I mean the correct girl won but the ending felt really sloppy and rushed and somehow was slow paced all at the same time , ichika Nino were poorly handled with fuutaro not giving Nino a proper answer and him not understanding that ichika wasn’t lying about the 5 years ago. The fact that the quints father turns up with no mention before then just leaves again and fuutaro’s choice of yotsuba should have been explored in more detail. But hey a journey is not about the ending but what happens each step along the way
I always wondered why yotsuba wasn't getting much story development. Now it makes sense. She was intentionally staying out of the way. Her sisters sacrificed their grades and futures to stay together with yotsuba. And yotsuba thought getting any attention from uesugi would take away from her sisters happiness. She doesn't have much up there in terms of brains but she's got the biggest heart haha. Also the first and second times yotsuba confessed her feelings to futaro, they were lying the exact same way. I like that moment alot. The ending felt a bit rushed but overall I'm very happy with this series. The depth of characters, the story. It leaves me feeling weirdly nostalgic, and meloncholic. Sigh. Man, what a ride.

Yotsuba really did it. Team Nino here but after listening to Yotsuba’s side of a story, I really think she deserves Uesugi. Not as a promise girl but as girl who helps Uesugi from the very beginning, the very first one to cooperate, and the one who held everything in.
This really reminds me of Yuki and Tohru. Like Yuki was there for Tohru since the start. Letting her live in the house, picking her up from work every night, yet she chose Kyo. Even if Yuki didn’t have romantic feelings for her this is really similar and it frustrates me.
Yotsuba is probably the only one who suffered the most out of the 5 sisters she stood in the side and the shadows as shes watch them all have futaro while she stays in the dark and smiling everything away its kinda sad but at the same time beautiful and in the end she got futaro
As much as this VIDEO makes this more emotional, the ending in my opinion isnt good. So yeah this might be spoilers but.... the ending came waaay too fast and was rushed. While yotsubas backstory is touching (for me like alot I feel her) she never got real character development. And Itsuki helped fuutarou more than yotsuba did in my opinion by telling hin that without him, no obe wouldve changed. The whole ordeal with yotsuba being the bride hjust doesnt makes sense in my opinion and that is what makes me sad

As someone who watched the anime first before reading the manga, I’ve always thought Yotsuba is the best girl from the start (and I love the way you edited this chapter into this video), but I also think that this chapter/video shows why Itsuki will always be my close second favorite. I know the quints care for each other, but I always felt that after Futaro was introduced into their lives, Yotsuba and Itsuki were the only two who seemed to still truly care for and support everyone else.

yotsuba since s1 I always observe that fuutaro is more happy or more likely showing his smile with yotsuba and showing an off face to others. She seems kinda sus bec she is not really showing her presence but that explains it that she just sacrificed her feelings for her sisters. She's so kind and selfless, i respect her a lot and im so proud to be a yotsubaros. Even tho she loves fuutaro for a very long time, she gave chance to others and she is really equal. While others (except itsuki) they are fighting and being so competitive even tho yotsuba was the first girl who started eveything and the reason why fuutaro studies. [SPOILERS] When I started the anime, I was rooting for Miku. I hadn't given Yotsuba much thought, assuming she is the typical airheaded immature genki girl trope (not that I hated her). But as the series progressed it revealed what ticked all characters and I realized how much Yotsuba had sacrificed. I only wished she was happy for once and am happy that the series delivered an ending as satisfying as one can get in a complex love story such as this. A great piece of work!

There was never a fight, the other girls never stood a chance agaisnt Yotsuba, she only gave them the chance, the hope of ending with him, it was her wish. She could simply end the whole show in the third episode.
after reading the manga and rewatching the anime with a friend, it really does emphatize everything yotsuba did from the beggining, and it feels earned at the end, its like a development under the curtains, im happy for yotsuba :´)
The music is just... but man, there’s nothing I could say about yotsuba, I never thought she would lay low like this. When she said at the end just melted my heart. I knew that when she said “I like you” in episode 8 if i remember correctly, I knew that she meant it and see how uesugi would react. When she saw how nervous and surprised uesugi, she tried to make it seem like a “lie” and ran upstairs which I think she cried or maybe thinked about why she said that.
When I found out that they're going to make another ending for the anime(still not sure about this one but I read something like this somewhere) I just got disappointed cus Yotsuba really deserved it.

All the girls deserved a chance with him, but at the end of the day, it's really Fuutaro's choice on who HE wants to be with so I don't really get the hate for the ending. It's probably one of the more genuine and human points of the story, it's their story, not the readers. Team Ichika btw even tho it got really shitty with all the manipulation, didn't really like that, and unforgivable that she made MIku cry. I respect the hustle, but it had a really bad execution.
I pray that Negi sensei would draw a spin off or continuation of the Quintuplets like Yotsuba and Futaro’s honeymoon and raising kids, as well as each sisters pursuing their dreams successfully.
Literally she was always the right one. I'm team Nino but she was always the one who was there. She was the first to approach him after Itsuki turned him away at lunch. She was the first to become a part of the study group. She was even the first one he recognized when they all dressed the same (granted it was because she mentioned her ribbon).
They had been changing some things. The current season so far had skipped Fuutarou and Yotsuba's definitely-not-a-date after all (there are certain fans that might felt it means a different ending is approaching). I get the feeling the show will release it later in the season or if not but a third and final season happened, hopefully that season starts with that arc since the season can practically end on the same thing, but the two are already dating (the romance part of that season will be pretty much on the two alone most of the time as a result).
i just finished reading this series. from the beginning i liked her the most she was just happy to be there for him, she always loved him since they met and never forgot him. The people that smile the most are often the ones that suffer the most, poor girl hid her feelings because she thought she was gonna be burden. i kinda felt bad for the other sisters, but Yotsuba definitely deserved him, as much as he deserved her
I've been team Miku since watching, season 1, - felt like there was no chemistry, or no indicators of interest whatsoever from Yotsuba. But, learning the manga truth, re- contextualizes everything - including the "absence" of Chemistry, the "prank confession" in the living room, the genki girl composure in the flashback, and the running into Fuutaro in the park in season 2.
I never really like how it was revealed it was actually Yotsuba but it does make sense why she doesn't want to reveal it. Uesugi obviously was inspired to be the person he was because of that meeting. He did his best to be very dependable and yet, Yotsuba went the opposite, dragging her sisters along in her failure. She couldn't bear to rob Uesugi of what inspired him so she kept it a secret. Instead, she just supported him from the get-go and she might be the reason why her father chose him as a tutor because she once introduced Uesugi back when they were children.
To be honest, I was one of those people who were quite happy with the ending. Yes, it wasn't perfect but I still respected that she was chosen. Though still, the execution had quite some flaws that ruin the story for some people. It made me sad that some people were just disappointed at the last arc.

Ngl, I was rooting for Miku all the way until it was revealed it was Yatsuba he met as a kid. Then going back and watching Yotsuba's interactions with Fuutarou so much makes sense. My favorite is when they are talking at the mall before the school trip and Raiha makes Fuutarou talk about "Rena." Yotsuba's reactions kill me here.
I liked them all, and after that scene with her confessing to Fuutarou in the anime, I always questioned if she was going to be the wildcard play. I’m satisfied with this, I’m glad they got together and had their happy ending because I don’t like watching any of them being unhappy-especially Yotsuba because she’s been nothing but wholesome and kind the whole ride through, she was actually right behind Miku for me in the runnings lol, so I really love her-, along with the other quintuplets.
I forget where I seen this quote. But it goes as "loving a person at its core is always selfish, like you actually love a person, that in its self is a selfish act" Yotsuba love fuu but also wants the best for him also, she ain't selfish. But in this case fuutaro does. He is selfishly denied the other girls route to pick yotsuba, the one who actually didn't do any romance to him. Fuu basically cut through yotsuba facade she has always being holding, Fuu is that smart. Good on him, and congrats yotsuba. Also other girls while got rejected really really got development from all of this. And that's actually a plus.
I'm an ichika fan, maybe she lie but who am I to judge. Love makes you blind and you would do anything to be together with the person you love. We are humans, we made mistake, but one mistake doesn't make us automatically bad person. but I think yotsuba deserves it. Not that I say the others doesn't deserve it. They all put in the work and I just want to see the fruit of their labor. honestly all of them are best girls but the one who accepted uesugi for the first time no matter what how he was and with open heart deserves it. Still remember that yotsuba is the first one to greeted futarou and the one who helped futarou to gather the others at the first tutoring session.

Oh man I literally cried after watching this video.I can't believe that ppl still said yots undeserved fuu. Eventhough the ending was slightly rushed, she was the one who suffered the most. Always hid her feelings and supported her sisters due to her guilt from the past. Maybe not many notice but because of her past, she was also the first to change into sb who always helped the others rather than herself. Her character just felt incomplete. And thanks to Fuu, she finally overcome her guilt and appreciated herself more. You will only, truly loved the series if you appreciated the characters and the messages the author laid through them.

I binged TQQ in coincidentally 5 days two days ago, at the beginning I immediately became a Yotsuba simp but I felt Miku should win but around the end I was 100% team Yotsuba, but I do agree the last few chapters were messy and a bit rushed
Sacrificing her happiness for her sisters is such a supporting side character move, that's why I love her. Idk about some but I thought that the reason why they didn't go further to show their relationship after the confession is because it's still the same old happy-grumpy thing but add the 'couple' in it, and it made me happy that it didn't change because that's how a relationships works for me. If we saw her making moves and knowing that she loves Futaro then what's the point of the backstory because she literally made herself a SIDE SUPPORTING CHARACTER, I wouldn't be suprised if she didn't get picked because it's always the typical first girl, tsundere girl, and unexpectedly interesting girl always gets the man rather than the good character who was there for them from the beginning . I don't hate the other girls, heck they are fine girls and grown into fine ladies and it feels domestically adorable that they all feel in harmony with each other.
Don't worry guys. I think Yotsuba really is the best choice. Yotsuba didn't want to be special among her sisters so even if they are married. Futaro is still between among 5 of them. Will not romantically or so but a figure that would add on their sisterhood. As it is said in the manga. They would still be together even after those. It's not that their relationship would end there which is probably the most common plot when someone choses 1 among not 2 but 5. But I think the author wants us to understand that choosing yotsuba is still somewhat a road to harem. Their kind of harem and i find it cute. Sorry for my bad English, not my language.
But Negi confirmed that it is not a harem ending. So that wouldn't make sense. Also, a harem means having a specific kind of relationship with the girls and Fuutarou only has this kind of relationship with Yotsuba. And don't forget Fuutarou isn't even interested in this kind of relationship with Yotsuba's sisters and only wants to devote his life to one woman for the rest of his life.
I like the ending a little because it's a bit hard to guess, unlike most anime where the winner is already visible (for example Oregairu only) there are already some hints at the beginning but we don't realize it and Itsuki also doesn't look like Futarou (more like protecting his brother) so he is close to Futarou different from the yotsuba who accompanied Futarou at the start
Fuutarou is looking for a wife not just a girlfriend. He has high IQ and plans for the future. Every genius needs a supportive wife behind him. Yotsuba is the obvious choice if you really think about it.

As someone who watched the anime first before reading the manga, I’ve always thought Yotsuba is the best girl from the start (and I love the way you edited this chapter into this video), but I also think that this chapter/video shows why Itsuki will always be my close second favorite. I know the quints care for each other, but I always felt that after Futaro was introduced into their lives, Yotsuba and Itsuki were the only two who seemed to still truly care for and support everyone else.
Felt like the anime as s2 has made a good job of showing how different Futaro admires her. Dunno othet girls kinda too clingy for a nerd lol but this is anime so hahahahha

I always observe that fuutaro is more happy or more likely showing his smile with yotsuba and showing an off face to others. She seems kinda sus bec she is not really showing her presence but that explains it that she just sacrificed her feelings for her sisters. She's so kind and selfless, i respect her a lot and im so proud to be a yotsubaros. Even tho she loves fuutaro for a very long time, she gave chance to others and she is really equal. While others (except itsuki) they are fighting and being so competitive even tho yotsuba was the first girl who started eveything and the reason why fuutaro studies. Honestly, yotsuba is the main girl of this anime (1st girl, reason why fuutaro changed) and im quite a bit mad (not hate) bec miku got all the attention and all the votes while yotsuba is the most underrated. Others were not contented by the ending even tho yotsuba and fuutaro are meant together. She deserves everything.

i Always loved yotsuba. sure she is a bird-brain and a terrible liar, but thats why she won. Her Feelings to Fuutarou weren't a Lie. She LOVED him since a Long Time. She diden't wanted her Sisters to be sad, tough. She is a PERFECT Sister and a great Girlfriend/Bride.

[SPOILERS] When I started the anime, I was rooting for Miku. I hadn't given Yotsuba much thought, assuming she is the typical airheaded immature genki girl trope (not that I hated her). But as the series progressed it revealed what ticked all characters and I realized how much Yotsuba had sacrificed. I only wished she was happy for once and am happy that the series delivered an ending as satisfying as one can get in a complex love story such as this. A great piece of work!

I'm Team Miku but Yotsuba I always thought was the most underrated girl in the whole series, I'm ok that she won, but the ending was anticlimactic, the mangaka really did Yotsuba dirty with such an underwhelming ending, even if she won

Blinded by their love for Miku (I don't speak for everyone, but there are many of them). Everything is fine with the ending. That's how it should have been. All the girls were worthy. No one was left out, but Fuutarou made his choice. And it is logical for him. We may disagree with him, because everyone has their own tastes. You can make your own choice. That's all.

There was never a fight, the other girls never stood a chance agaisnt Yotsuba, she only gave them the chance, the hope of ending with him, it was her wish. She could simply end the whole show in the third episode.
after reading the manga and rewatching the anime with a friend, it really does emphatize everything yotsuba did from the beggining, and it feels earned at the end, its like a development under the curtains, im happy for yotsuba :´)
The music is just... but man, there’s nothing I could say about yotsuba, I never thought she would lay low like this. When she said at the end just melted my heart. I knew that when she said “I like you” in episode 8 if i remember correctly, I knew that she meant it and see how uesugi would react.
When she saw how nervous and surprised uesugi, she tried to make it seem like a “lie” and ran upstairs which I think she cried or maybe thinked about why she said that.
Probably cried. We never saw what happened to her afterwards, but we probably know what happened.

All the girls deserved a chance with him, but at the end of the day, it's really Fuutaro's choice on who HE wants to be with so I don't really get the hate for the ending. It's probably one of the more genuine and human points of the story, it's their story, not the readers. Team Ichika btw even tho it got really shitty with all the manipulation, didn't really like that, and unforgivable that she made MIku cry. I respect the hustle, but it had a really bad execution.

Literally she was always the right one. I'm team Nino but she was always the one who was there. She was the first to approach him after Itsuki turned him away at lunch. She was the first to become a part of the study group. She was even the first one he recognized when they all dressed the same (granted it was because she mentioned her ribbon).
No need to change the ending. They need to fix the build up if they can..
They had been changing some things. The current season so far had skipped Fuutarou and Yotsuba's definitely-not-a-date after all (there are certain fans that might felt it means a different ending is approaching).
I get the feeling the show will release it later in the season or if not but a third and final season happened, hopefully that season starts with that arc since the season can practically end on the same thing, but the two are already dating (the romance part of that season will be pretty much on the two alone most of the time as a result).

i just finished reading this series. from the beginning i liked her the most she was just happy to be there for him, she always loved him since they met and never forgot him. The people that smile the most are often the ones that suffer the most, poor girl hid her feelings because she thought she was gonna be burden. i kinda felt bad for the other sisters, but Yotsuba definitely deserved him, as much as he deserved her

I've been team Miku since watching, season 1, - felt like there was no chemistry, or no indicators of interest whatsoever from Yotsuba. But, learning the manga truth, re- contextualizes everything - including the "absence" of Chemistry, the "prank confession" in the living room, the genki girl composure in the flashback, and the running into Fuutaro in the park in season 2.

I never really like how it was revealed it was actually Yotsuba but it does make sense why she doesn't want to reveal it. Uesugi obviously was inspired to be the person he was because of that meeting. He did his best to be very dependable and yet, Yotsuba went the opposite, dragging her sisters along in her failure. She couldn't bear to rob Uesugi of what inspired him so she kept it a secret. Instead, she just supported him from the get-go and she might be the reason why her father chose him as a tutor because she once introduced Uesugi back when they were children.
To be honest, I was one of those people who were quite happy with the ending. Yes, it wasn't perfect but I still respected that she was chosen. Though still, the execution had quite some flaws that ruin the story for some people.
It made me sad that some people were just disappointed at the last arc.
I agree with you. The ending is just fine. Let's just appreciate the effort of the author. For those who are saying that the ending is trash, "get lost". They want a different ending then they should create their own storyline.

Ngl, I was rooting for Miku all the way until it was revealed it was Yatsuba he met as a kid. Then going back and watching Yotsuba's interactions with Fuutarou so much makes sense.
My favorite is when they are talking at the mall before the school trip and Raiha makes Fuutarou talk about "Rena." Yotsuba's reactions kill me here.

I liked them all, and after that scene with her confessing to Fuutarou in the anime, I always questioned if she was going to be the wildcard play. I’m satisfied with this, I’m glad they got together and had their happy ending because I don’t like watching any of them being unhappy-especially Yotsuba because she’s been nothing but wholesome and kind the whole ride through, she was actually right behind Miku for me in the runnings lol, so I really love her-, along with the other quintuplets.

Yotsuba love fuu but also wants the best for him also, she ain't selfish. But in this case fuutaro does. He is selfishly denied the other girls route to pick yotsuba, the one who actually didn't do any romance to him. Fuu basically cut through yotsuba facade she has always being holding, Fuu is that smart. Good on him, and congrats yotsuba.
Also other girls while got rejected really really got development from all of this. And that's actually a plus.
I'm an ichika fan, maybe she lie but who am I to judge. Love makes you blind and you would do anything to be together with the person you love. We are humans, we made mistake, but one mistake doesn't make us automatically bad person. but I think yotsuba deserves it. Not that I say the others doesn't deserve it. They all put in the work and I just want to see the fruit of their labor. honestly all of them are best girls but the one who accepted uesugi for the first time no matter what how he was and with open heart deserves it. Still remember that yotsuba is the first one to greeted futarou and the one who helped futarou to gather the others at the first tutoring session.

Oh man I literally cried after watching this video.I can't believe that ppl still said yots undeserved fuu. Eventhough the ending was slightly rushed, she was the one who suffered the most. Always hid her feelings and supported her sisters due to her guilt from the past. Maybe not many notice but because of her past, she was also the first to change into sb who always helped the others rather than herself. Her character just felt incomplete. And thanks to Fuu, she finally overcome her guilt and appreciated herself more. You will only, truly loved the series if you appreciated the characters and the messages the author laid through them.

Sacrificing her happiness for her sisters is such a supporting side character move, that's why I love her. Idk about some but I thought that the reason why they didn't go further to show their relationship after the confession is because it's still the same old happy-grumpy thing but add the 'couple' in it, and it made me happy that it didn't change because that's how a relationships works for me.
If we saw her making moves and knowing that she loves Futaro then what's the point of the backstory because she literally made herself a SIDE SUPPORTING CHARACTER, I wouldn't be suprised if she didn't get picked because it's always the typical first girl, tsundere girl, and unexpectedly interesting girl always gets the man rather than the good character who was there for them from the beginning . I don't hate the other girls, heck they are fine girls and grown into fine ladies and it feels domestically adorable that they all feel in harmony with each other.

As it is said in the manga. They would still be together even after those. It's not that their relationship would end there which is probably the most common plot when someone choses 1 among not 2 but 5. But I think the author wants us to understand that choosing yotsuba is still somewhat a road to harem. Their kind of harem and i find it cute.

I like the ending a little because it's a bit hard to guess, unlike most anime where the winner is already visible (for example Oregairu only) there are already some hints at the beginning but we don't realize it and Itsuki also doesn't look like Futarou (more like protecting his brother) so he is close to Futarou different from the yotsuba who accompanied Futarou at the start
The weirdest "Meta" hint is Uesugis hair having that small bunny ear.
Fuutarou is looking for a wife not just a girlfriend. He has high IQ and plans for the future. Every genius needs a supportive wife behind him. Yotsuba is the obvious choice if you really think about it.
