Interesting to note: In cursing the men of the mountain, Isildur was not careful choosing his words. For he prophesied a doom upon his house, the realm of men, and upon Middle Earth, by proclaiming the battle with Sauron would last for an age. He simply should have stopped at, "You are cursed to not live or die until you fulfill your oaths in helping me destroy Sauron". That alone should have driven them to his side immediately. Legolas'a father was the king of the woodland elves...not that lesser of an elf.
The children of Eldron had a choice, to be wholly and completely elf, or to be wholly can completely human.
@@wotmot223 It wasn't the children of Elrond that had the choice, it was Elrond himself and his brother Elros. They were both half-elven, and after the War of Wrath were given the choice by the Valar as to which people they would belong, elves or man. Elrond chose elves, Elros chose man and become the first king of Númenor. Aragorn is descended from the line of Elros, which makes his distantly related to Elrond.
Jeez. Could you imagine if Strider died? These guys would be screwed.
