I mean of course? Recording voice lines for any piece of media (TV shows, internet show, video game etc) takes place MONTHS in advance. By the time he reacted to the 4.5 livestream he must’ve already wrapped voicing Cyno’s second story quest and new basic details about it. Of course this likely comes with a signed NDA that forbids him from ever sharing even a minimum detail or even hinting at it in any way.

Looking at leaks is fine in my opinion, looking at banner leaks or beta update leaks to see how you should save your pulls and how strong a character is, should be fine. Story Leaks and Concept Art Leaks however are a fucking plauge and should be the line in the sand because I feel like that's a bigger dent to the development team. Cyyu is so accurate about the concept art is not even funny.
The problem is people who take unreliable leaks as gospel. I saw some people who said they felt scammed when Arle's kit didn't match the pre-beta leaks which ended up being a description of her boss. The concept art one is even more funny that people were shocked that Gaming didn't resemble a concept art drafted a year earlier. I can see the benefit of leaks but I'm surprised by people getting shocked that prerelease content can change.

@@astwicefan5254 I understand the annoyance of that but there are more than 50 characters in this game and that list isnt getting any smaller. Theres no legitimate way to get the characters/weapons you want with no roadmap, so people turn to banner leaks and beta leaks. Even whales do that so they dont sink thousands of dollars into one character and then be broke.
You cant even say "just be patient" because you could be wating half a year for one character, and they could pop at literally any time with zero warning from offical news until its too late.

This is exactly why some leakers choose not to leak very early concept art, bcuz they know odds are good the character is gonna end up looking WAY different when they release.
But unfortunately then the other leakers who only care about clout, will still release them, not even caring about the inevitable confusion they'll cause. I imagine the exact same thing will happen when Emilie eventually releases.
Edit: I do agree with what someone in chat said, about concept art being something for *after* release. Cuz while I do like seeing it, I like seeing it more for a "oh so this is the design process they went thru for this." Though unfortunately it would still cause similar upset as now and, as I mentioned earlier in my comment, some leakers only care about clout, so there's no way they'd be able to sit on something for maybe even a year or so before release. And of course, the issue with Heizou, where that wasn't even a leak. It was just a fanart that got reposted all over the place by trolls claiming it was concept art. (nice to know those a-holes are still doing that with the same incident with mountain shaper and moon Carver! So much so the original artist got their own post copyright-struck by hoyo along with the reposts! They had to fight to get the strike removed on their own art. 😠)

I saw the leaked image, and I don’t understand how people think it’s a better design in any way lmao
The platinum blond hair + the futuristic cat aesthetic don’t fit Sumeru at all in my opinion. The design we got for him is the best MENA representation in Genshin yet if you ask me, but that would not have been the case at all if he kept his old design
Even putting that aside, Genshin (especially Sumeru) desperately needs more dark haired characters, so I’m glad they changed his hair color to fit his character more

The Sethos we're getting is unique is SO many ways, I'm so excited to see him in the story and eventually see his gameplay.

I am curious about something. How long ago did Alejandro record his lines for Cyno's 2nd story quest? That's something I am always curious about when it comes to VA work, especially for Dubs. Like I remember in some cases for movies, often lines are recorded first and the animators work around them, like that's what happened with the Genie in Aladdin. They had Robin do his lines first then animated around that.
I knew a mutual who works in voice acting and he shared few things:
First of all you need to realize that games like Genshin Impact are dubbed, meaning animation and dialogue are already available, it just needs dubbing in the available language. The original voice lines are in Chinese, and once those are done with they get sent to the other dubbing companies of each licensed language to be dubbed (in case of Genshin it’s Japanese, Korean and English).
Normally any voice acting job of this particular nature takes several months in advance to be fully recorded depending on the schedule of the original company (Hoyoverse in China). If I have to make a guess, I say he recorded the lines no less than 5 or 8 months before the livestream of this quest. Naturally to keep the quest a secret and prevent leaks, most VA’s are required to sign an NDA that forbids them from directly or indirectly sharing any type of information on their upcoming work unless an official announcement from the company is posted publicly. Kinda like how Hoyoverse announce their VA for their character on Twitter for example and the VA quote the tweet and thank the company for example, even though they’re likely been working for them for few months prior to the announcement and none of the fans and followers were the wiser.
There’s a lot of work that goes into voice acting and recording and it surprises a lot of people by how long the process takes, but in this industry you have to plan way too ahead in advance. By this logic I’m 90% sure they’re either done with Natlan’s archon quest voicelines or at the very least in the process of it.
@@gamesgal8183 5 to 9 months sounds pretty quick to me for a dub. I remember a voice actor once say he recorded something for a movie and it was a whole year before seeing the final product. While I am just a regular person, I did have inside scoop for a fan project one in the Brony community due to knowing someone, but I kept my lips shut about the secrets since I was asked to and knew better to 'spill the beans' because it was the honorable thing to do. Had to wait almost 4 years before those major secrets were revealed lol. So I definitely understand the importance of contracts in situations like this. Thanks for sharing!
@@Zodia195 ah but do consider friend that Genshin Impact is a live service game. There are several updates that cover many quests and voice lines that needs doing before the release. Maybe it’s different for them since this isn’t a movie where it’s heavy with dialogue.
The 2nd boss of a region has been unlocked from char stories. Wolf from razor, zhongli, raiden, and nahida. Its just weird since usually the fatui boss is in the archon quest.
Well then again, there’s a total 11 harbingers that we have to fight. We fought Childe, Scaramouche, & now Knave. We’ll probably be fighting the Captain in Natlan and the rest will probably be fought in Shnezynha’s archon quest

Reminder, Nahida stated that top 3 harbringers are comparable in power with gods, which could mean that Arlechino, as the number 4, is on par with characters like gnosisless Archons. For example, Raiden Ei when we were fighting her during the Inazuma Archon quest.
Well, Raiden Ei might be a bad example given that apparently she never used the gnosis at all (I could be misremembering information, feel free to correct me)

i think the reason why they're only doing the new quest system for Arlecchino FOR NOW, is because it's something that has to be done manually for each individual quest. It seems like they couldn't find a "fix everything" solution for all quests, old and new, that didn't result in a buggy mess. It is what it is, but at least we know they're working on it.

My memory is a little rusty on Hu Tao's kit but I believe her most valuable trait is her Charged Attack, right? This is also basically the main problem some people have with her since it makes the timing a bit clunky. Her main similarity with Arlecchino is that they can heal themselves with their bursts and reset their Elemental Skill, which infuses Pyro Dmg to their attacks. However, Arlecchino seems to be more valuable through her Normal Attacks (which seem to be quite swift and smooth according to the demonstrations) with the Bond of Life mechanic so that aspect of gameplay might be where she becomes the better version of Hu Tao
Regarding the day restrictions, if they can move that to the artifact domains, I would highly appreciate that as well. That way, we are at least guaranteed the set to farm over it being randomized between the two sets

CyYu's enthusiasm over this has prompted me to reinstall Genshin and give it another go. (Star Rail, my beloved)
Nahida’s and Raiden’s story quest part 2 introduced new weekly bosses as well. And it seems that Arlecchino’s damage is related to her Bond of Life, not her HP, so Zhongli/shielders should work great with her. Based on what we saw in the program at least, idk if there are details that weren’t shown. Also this patch looks super sick, a lot of content.

Concept art doesn’t mean it’s the final product and there’s probably a good reason why it gets tossed out in favor of a better design.
It's funny how Cyno got a 2nd story quest when Vent yet to get one, I'm not the only one saying that.
Anyway, 4.6 already looking amazing, I am currently playing Fontaine archon quest and hope I can finish it before the 4.6 story event ends.
To add more, 4.6 will be my first Inazuma event experience, finally! 3.7's was locked for me because I did not unlock Inazuma back then.

So is Raiden’s second story quest and Zhongli’s. Every nation so far (apart from mondstadt) had a harbinger and other being for the weekly boss (in that order), Fontaine simply switched the order. Other being and then harbinger.

When it comes to people being angry because leaks looked different, same thing happend with Gaming when his drip marketing dropped. People were VERY vocal about him looking "worse" than leaks suggested. I said it somewhere else already but I will say it again. This situation is like when a thief is stealing your credit card information, and than has audacity to go to your house and inquire as to why the information doesn't work 😮💨

Mondstadt Archon Quest gave us Dvalin, while Razor's Story Quest gave us Andreas (the wolf in Wolvendom)
Liyue Archon Quest gave us Childe Boss fight, while Zhongli's Story Quest II gave us Azdhaha
Inazuma Archon Quest gave us Signora Boss Fight, while Raiden's Story Quest II gave us the Raiden Shogun

yeah people arent meant to see the concept art, but it happens and always has for genshin, and if people prefer a different design that they know was actively considered then it's pretty normal to be dissapointed it changed (especially if to a design you dont personally like). seems weird to be annoyed by other people preferring a different character design, unless CyYu meant specifically when people are being unfairly angry/mad at hoyo for changing it.

Okay, it seems that UA-cam decided to delete my previous comment, because all I did was express my concern for finding Tectone and his community’s disapproval of Genshin Impact (this update) a bit toxic. But I suppose I don’t have the freedom of speech here.

The one for Sethos was most likely not him at all, probably some Kirara draft💀 The worst one is probably Clorinde, because her current design is lazy and the worst kind of fanservice possible. Her concepts were all better than what we got😭
The problem with the leaks isn't that people expect the final design to look exactly the same, it's that Hoyo keeps scrapping fantastic designs. I love Gaming, and Freminet, personally. But their early designs were already fantastic, and their final designs are undeniably much simpler and also typical Hoyoverse design. People are mad about Sethos (who I also really love the design of) because the concept art they assume was Sethos (that's not confirmed) was going to be the first catboy character in the game (it still makes zero sense that Lyney isn't one), and now they've once again given up on getting one. It's especially egregious with Clorinde, imo, because her early designs were absolutely incredible, and they refined her down into something boring. Her outfit looks frankly bad, and the only reason people like her design now is because they find her attractive and she has big boobs. Her old designs all had the same basic silhouette as her final design, but they were so much more than just sexy. The problem people have is now that they've seen the giant concept art leak that happened, they can't unsee it. And because they can't unsee it, it's very easy to tell that Hoyoverse is obsessed with playing it safe when it comes to designing new characters. Unique qualities get gradually erased from the characters as the design process goes on.
This also applies to character archetypes and kits. You only need to look at the sheer number of Pyro dps characters and Pyro polearm characters to see that.
