km per Ah whereas yours at 23km travelled averages 1.8km/Ah - I guess rider weight makes a big difference (78kg)
That's very interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Mine is 3 years old and yesterday I did 30,3km in Sports Mode with 96kg payload. The secret is properly inflated wheels.
Wow, that's great. And thanks for the tip!
That’s like 200mph I wanna get that how much is it
cooles video
If someone changes the battery of the Xiaomi pro 2, does the charger input also change? Can someone answer me, pleeeeaaase? 😊
Do u mean if u upgrade the battery
ive got a brand new pro 2 and get around the same milage but in sport mode. do you get better range in drive mode over sport? i read online that there isnt much gains to be had in drive mode.
I am pretty sure, that you would get more mileage in drive mode.
It is recommended to use in drive mode mostly for longevity of battery life as proven in this video, sport mode will ruin the battery if used constantly as with all electric scooters and bikes.. hope this helps to keep your scooter lasting longer
Does higher tire pressure benefit the range? it feels way easier to kick at higher pressures
2019 365 pro my son got 18mls on speed 3
Yea but the 1 year old Xiaomi Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2, how often was is used during that 1 year? Once? 100 times? How many km did it do? Did you use it once for testing and waited for a year? Or what?
The scooter has been in daily use.
my 2 year old pro 2 with 1200km and 100 battery cycles only manages to get me around 6km in S mode, unlocked to 33kmh and 10km in D mode, cruise control to 15kmh.
for the first 6km i use S mode to catch the bus, which drains no more than 30% of the battery. the rest, 70% goes away in 10km at 15kmh speed, dont know why.
Have you inflated the tires? Mine is 3 years old and yesterday I did 30,3km in Sports Mode with 96kg payload. The secret is properly inflated wheels. Before that I had poor results too but taking care of wheels did the trick I didn't expect.
S is for sport not standard….D is for Drive which is standard.
Thx for the vid. I, too, am an owner-rider of a Pro 2. May I know the mileage of your scooter 🛴 in your test.
The mileage of the scooter is almost 2000 miles. How much is yours?
@@ElectricWheelers Mine is less than 2000 km….
It seems sensitive to weight then or something hehe, i weight 70 kilo and i get about 45km of range as it says
Yeah, the weight plays a big part in the range.
I weigh 60kg. And will use it for delivery lets say in total 62 how long range i will get ? Thinking to get a second hand one
@@isaacabaf I would say roughly the same as me between 40-45km
@@farbrornilsson9709 what about the weather conditions sometimes ( summer ) and the roads?
@@isaacabaf I ride mine pretty much every day even though it rains. Haven't had any problems yet. :)
I weigh 12 stone and manage 12 miles out of 3 year old battery not sure if that's good or bad
What's 12 stone mate
This is quite accurate , I weigh 125 and I get 20km
Thanks for the feedback! Is it the same as at the beginning or is it getting worse over time?
@@ElectricWheelers this is new had it 100km only few charges yet . Look like it won't loose much . I do have good battery charging habits , i.e. when not using the scooter I never leave it at 100% always around 60% , when I go somewhere longer distance I charge and inidiatly leave . Try not to run it down to zero often , usually keep it between 20 and 90%.
@@supernova1976 that's great management. It will serve you for longer.
sir 125KG or Pound? am 110KG and hesitate to get this scooter
@@wadalzain5 kg, no issue, but if the area you ride is bumpy , I don't advice, because it may not handle the forces
How many km have you traveled with that scooter before you do that test?
Don't know the exact mileage bit it has been in daily use
i have a xiaomi 1s that is 1 year old and have 2800km. I am 120 pounds and can still do 20km with it.
Nice 😊
Five kilometers means how many minutes of driving on 25?
If the speed is 25 km/h, it takes 12 minutes to cover 5 km.
What is this Scooter like going up hill?
For me it manages the up hills
What was the average speed here?
I didn't calculate the average speed. But I was riding with the maximum speed all the time I could (25km/h).
I get only 11km ? It's 5 months old, any suggestions?
11km seems too low. What's your weight? Do you have steep inclines on your roads?
@@ElectricWheelers im 81kg, its not too steep roads, I checked both with both modes with less than 15km..,
@@Bhairav1256 There must be something wrong with the battery. Or the scooter you have, have the smaller battery
@@ElectricWheelersI gave to service center, will update what the issue is!
What ? That’s shocking its supposed to be 45 km
Yeah, but you rarely get an advertised range when riding with a top speed.
Reading the manual it said that 45km is in Drive not top speed mode.
And during testing the rider is typically 70 kg.
@@ElectricWheelersremember that the manufacturers estimate is done in a controlled environment (a lab)
220 km after only 1 year?! That is a right out scandal. I would say that would be acceptable after 3 years of use. No Xiaomi for me then.
What do you expect? It only does 45 km in drive mode not top speed...
It varies someone gets more than 700km some 800 and some 200km
it wouldn't be sin if you would clean it 😁
Do you still recommend it in 2023?
It's still a good budget-friendly scooter from a trusted brand but I would suggest newer models.
@@ElectricWheelers are there any problems with this version or do you suggest me to buy a newer version to get more specifications?
@@al9jy224 there are not any known problems with this model. if you can get it brand new and at a good price then it's nothing to worry about
@@ElectricWheelers thank you 🤝
Hi. Is this filmed in Pärnu, Estonia? I recognized the bridge and your Estonian accent (ma olen ka eestlane)
Yes, everything is correct :)
I have Xiaomi Essential remapped 30 km/h with 3000 km it is like new
Great
