  • Welcome Shiny, Crafty people! Tim Totten here with sewing projects you can do yourself!
This fun project is a little bit more advanced than my first two store-bought quilt hacks, but sometimes it's fun to step up the skill level and see what stuff we can make with a basic store-bought quilt!
Using a store-bought quilt means that for just a few dollars, you can have a customized reversible casserole cover that matches your personal style AND protects your homemade concoctions on the way to a friend's home!
To make this fun reversible casserole carrier, you'll need the following:
1 Store-bought quilt (I used a king-size Walmart quilt that cost $29.95 and this is the second project we're getting out of it!)
    Scissors or rotary cutter
    Straight edge or cutting grid
Binding (from the quilt or store-bought)
Wooden Dowels (12" from Dollar General craft section worked for me!)
    Thread
    Velcro
    Iron
Fabric turning device like "That Purple Thang" or a blunt chopstick
    Sewing Machine
I had a lot of fun creating this design and even won FIRST IN CLASS at the county fair for home sewing!
