- Hey Curlfriends! As you know I've been trying to deal with my hair color or lack there of lol. I couldn't make a decision to color my hair before my birthday so I decided to go with a temporary color option, gold wax. I saw great results on Instagram and UA-cam but there was a reason I didn't see anyone with grown out roots like mine. Has anyone tried wax before? How were your results? Let me know! Heeyy Jas!! I’ve been gone for a minute,but I’m back. It wasn’t a total fail. It was cute, but I understand it’s not Birthday Hair 🥳🎂. I have never used any products by As I Am. However, I have used the color wax by ORS. When I did it on October 30th last year on dry hair the color Peach it was a hot mess. A few months later I used ORS Golden Bars. It looks bronze in the jar, but it isn’t. I did it on soaking wet hair with my wash & go. It came out much better. Yes, you have to use the gloves because it is very messy. I saw someone do that color you used and Golden Bars on a side by side and Golden Bars won hands down. My color has grown out, it’s only on the ends now.

It’s not what you expected but it wasn’t bad. I didn’t mind it. Probably too much product though. I think it would’ve looked better with bigger curls. I didn’t like the 3 strand twists as much. Maybe flexi rods or perm rods or Bantu knots.

It doesn't look bad at all. You just wanted more of a gold/blond color. I have never saw anyone use the product on dry hair either. It does look like it probably works better when the hair is just one solid color and wet.

My natural hair is a light brown or ash brown almost like what this product did to you roots after you took it out...its really frustrating not finding any person of color that doesn't have black or really dark hair to try out products so I can see what it may look like on my hair
That's how I feel! I'm like a sandy brown and I never find it!

There are other waxes that are better like the Ors Curls (Golden Bars) and the Curlsmith Makeup ones are also good but they don’t have gold

In general, I’m not a fan of these waxes. They just look gunky and heavy in the hair and dry/ashy.
I think I will just stick to permanent color ans glosses from now on. Lol
