Yessss. The one major thing that changed me from reading 20-40 books a year to now 70+ books in 9 months: 1) if you don’t get into the book within a half hour or hour of reading, stop and pick a different book. A book that is worth your time you will be hooked from the very beginning. And my second one was to read before bed every single night, even if it’s only 5 mins. With those two combined I was reading from the time I got home from work til like 1am last year which was wild lol. Now I’m on track to read 100 books in 2022 😊

Thanks brother, I used to read daily and most of the time I finished books in one sitting. But after years I have stopped reading and now when I try to start it again, I really can't do it. I can't focus to read a single page with concentration. Sometimes I stay on a page for half an hour reading the same sentence again and again but still couldn't comprehend anything. This video gave me a trigger. So I'll use your tips. And the fact you mentioned that reading after surfing the internet thing is the most important point to me. Because that now you mentioned it, I really went through this situation where I can't read the book but go back to surf the internet again, since that cheap dopamine thing can't be achieved with reading books. So thank you very much for this video.

1 picking up the right book to get started
If you are not a reader till now which means you have not saw the right book
If your reading book but that book is not yours its ok to go to next book
Main thing atleast read for 2mins or 1 page ( front and back side)
    reader profile :
Find which jouner you like you like fiction ( story based , novel, dramatic etc ) or non fiction ( biography, auto biography, facts books , psychology books , science books etc ) but select the book of your choice likes taste and main thing that book should be easy or intermediate also ok but it should not be complex
2 never read a book after the internet
First is book then after reading you can use internet
    You never feel guilty
3 audiobook self help books it gives boasting eg. In gym
4 habit staking , already what habit you have do with next that or in otherwords
Make it easy which means if you have the habit of drinking tea near tea or dining table or tv or visible to your eyes keep that book so that when you are seeing the book , it triggers you to read book.
5 listin to ted Talks , youtube summary, goggle for articles of this books reviews, ted talks of this book or authors interviews

Best way to develop any new habit is to start small. Set ridiculously easy goals so that you quickly get a sense of accomplishment without putting in much effort, and just build up from there. Your initial goal can be as simple as reading one paragraph a day. If it's more than what you're currently doing, it's an accomplishment. After a few days, make it a page a day. Then 2-5 pages a day. Then 20 minutes a day. Etc. I've also found it helpful to read multiple books at once. I alternative between numerous books. I have a different reading list for each day of the week, and spend about half an hour in each book on each day's list. You don't need to go as crazy with it as I do (I keep a different reading list of 6 books for every day of the week, so that I'm always working on 42 books simultaneously, and spend just 20-30 minutes in each, for a total of 2-3 hours of reading a day), but just having a handful of different books to alternate through can help if you're like me and have trouble finishing things because you're too eager to move on to the next.

i started with half girlfriend and to be honest I liked it at that time but when i grew up as a person and a reader i realised that book has flaws. There were problems like stereotyping people, objectifying women, stalking like a creep etc etc. So yeah objectively saying that book is pretty bad but i still love it because most of my love for that book comes from nostalgia.
Luckily soon after reading that garbage i read Harry Potter series and that made me hard core bibliophile

U must start with fantasy fiction. Read books like 'Voyagers of hell' and 'The midnight library'. Both r entertaining as well as very motivating.
