not the uploader but yes! i’m relatively new to doing my own gel x but i’ve found i have significantly less lifting if i take the time to blend the edges of the tips. looks better too x
i applied my second set of gel x nails a couple days ago and they popped off the same day with no gel on my nails just the extensions. what do u think went wrong? i did all the cuticle care and prep right idk what’s going on
Not sure what happened in you situation, but In the tutorial here she applies the glue and creates friction by moving the brush up and down fast, the glue goes from smooth on application to a rough texture, once it dries a bit you can see the logo through the nail in the center and she adds a little more glue at the bottom of the back of the nail, then she places it on the finger and cures for 30 seconds.
When I first started using these extensions, it would lift after 1-2 weeks. Now they last for even a month and a half! I'll mention all the steps that I think helped my nails to last longer! - Apply a dehydrator and primer before applying the extensions. - Not apply the extension close to the cuticles. I always leave a space between the cuticle and the extension. - thin out the extension around the cuticles + apply acetone with a brush, to blend the extension to the nails.
This are already done they don’t destroy so much natural nail but nothing it’s stronger than building the nail with forms and acrylic it’s the hardest material the gel it’s softer and with more elasticity and this nails are very similar to nails that you glue only done with gel
They will hold if you want them for just going out for the night or an event but to last for everyday things like showers and cleaning doing dishes no way they will come off I have excellent prep routine and tried to see didn’t last for 2 hours doing all the chores in the house but for going out yes holds fine

For the cuticles u need to have a pusher or an orange wood stick to expose that dead cuticle once it is you can go in and use 150 buffing block or file to gentle go around the cuticle then lightly remove the shine from the nail Make sure to use a cleanser on the nail plate like yn swipe or u can use 91% alcohol I dehydrate then bond and prime my natural nail only For etching the tip a diamond bit works best especially a long flame bit that can get into the pinky nail very well to etch or u can chemically etch the nail with a primer I do both if I do gel x nails hope this helps hun or almost forgot u have only 14 mins from the time you remove the shine to finish prepping and gets the nails on otherwise our natural oils start to come up to the surface of the mail again 😊
I know :/ was just wondering if doing regular cuticle work then using a buffing block on the rest of the surface of the nails was enough for retention?
Extend gel is more like builder gel. Base gel has adhesion elements. You can use base get to attach the nail, but you need base gel between your natural nail and any other kind of gel.
I bought them but they have an apex i like my nails flat even when i use to go to the shop for acrylic nails and every nail was either to wide or too small
An apex is what provides support for the nail so it doesn’t break. Without an apex you would be in for a world of hurt when you break a nail and it breaks all the way into the actual nail plate. It would do irreparable damage.
So my coworker in insists that you should use a sanding band on your e-file to rough up the nail before application. I've always just buffed away the shine with a medium buffer. Is there really that much of a difference? I just feel that I'm damaging the nail plate less using a buffer by taking off less
You need at least 180 grit on your buffer to ensure there is enough texture to adhere. You don’t want to buff the nail plate smooth. You can focus the buffing on new growth only so you aren’t removing layers from the older growth every time.
I bought my natural tips and did it last weekend I did a TON of prep around my cuticle and followed all the directions. Most of them started lifting within a week...even tho I got the natural ones there was a TON of space between top of extension and my natural nail. Not put enough product there were bubbles and then i iput more product it oozed out the sides. I hate it because they are such a pretty shape and look so much better than lumpy dip powder. I worked to file critical line so it fit and the sides covered sidewalls completely. I don't know what to do😢
I've been having the same problem and I think the key is getting the glue right and taking your time with the application before you cure. You should be applying the extension slowly and carefully and trying to make sure there aren't any bubbles and before you start curing and if it's not right try again adding or taking off glue from the extension. I've tried like 3 times in the past week and I think my problem was not bothering to check the application was perfect before curing
Flash cure is juat a quick cure to hold the product in place but it’s not fully cured. You can use a big lamp to flash cure, but the small lamps may not be strong enough to fully cure the product and this will eventually cause skin problems.
@@amalasiridepending on the quality of your gel and the condition of your nails, you may not need bond and prep. Some nails need all the adhesion help, and some don’t. Use alcohol to cleanse after removing all cuticle from the nail plate and “scub” the base into your nails. If they lift at the free edge, you need more adhesion help.
You're likely allergic to gel products (could be another type of allergy also). Sadly, you'll have to remove and find another system without whatever you're allergic to. With any products, avoid touching your bare skin with it at all costs.
Like Lee Press On Nails? They’d work with the cheaper plastic tips…I don’t think they’re meant for nails with an apex. So you’d want flatter nail tips like from Makkart or something like that. These are soft gel, not plastic.

And then do you put builder gel on top or go straight to your colour gel?
i have one question why is this better than just to build the nail as it always was??? please can someone explain to me thanks 😊
The tip is already sculpted and requires little filling if done correctly. It takes about 20-30 minutes to install and is ready for nail art.
This is good for beginners. I like to think of these as fancy press ons.
It's not. With all the prep work and etching you have to do, it takes the same amount of time as a set of hard gel or acrylics.

Pull it up a cm or two if you need it to be larger. File the “ledge” after curing and do a “fill” to make it seamless.

What does chemically etch mean?
It’s roughing the surface with primer rather than physically etching with a file.
Do they last or fall off in a week ?
I always get 3 weeks with my nails.

How much extend gel should I use for the underside of the tip?
