"Boxing is what has given Mexico the most glory, and there's no support for the sport"... Straight up facts 🔥
Yeah true but Mexico has bigger problems to deal with then sports right now, and the current president is trying to fix what 60+ years of corruption did to my beautiful country. I agree with canelo in some things but saying that the government isn’t doing anything is telling me he is misinformed. You can’t fix 60+ years of corruption in just 1-2 or even 6 years it’s going to take a while for Mexico to get back to its feet.
Exactly. Leave soccer alone yall never gonna win a world cup lmao
@@AlejandroRamirez-bv8rc amlo is focusing on too many things instead of focusing on one thing and doing it well. He needs to focus on the cartels. Before he knows it his time will be up
@@esdrasmanrique6457 the Cartels are not the problem.. the problem is the previous government’s and political parties like PRI & PAN that allowed cartels to grow. In addition, watch the documentary “The Last Narc” and you’ll realize how big the issue really is. It’s available on Prime.
@@arsevela33 yes papi
I know he wants to say that the cartels are a big issue but he is holding back and does not want to stand out and be targeted for what he says.

It's a very risky thing to talk about and in public media.

Exactly !
If Mexicans want better for their country, I think it's high time they talk about their problems and not shy from it.
Thank God Canelo was smart enough to not bring up the cartels. They’d probably come for him if he brought that up
@@maverick6775 he can't talk crap about them, otherwise he's dead.
@@maverick6775 lol if you talk about it they kill you. You don’t even have to famous for them to kill you. And they’ll kill your family too. As a Mexican, i can tell you it is not that simple.
I’m amazed to hear this from Canelo to honestly say his country isn’t safe especially coming from a man who really loves his country. Have to pray for Mexico it’s been known for a lot of corruption and evil works
First step to change is to acknowledge that there is a problem, When more prominent people do that then it puts the pressure on the country and the government might be forced to act and do something about the problem. Good on him and others that want their country to be safe.
I agree, Ive lived in Mexico for over a year. Seen and heard many things happen to the locals. As a foreigner, I am treated differently, so I've never had a problem with anyone except the local police. It saddens me to see many bad things happen to the people, also sad that they are used to it so for them it's normal.
Yeah, right. Canelo should at least Google the "business" people who promote, sponsor, and broadcast his fights, maybe then he will understand a little better the origin of the problem of corruption and insecurity in Mexico.
@@MishaElRusito Go back to your own country then.

All of my people in Mexico love their country, but they all agree that’s it’s to dangerous there. The old school cartels at least had respect for the public. These days they’ll do things unimaginable just to get their way. You can’t even go to a store down the block without worrying if you’re in danger.
Mexico is fun for the weekend and staying in the safe areas where cops do their job. Outside of those zones, it's the wild West.

I'm glad he was quick on telling the guy he didnt wanna talk about that subject.
yea he could’ve faced repercussions
There’s no doubt he’s been threatened already with the kind of money he’s carrying around.
It wasnt for fear that he said that to the interviewer. It was because Canelo is very famous in Mexico.... and if he starts talking politics... the oppossition (which is just as bad as the government) will start using his words to attack the government... and suddenly he becomes part of the political debate... and people in Mexico see politicians as a bunch of thieves... so then people will start associating Canelo with this thieves and that’s just not good for his career... if he was so vague in his statement, it wasnt for fear... it was for public image.

@@blindedbytheliiiight1445 Sure, if you get in his obvious way, but an ordinary person who makes his life normal and legal in every sense, has nothing to fear from a cartel, the cartels, as I repeat, kill each other, Mexico has an internal war in which different cartels dispute the zones, and they kill themselves, that's why there is so much violence in Mexico, because the cartels kill each other, but it is not that a cartel goes to a shopping center or a supermarket , or a school or a church to kill people just for fun, those things only happen in the wonderful United States.
