Cats are often drawn to sensitive, creative, and/or artistic people. That your "neighbors" come by so often is a testament that they can feel in you what we only can see by the glorious results you achieve. This table is a perfect example.

I think the top of this price is made from one of those round tables that has flaps that fold down to make the table smaller or fold up to make a round table. I think someone took the side panels off of one of these tables to make the top of this table. I think the holes on the underside of this table top are from the hinges that were on the original table. The legs might be the legs of the original table.

Thanks you, Jay, for expressing your thoughts about more than one way to do things, and people having various and legitimate reasons for not doing something the way everyone else does it. I used to hand spin wool, I was self-taught, of course I didn't do it the way the "professionals" did it, but my way worked for me, and I was happy with the end results. If everyone did everything the same way, how boring that would be, and how limiting, less happy mistakes that lead to beneficial discoveries. Thanks for saying it.

It is so important to have inspectors on the job. They keep coming back so they obviously enjoy what they do and the reward they get for attending.
You have such patience and precision in your work, and it really shows.
Wow...The woodgrain on this table is magnificent. I love beautiful wood furniture.
I have some chairs I need to re-glue after 50 years of use.

What a unique table. It reminds me a bit of a surfboard. It turned out beautifully. Personally, I wouldn't know what a project was without regular distractions, especially in the form of furry friends that show up to say hi. They are all so adorable!!
I love watching how furniture restorers handle similar repairs differently. There isn't always one correct way. I like to think outside the box, so I might handle things differently than the next person. I don't have 1% of the skill that you do, but I still enjoy doing little projects for my home. I really enjoy watching you at your craft.

As a California girl, I can't help but see a surfboard or a skim board every time you showed the table top. What an interesting shape for a table! I almost wanted to see a fin on the bottom! LOL! Amazing restoration, Jay! Just beautiful. I'm always impressed with your attention to detail, too. Superb!

This is such a lovely piece, I can not understand why anyone would have wanted to cover that top with anything other than the polyurethane you used. The grain in the wood is beautiful and the base unit came out wonderfully. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to seeing more of your work very soon. 😊

There will always be dissenters. Don't take the criticism to heart Jay. As you say, everyone has different ways of doing things and having found your channel about six weeks ago, I have found a lot of your ways of working very interesting and helpful for when I have to restore a chest of drawers of my own. I love your work and really enjoy watching your well put together videos. And of course, Hugo and the work shop manager are a treat as well! Keep doing you and keep giving new life to unwanted pieces of history😍

Your philosphy matches mine. Even though I absolutely adore cats, too, my philosophy is "There is more than one way to skin a cat." Yes, whatever works to get a job done. We don't need a dogma to achieve a good restoration. By the way, yesterday was the first time I came across your channel. I subscribed and was totally entranced with your resutls. BRAVO!

Oh my goodness this was something else Jay. What a fantastic and glorified piece of wood grain you brought out in that table top. Who would’ve thought it could be that gorgeous. I love all your fur babies and how you allow them to distract you 😻❤️🇺🇸 pssst this is my new favorite channel. I’m binge watching 3 a night to catch up. Love your filming and editing and music. It’s great
