the original keeps its status as the superior version, but I also really like this theme as it really does give off the vibe of returning for another round - we didn't get a version that would surpass the old track, but just one that would give off such a welcoming feeling. it really does feel nice to be playing something like this again.
giving it another listen, I also enjoy how this track describes a more experienced Barry..

Both are simialr but unique in their own way. The original is better for the gameplay because how hard the beat drops sometimes and how active it feels. This one feels likea happy ending, like you actually reached the end of the game and the credits appear. Both are amazing

It’s not better than the original, but it’s kinda fire. Wish there was more variety. The remix kept the electro swing, but there’s no jazz, rock, or anything else to switch up the beat

They also talked in detail of how the song development looked
It went from Pure Jazz to them feeling that it's too calm so they made it fully electro swing and then decided that it was too extreme for this game and they decided to blend add these like "breathers" being the Jazz in the electro song and then they finalized it with some Rock music
The whole video was really good so I recommend checking out "How Jetpack Joyride was made"

People really like the original version more, and I respect that, but in my opinion this seems to be better for me. With the electro swing only in here(said in a comment) it looks like Barry isn't just stuck at the Lab, and will go far to other locations.
I think people prefer the old theme because of nostalgia bias

the first theme sounds more fit for just vibing and having a great time while watching memes but this one sounds more fit for listening while you walk somewhere on an amazing day

I love the sense of progression in this series’ music! The first one felt much more “Barry”, but now that he’s deeper in the lab, he’s treading new ground; hence all of this sweet techno ^^

imo this is better than the original. It removes the Jazz parts that I found weird and made the other parts go harder but I can definitely see why some people still prefer the OG

This. Is. Epic. Nostalgia and a sweet remix. But in my opinion, the original is better.
They did an awesome job with this, still having the soul of the OG but also being different enough to not be a simple remix. Perfect mix of new and old!
The original actually sounds like you're going on an actual joyride, but the new one is still pretty cool like you know what you're doing this time.
Sadly, it took away everything that made OG OST original. Good nonetheless.

OG is iconic, but JJ2 is my favorite. Very few songs can make me do the Bully Maguire dance, and Everytime I hear it, I just bust a move.
It would be awesome to add a music category to the shop and have different background themes while you play. Like one of them being the og Jetpack Joyride theme.

Jetpack Joyride is such a classic but Jetpack Joyride 2 is a great game
I love how you called it legitimate research instead of legit research. most companies are like "well I heard a kid say legit once so I bet every kid says it." and proceeds to throw in a bunch of old slang words to make "appealing" to children. you are an awesome company.
I like this theme, don’t get me wrong, but there should be an option to switch the main theme in the settings so we can relive nostalgia.
Maybe they can do something similar with what they did in JJ1 with the Headphones where there can be a cosmetic set that is the OG Barry
