- Here in this first video of our series on Islam we frame the big picture of the world's second largest religion. What do the words "Islam" and "Muslim" mean? What is Islam's relationship with Judaism and Christianity? Who is Allah? What is the Qur'an? Who was Muhammad, and how did his leadership, courage, and vision help shape this complex, diverse, and multifaceted world religion?
First time I heard the story of Abraham and Isaac at the Kabba... Thanks
Yeah, it's amazing. If I had more time...when Sara banishes Hagar and Ismael, the Qur'an picks up the story and tells how they established the Ka'ba on the site of an ancient meteor strike. That site has been a holy temple for many centuries before the coming of Islam.
You should make these into playlist an number them so we can watch in order😊
They are on a playlist called "A Course on World Religions." There are other playlists too, like "A Course on World Mythology," and "The Hero's Journey." I was reluctant to number them because I'm leaving the door open to make more videos and insert them into the sequence. But you're right -- if I numbered them it would be more user-friendly. Thanks!
Gud evening sir,
Please sir just tell me one thing You've read all world religions right? Every religion has some beautiful stuff and philosophy in it so The claim Allah has made " No one can produce something like this ,One book ,one page" and No religion is acceptable other than islam. what you think about this attitude of a All knowing formless allah .
I have asked you because if you have studied all religions with unbiased nature do you think yess there's nothing like quran?
Hello and thanks for watching and thanks for your question. If I understand you correctly, I think that it isn't hard to find voices within every religion that say bold things like "our religion is the best religion." That kind of exuberance is understandable as some individuals within a particular faith have truly life-changing experiences and feel great growth and joy. They simply wish everyone could experience what they've experienced. And they probably have next to no knowledge or lived experience of what people experience in religious traditions other than their own, so they say things like that. I don't pay too much attention to it. To me, it's just like fans cheering for their team at a football game. There's no harm in it.
