Plot twist: This joke was used by one of the writers to get a free car wash.
That's a twist
Or they lost a bet with a member of the animation team XD
Its very twisty
5d chess move.
And not pay the animators
That one time when the animators got the voice actors to wash their cars. Nice one animators. Nice one.
Would be more funny if they are cleaning cartoon Network executive or some animator car.
Evan Rogers quirky like,em like the show.
Yeah
Except the script writers made that happen.
That's why i love Chowder

OMG I just realized that

Simsnet Well I meant he does other characters on this show so that he's getting paid for more than just the main role, but yeah Futurama is how a learned about him so yeah LOL
asap racc Bender: Hey I think I have a scheme so devious that-
Judge: 500 dollars and time served
Bender: Stupid anti-4th wall break laws, well pay the man (epic pimp walk)
Chowder: Bender baby we love you
Bender: Shut up baby I know it
The funniest thing is, that's exactly how I pictured the kid who played Chowder.
Meh Tell ikr
Other animation studio just get a female adult to voice a kid since it much cheaper then getting a kid (which by law they have to pay the kids much more than a adult actor.)
Jomarcenter Media also because adult voices don’t go through puberty lol. Lucky the show didn’t run long enough for the kid’s voice to drastically change or they would have either had to age chowder or recast.
thechocolate130 they might’ve been able to get away with it. Other cartoons like adventure time, steven universe, amazing world of gumball all had quite drastic post-pubescent voice changes in their protagonists VAs and it was fine
@@mashisseosseo1171 well, then again, character growth is a central ot point i those shows.
Shows like Chowder is just lighthearted fun.
I remember my mom walking in on this scene and immediately turned the TV off because she thought i accidentally played an adult dvd

John DiMaggio can take it, he been there done that
Candi Milo got paid for saying "Coco Coco"
Vin Diesel is being paid to say I am Groot
Yea but he’s also the delivery guy
Imagine thinking being a voice actor is just about what lines you say.
My mans gets paid to say Rada Rada in different tones and patterns. This man is living the dream.
Vs a guy that said "I Am Groot" about 7-14 times in a movie
@Soul wow that is dedication
Imagine also getting paid to make random noises and occasional upchuck sounds as a destructive Pengiun of Madagascar......

Chowder was LITERALLY revolutionary in terms of animation and writing. It was a true tragedy that the show was cancelled after only 3 seasons.
yeah, am glad the show actually got an ending though instead of being cut off
i guess that's better than just running out of funny things to do and losing your charm
@@jasperjazzie agreed.
I think the show started to fall apart as well in the last season (that fart joke episode). Also considering chowder's VA might already gone through puberty, he couldn't keep his role
@@aeoligarlic4024very true. Season 3 felt half-assed at times like they had no new ideas left and kinda gave into redundancy. I think the show had a lot of room to grow myself but it could've ended on a way worse note so I'm happy with it.
@@dariomatzke4778I agree I don't think season 3 was bad in any means probably not as good as season 1 and 2 (it's been a while since I have seen the show) but I think it's better then cut it early on a decent note than to keep it running until it oversaturates and falls into obscurity
You have to understand just how mind-blowing this scene was as a kid.

This show was the first time I was exposed to "Breaking the Fourth Wall" assuming it had one to begin with.
This is more mind-blowing to me nowadays than when I was a kid.
It was, like, it REALLY was insane. Like I remember when I saw it, and being like: "Hehe, those are the actors!"

This is the like the best fourth wall break in the history of television.
in a classic black and white TV show that i can't remember at the moment, the main character goes to the living room and turns on his TV while talking to the audience. he then tunes into his own show to watch a conversation going on in his garden.
Mr110074 it was Garfield and friends if I recall...
Mr110074 Garfield did that when Odie got framed... so he watched the episode that showed Odie was Innocent
Mr110074 Whats a fourth wall break?
Stephen Byrne Breaking the fourth wall is when a character (in a show that doesn't take place in our reality) talks directly to or is aware of the existence of the viewer. Shows like Chowder and Animaniacs are famous for this.
It's even more funny when you reallize that with live action bit they actually saved money on animation jajaja.
Oh dear lord, you're right. Kudos to you, good sir.
Soynereh This joke saved them a few hundred dollars, plus some pocket change from the wash.
And some animators got a day off.
Soynereh
this makes what I just watched even greater than it was before...
Don't you think getting the voice actors together in a room (Known ones at that) and making them wash a car was also expensive
Nah.
This was so brilliantly made. Isn't it good when people actually care about something and are willing to do hard work to make the quality even better? Not giving a half-baked, low effort shows that they hope will work by themselves.

In the past they don't be cheap to hired child actor. Nowadays they just being cheap.
Jomarcenter Media child actors are pretty expensive and troublesome. Forgot if it’s union laws or state laws, but they require supervision from a legal guardian, can only work for a certain amount of hours per week, and their acting must not interfere with their education. And those are just some of the laws that I can list off out my head.
Jomarcenter Media having actual children voice act is tough. It’s just a lot of trouble is all.

how did people ever hate this show? it was so creative
It wasn't hated, it was loved even at the time it was shown, but the stupid Cartoon Network management preferred a bunch of cheap live action programs over Chowder, Flapjack, and a lot of legendary cartoons between 2008 and 2010.
Creative, yes, but I never really enjoyed the setting, and it had its fair share of dumb humor between the creative stuff.
