@kerrydolan9873 that is a great list thank you for sharing. I will be doing an updated video this year because my collection has nearly doubled since this one was recorded. Keep collecting and I look forward to hearing what you find.
I also couldn’t really get into This Is Hardcore or their earlier album His N Her’s, but Common People was one of my favorite albums of that time period. The Pulp song on the Trainspotting soundtrack is also really good.
Nice channel! Where on earth did you find a copy of the Dharmas album? I have the MP3s, but have been trying to find a physical copy for years, but with no success. Keep up the good work!
I picked it up of eBay. I had to have a saved search for Dharma's CDs. It eventually came up for under £10. It comes up once or twice a year. I got it last year. Thank you for the kind words. It is really hard to get noticed. Any help you to spread the word of the channel would be greatly appreciated.
Magic hour, give it another go, love the title track, she falls, higher, chasing the day. Largely good stuff. Blur 13. Outstanding album. Ian Brown Golden greats is a strong album. Golden gaze is a stomping banger!
I was really into Britpop, but in the States it was hard to hear anything before buying it. I would get NME at a local newsstand and try to buy what was recommended. I have almost all the 1995 cds you showed, but I could not swallow Menswear (did they have another album ever?). I love Pulp, Blur, Casr, Ocean Colour Sense, Supergrass. My Super Furry Animals cd looks very different, it’s called Fuzzy Logic and says 1996 on it.
You don't have Mansun's "Six," album released in1998? That album blows any of those albums on display out of the water, the best album I've ever heard and still sounds more futuristic than anything put out today. Mansun were more of an art progressive rock group so I wouldn't put them in the Brit Pop category. Loved Supergrass and Super Furry Animals who were both amazing too. SFA were more like Mansun, out the outside looking in, an amazing electronic futeristic rock band. Radiator is a very special album, their best for me by far. Six the 2nd album from Mansun just shows me how lazy the journalists were at the time because it's one of those albums that's not immediate but once it hits you it explodes to unveil the genius of it. Sadly most of the critics didn't get it and put it to the side as a pompous album that had to much going on within it. For me it's so much better than anything that Radiohead ever put out but that's just the way it goes sometimes. The Open are another band that had all the ingredients to be huge but they never quite made it. Ian Browns Golden Greats is a top album full of melody and electronic beats his best album for me. There's a very good band called "The Open," who released a brilliant album in 2004 called The Silent Hours and the follow up was just as good called Statues if your interested. They did have some impression on the charts and were touted to be one of the best bands in Britian but they broke up after the 2nd album due to internal infighting.
Thanks for watching the video. I tend to only buy CDS if feel they are a good price. I haven't seen any Mansun except their debut out on my travels so haven't bought it.
@@britpopbuzz8564 You can listen to Mansun Six in full on UA-cam. The Open album The Silent Hours and Statues is up their two. Mansun also have another album up called The Dead Flowers Reject which is brilliant. Draper said it was an alternative album to put out other than Six but ended up being the b-sides to their EPs for the Six album. Anyway, have a nice day.
So back in the day when I was paying attention as Britpop happened, I picked up my CDs as. I could find them. Unless it was a major release where the US had a pressing, finding Britpop CDs was hard and expensive. Back then CDs were about $14-20 each in 1995. I still bought them and they took up quite a chunk of change from my allowance and lawn mowing money!😋 Now I am a bit of an Anglophile so buying most of my albums were solely purchased at import prices ($18-30 per CD) and just finding them were a tall order. I bought all my Pogues pretty much at import prices. So I picked quite a few of these at retail and import prices back in the day. Now about 8 or so years ago CDs were dirt cheap and picked up as many CDs from Britpop, 80s and 90s when I came across them. Many were $1-5 each or "10 for $10" and I bought what I could. Now the prices of CDs are going up because the leaders of musical trends have decided that CDs are cool now that "Normies" are buying vinyl at stupid prices. Now prices have crept back up at least over here in Arizona. The funny thing is that I never stopped collecting CDs as it was my go to hobby as well as buying guitars and gear. I used to get shit from people I knew back in the 2000s for buying CDs at the height of the iPod era. Funny thing is those same people would ask to borrow my CDs to rip them when their hard drives died or they lost their iPod. Funny how that works out. I definitely like what you like amigo but many of these albums kind of weave in and out of the "Britpop" scene. I mainly followed it by buying Q, Vox, and Select magazines as they came on the magazine stands over here. In the 90s I was living in Tampa, FL and Reno, NV so again finding good Britpop and British music was harder than most places. In 1996 I gave a neighbor $50 when they said they were going to London and hitting the HMV store to buy up the Manics back catalog. Still got those CDs. One band I did not hear on here was Gene and the album "Olympian" is probably a Top Five of Britpop albums released. The B side CD was almost as good too and worth getting. ☺️👍✨
Hi thank you for sharing your story. It is very interesting and I really enjoyed it. Gene are the main gap in my collection I am try fill this year. I am not going to pay stupid prices though. I am happy to wait for a good deal. I know several of the albums may not be strictly Britpop. As a whole I like UK 90s indie guitar music and how much it changes from 90 - 00.
@@britpopbuzz8564 Thank you for your response! I love Olympian and the B side album. You are right that it is not worth crazy money but an original CD should be had for under 2£. I bought some used copies for friends for about $5 or less here in Phoenix. Later this year I will pick up Olympian on vinyl, I am not buying hardly any music this year so a higher priced LP is ok with me.
where the hell are your my Life Story albums ... Mornington Crescent and the Golden Mile are classics from that period also Work, Lovelife Miscellaneous by David Devant and Drink me by Salad .... if you have none of these you should get them
@@philjames5410 this video is 3 years old now and out of date. Because I refuse to just jump on eBay and buy what I want it takes longer to fill in the gaps of my collection. I do have both Salad albums from the albums and my collection has grown considerably since this video. What did you mean by Work ? I know Lovelife Lush.
Puressence. Fine album. An overlooked gem! Sharpen the knives, it doesnt matter anymore, both great songs and a very consistent album throughout.
It is a great album.

I must say you have a good collection from 1995 to 1999.
This is a couple of years old now. There has been several additions since this video.
Nice collection 👍 Stick with Pulp This Is Hardcore ; a bit darker then Common People but still a great album
Thanks for watching. I will give TIH another go before the new year.

Fuzzy logic is their first album. Menswear released a second album in 1998. This video is a couple of years old now. I have more.

Hi sorry I didn't reply to this. I did not get alerted to it for some reason.
Your collection incomplete without live suede boots from 92-94 the Bernard butler years.
Do you have any to share ?

James - Laid album is missing. And Morrissey?
I have picked up Laid since making this video. I am missing all the James albums. Also I don't like Morrissey.
