One of this country's biggest boosters is in the red chair. Jay Baruchel is a bona fide Hollywood success story: he's appeared in 'Million Dollar Baby', 'Tropic Thunder', 'Knocked Up', and 'She's Out Of Your League', among many other films. But although he's had some good times in Hollywood, his heart lives here: he co-wrote and starred in 'Goon' about hockey culture, and he literally wears a maple leaf over his heart. Now he's defending a quintessentially Canadian book for CBC's Canada Reads: 'Two Solitudes' by Hugh McLennan.

love how Jay is so proud to be Canadian!
This guys is the definition of a true Canadian. I'm so proud that he's also from my city, Montreal :)
I love this man!
Love Jay!
jay! it's great to see how he's matured since PMK, he's such a bright and funny guy.
Hugh MacLennan is my favourite author - my favourite Canadian author - and his books are a national treasure. Some of his books aren't even in print still.
Also, had no idea Jay lived in Oshawa for a few years. My infamous hometown!
His reaction to the PMK clip was priceless.
Loved this show. I always rented the DVDs at the library
Jay is a great young Canadian, an inspiration to young artists. He shows us all that Canada offers every opportunity...you don't need to turn your back on Canada and go to Hollywood to be successful in that industry..Met him at TIFF 2 years back and he was cool to all the fans.
He is beautiful ♡♡♡
Raised in Montreal though, so it still makes sense..lol
"We have so much more in common than we don't." As an American, I'm so happy you Canadians had the strength and will, when it mattered most, to come together and say as a nation, WE ARE. It was close, but you're a better country for it. And we down here can see and admire you.
Jay was such a cute kid.
jay always says "lock up your daughters"
Hes actually from Ottawa hahaha
this interviewer really knows his shit, his interviews are all great. He must do his own research
One of the many reasons I've kept up watching GST over the years: occasionally Jay Baruchel will come on the show looking like a whole-ass wavy-haired snack
(In American slang. Translated into Canadian: "He's cute, eh?")
George, you're an awesome host but I just gotta say- the hand on the other chair was a bit odd! still a great interview though, don't mean to troll/hate!
dem sneaker bro!
Oshawa represent
Did he and Alison break up? Cause I read an article about her recently and it said "Ex-fiancé Jay Baruchel".
whts name of the short horror film he did of monster in water eating kids
What is Aliphone? I've no idea how to spell it and I tried like 5 different ways in google and found nothing....anyone? Let me learn!
allophone, someone that has another language first language that's not English or french
It would have made sense if you said he was raised in Montreal, but you said you're proud that hes FROM Montreal. Hes from Ottawa therefor you are incorrect and it doesnt "still make sense".
It's true, they did :(
Why?
I'm also from Quebec, and I advise you to PLEASE ignore the separatists. Despite what you've heard, they do NOT represent us. :)
An allophone is someone whose first language is neither French nor English
No idea :( lol
Aww why?
George is greek?
yeah he is! really cool guy
First of all, Degrassi had absolutely NOTHING to do with this video, so congratulations for bringing up a completely irrelevant subject. And second, despite what YOU think of the show, it is the most watched show in Canada for some time now and is and has been seen in over 130 countries.
Ugly bond shakal
I don't disagree. Your statement just isn't true lol.
Québec should have been its own nation.
