As horrifying as the umbilical cord charger is, I understand the artist's viewpoint a tiny bit. And I am actually interested to see the other such devices that she made.
That artist who made that cord is amazing. Like its creepy but its exactly what it describes and what its modeled after. She did an amazing job. Almost makes me want to buy one if it wssnt so...creepy.
As a horror fan, the umbilical cord one was actually pretty awesome. Reminds me of the practical effects I love in some movies like The Thing and Alien.

That umbilical cord charger must be the weirdest, not to mention creepiest piece of art I have seen in my life. More than an umbilical cord, it reminds me of some alien species out of a horror movie, wriggling around in search of a victim to burrow itself into.
I come back to this video again and again, *just* for the "Umbilical cord charger". I think the concept is incredibly cool and it absolutely delivers! It's a gross looking thing, but I am so impressed by the amazing work that she did in making it look realistic that - to me - it doesn't matter that it's "Eeeww!"-inducing. It's just cool at this point!
The umbilical charger is actually cool as hell. It must take her so much time and care to make each one, and the fact that she kept you updated on every step of the process is amazing. :) Seems like a real passion project.
@Yoshito Tsukumo if that's true then it means he fakes the entire first half of the video where he "searches" for the products. Yeah, kind of a problem
The Philips CD-i story is actually a little weirder than what you described. Nintendo originally went with Sony to manufacture the CD add on. Nintendo then turned around and decided to go with Philips after the deal was already stuck. Then they threw the whole thing away but Philips got the consolation prize of using Mario and Zelda in a few games. Sony, burned by this, turned their efforts into the PlayStation.
I still have and use my GameCube keyboard controller. While Phantasy Star Online has been shut down for ages it still works like a charm. Once you get used to the width it's a solid controller.
13:00 My ears were ringing the whole time ☹ This is actually because of how old CRV monitors work. They produce very high pitched sounds due to a side effect of how these monitors work.
Honestly, the artist sounds so sweet and the charger is really cool if you think about it. I'd have given the artist a quote unquote tip for the hard work she does. She literally hand crafts them herself for your specific phone model, that is some mad respect from me.
But where tf did an idea of some alien human skin moving charger was a good idea I'm genuinely curious as where tf people get some ideas from No hate just imagine waking up one day thinking I want to create a human alien hybrid charger for phones that moves 😂😂
Still, she seems like she would be a good candidate to make props for a Silent Hill live action series or a movie for how detailed she can make stuff like this.@@israellai

Awesome! I have to say (as I haven't seen other comments yet with the same idea), that pulsating phone charger (22:45) looks to be a replica or is based on the movie "Existenz" staring Jude Law which features game consoles known as "game pods" (1999). Very strange yet very watchable movie.
I was looking for this comment.... That's EXACTLY what I thought of when I saw this thing. I think she saw the movie and thought, "Yeah, I can make one of those..."
The GameCube Keyboard controller was used specifically for Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2 as it used a traditional chat system and made it easier. Also the camera on top of the GameBoy Camera can be rotated for selfies (as indicated by the embossed arrow on the grey iris) so you don't need to rotate the whole console to take guess-photos.
