  • Yup! Its that pattern again! At least to begin with ...then it transmorphs into these four turtles....no....no...not that....oh right! Into a rather languid display of tomishnessness.

You keep time on the hi hat, ride or even a crash, or floor tom. Bass drum on one and three, snare on two and four.

With percussions cant any element be used in that capacity, be it snare, hi hat or catbell? keeping time is an absolute but also an arbitrary construct, and the choice of what aspects and elements shall be stressed lay in mind of the man with the sticks! if you and i are to take drumming to the next level of expanded form, function and essence we're gonna have to break some toms(crack some shells)and reorient the omelette! Take what is known, as a reference for others, and yet restructure the manifestations of beat, groove, and even time itself as we know it! Free the percussionist from rote static forms so as to embrace a creative flow alive with time and beat yet of diverse and varying form!
or maybe bass drum on 2&4.....

@@Alembizoa Listen to any rock song. They don't keep time on toms the way you are attempting to. I'm a drum teacher. Have instructed a ton of students. I don't want to be a downer, but you're way off time . BTW Keeping time is math. Listen to Led Zep, Soundgarden. I love that you're trying though
