I'm convinced these cheats are made by a branch of the studio's developers and sold off to the players as a way to earn profit on the side, and they only ban people occasionally since banning them would drive away clients if they did it too fast. The executives of the company wouldn't give a shit since it isn't cutting into their profits and the developers themselves wouldn't care because they'd get paid more money and they could pocket all of it.
Similar to a few MMO companies that have been proven to be operating websites selling gold for their own MMOs, it's not illegal and it's extra money, plus you can literally monopolize the entire market, why wouldn't you do it.
Is it really that far fetched though? Regardless of how you cut it, the developers aren't incompetent they are programmers with backgrounds in gaming. I think it's more plausible that they do this shit on purpose and that they created the cheat engine themselves to make side money because it is extremely profitable for them since no one is there to take a cut out of the money they make for the cheats. There's a third option. Hackers form a sizable percentage of the player base, And if they made the game virtually impossible for hackers, They would actually lose revenue. This means they try to walk a fine line spreading propaganda that they are actually dealing with the hackers but in reality they only ban a fairly small proportion of them in a lame attempt to try and keep everyone happy.

I'm against it for any mp game but every single game is forcing it. I tried playing fornite with my kid and turned crossplay off and it said it would take over 2 hours to find a regular match in zero build... Same when we tried playing mw2. I absolutely hate it.

Crazy honestly and idk how. I was on a purple flame streak at like rank 7 and only bronze 3. I was going crazy solo queuing. All 9 games hard point. 30-40 kills. 100+ seconds on point. And only hitting 30-35 sr. Made me not wanna play anymore. I hit silver. Lost my streak due to connection error and stopped playing.
Kinda makes sense, Activision only really cares about casual players that are never gonna run into cheaters or these lobbies cause they'll probably never get that high up in ranked (could be wrong) so why care about the cheaters when causals won't run into them.
COD is catered to cheaters since that seems to be the only way to actually enjoy it. I used to play maybe 2-3 hours a couple nights a week and still catch some stray dubs here and there. Now, I literally have cheaters in every lobby. and not just susish ones, like blatant aimbot, spin bots. It doesn't matter how well we play because every top 10 has 1-2 squads of blatant cheaters. Really ruins the fun for any legit player...playing 20 minutes just for some loser to insta headshot you while he watched you through walls.

Call of Duty should give the ability to kick players to the players in the lobby for cheating. Some PC games have it where you can actually let the lobby members vote to kick someone and if there's more yes votes than no votes the player is gone and cannot rejoin that lobby. It's obviously not a perfect idea but I think it would at the very least help make the games more bearable to play. I remember Combat Arms had that feature back in the day and it worked rather well.

This shit is RAMPANT in Fortnite too. You have people who full hack and cheat playing in global championship qualifiers, the regional championship and its qualifiers. ALL of the regular weekly cups. Even in just public matches and ranked you will run into hackers somewhat often. People who are just blatantly using aimbot, esp, walls, whatever. I’ve ran into a hacker once in pubs. I was playing with my homeboy and his nephew. Usually me and the homie have no problems even close to that but when his nephew joined it was almost nothing but cheating the whole time. His nephew is legit pro level good at the game and because of that he plays in a hole different tier of lobbies that me and his uncle never play in. With that upper tier of pro level skill comes cheaters that are also playing on the level of legit really good players because they’re using cheats to play on that level. I always thought most of these pro and really good players were over exaggerating about how much cheaters there was in the game. I mean I’m not to shabby myself at the time but me and the homie are nowhere near the level of his nephew and these legit pro players and it took me to play with one to realize how much it must suck to be that good at the game. They’re the ones that gotta constantly deal with this bull sht. lol people that are below and even above average and everything in-between ain’t going to deal with that sht. Another thing that sucks that legit really good players gotta deal with is the idiots that can’t fathom someone playing WAY! WAY! Better than them and they constantly report them. He got reported dam near every single game he played with us because the people on our level keep saying HE was cheating. FYI he definitely wasn’t. It’s like for anyone who knows anything or that decent at the game knows the difference between cheating and legit. They know what it looks like and what to look for. Deep learning should be applied towards anti-cheat software. Reason being, using low-level methods like: are they snapping to heads too fast, are they shooting through walls, are not the only factors. Machine learning models should be trained on a very diverse training set of hacking gameplay and normal gamepley, so that hacking can be identified through a decision making machine learning model.
You can’t win this race against cheaters. The only thing possible would be to use a console. Even there is a slight chance but definetly not as bad as on pc. That’s why I would never play competitive games on pc.

Here’s what they need to do for streamers/competitive dudes that do the game for a living. Give them something where if they feel they’ve run into a cheater, they press some keyboard combination that alerts someone to investigate this match and it gets investigated within 12 hours. What Microsoft needs to do is start suing the hack makers and permabanning players at the PC level. Like, hey, we see your bios or whatever, you are banned from everything.
More people should do this. Xbox and PS4 players should invest in a PC specifically to be able to exploit this, force their hand at making an actual anti-cheat.

I’m pretty sure a CoD Dev is feeding the hack distributors the code and data they need to stay ahead of the archaic anticheat in place. Then the CoD Dev takes a cut of profits.
You could look at cheating/hackers in CoD as a zero day exploit. Where only a handful of people (if not just one) know the backdoors and codes to crack the game's servers and program. That's not cheap information. It's something that could take a team of maybe 50 devs at Activision? or wherever, days, weeks, to years even find. Let alone work around it to block another intrusion. It boils down to money and manpower, and how much the company wants to allocate to that department if it even does at all. Judging how they drop a new CoD every year, their entire team and budget is likely shoved into next year's project already. (Which is ridiculous. Just build a solid base and add from there ffs) But, zero day exploits sell for tens of millions of dollars for that reason exactly. If a team of hackers has found such an exploit, that can stay undetected, and also have now provided a subscription service such as turning the cheats off during investigation, especially for such a mainstream and profitable video game as Call of Duty? Watched a video of a cheater that Expel posted the other day. Cheater said the cheats have gone undetected by Activision for almost two years. Cheater then logged into Apex Legends while the cheater program was still running in the background and he got banned within a few minutes of logging into the Apex servers. Only way the cheats will stop is if Activision starts making the game scan players PCs at login, similar to Apex and Valorant. But we know that won’t happen because Activision makes too money off the cheaters along with the legit players.

Played SnD the other day and the guy was max level 450 head shotting everyone through walls and killing our entire team in the first 10 secs. He was open about it too. We were up 3-0 and then the kid goes "ok, time to get sweaty" and his buddy just laughed. Then he goes full rage hack and obviously nothing happens to him. How can their anti-cheat not recognize when a guy is shooting 99% with 100% headshots with an LMG... like give me a break. The top kills guy on WZ has like 18,000 more kills than the 2nd place guy with a 18.5kd in gulags... Hey COD, he's obviously cheating. Figure it out and quit making the game free so these guys can't just create a new account.
and if you report them they put you in shadow ban lobbies for the rest of the day up to a week and this has happened to me multiple times, why because their anti-cheat can't detect their cheats otherwise they would've already been banned but instead it lets them continue on the whole match just peek shotting with any gun they can switch to and if you piss them off enough they'll pick up your gun and do it some more
"you get what you pay for" is the most fitting cliche for anti-cheat, so many games have so few cheaters, especially in their "ranked" or sweatier type game modes. you can play 4000 games of halo without ever seeing someone spinbot a server or levitate mid air and telport. I see videos like this every other day with games like CoD and Apex, its crazy. Go try to boost someone up to a high rank in CS2 and watch how fast the entire party catches a vac ban.
Just to answer your question on if hackers play pubs: For every blatant cheater you see like this, there are easily 10+ closet cheaters who have their cheats dialed in to look legit at a glance. They've made CoD a nightmare at mid to high levels of play for quite a while now. I always keep a full stealth setup (in this case, Assassin Vest + Covert Sneakers + Suppressed Weapon) handy to swap to if I suspect someone is cheating. If they're still preaiming me around every corner, then it's pretty obvious they're using a wall hack bare minimum.
I mainly play escape from tarkov and cod and its like deciding between stepping on legos or taking a razor scooter to the shin. The only good outcome is Ive started playing some of the steam sale games Ive bought. Such a crappy time for games right now.

It is so bizarre. Just by analyzing game data (by AI) it would be so easy to identify a hacker. Accuracy, head shots, wall bangs, total kills. The metrics of a hacker must stand out like a saw thumb, even if they are being careful. I suggest Activision have an other agendas when it comes to this as I don't believe the studios are that incompetent.

I think it’s one of 2 things. Either they can’t afford to ban the accounts because they don’t want to get rid of a large population of active accounts. I think the main reason for hacking and being allowed to blatantly hack is that the developers profit somehow from it. It cannot just be big egos. if so many players complain and spend less time in the game, then that's bad for business. These guys are also being rewarded for progressing unfairly. Here's an easy fix. Disable cross plate or make it so that you don't have to use. Cross plate to find a match and I've noticed. If you don't use cross play, sometimes you wait for like 3 hours to find a single game. Fix that shit and then we won't have these problems

Account bans wouldn't be enough either. Need IP bans or perhaps even MAC address bans to prevent reoffenders from making tons of throw away accounts.
Cheating services offers spoofers to mask your hwid and all those other things. Nothing will happen to cheaters until they stop being lazy and put funds into the game's security.

The funny thing is I know this video is old but on Consol like PS4 and all that you can still find cheaters no matter what I ran into so many but some of them are chill because some of them will just give you a rank up

This shit is RAMPANT in Fortnite too. You have people who full hack and cheat playing in global championship qualifiers, the regional championship and its qualifiers. ALL of the regular weekly cups. Even in just public matches and ranked you will run into hackers somewhat often. People who are just blatantly using aimbot, esp, walls, whatever. Its insane and idk what game companies are going to do about it because its really bad.
I’ve ran into a hacker once in pubs. I was playing with my homeboy and his nephew. Usually me and the homie have no problems even close to that but when his nephew joined it was almost nothing but cheating the whole time. His nephew is legit pro level good at the game and because of that he plays in a hole different tier of lobbies that me and his uncle never play in. With that upper tier of pro level skill comes cheaters that are also playing on the level of legit really good players because they’re using cheats to play on that level. I always thought most of these pro and really good players were over exaggerating about how much cheaters there was in the game. I mean I’m not to shabby myself at the time but me and the homie are nowhere near the level of his nephew and these legit pro players and it took me to play with one to realize how much it must suck to be that good at the game. They’re the ones that gotta constantly deal with this bull sht. lol people that are below and even above average and everything in-between ain’t going to deal with that sht. Another thing that sucks that legit really good players gotta deal with is the idiots that can’t fathom someone playing WAY! WAY! Better than them and they constantly report them. He got reported dam near every single game he played with us because the people on our level keep saying HE was cheating. FYI he definitely wasn’t. It’s like for anyone who knows anything or that decent at the game knows the difference between cheating and legit. They know what it looks like and what to look for. Most people are just butt hurt because they got sht it on.
Deep learning should be applied towards anti-cheat software. Reason being, using low-level methods like: are they snapping to heads too fast, are they shooting through walls, are not the only factors. Machine learning models should be trained on a very diverse training set of hacking gameplay and normal gamepley, so that hacking can be identified through a decision making machine learning model.
You can’t win this race against cheaters. The only thing possible would be to use a console. Even there is a slight chance but definetly not as bad as on pc. That’s why I would never play competitive games on pc.
If it had pure training data, that would be the hard part.
But I agree that AI or a personal ID system are a couple of the only answers left.

Here’s what they need to do for streamers/competitive dudes that do the game for a living. Give them something where if they feel they’ve run into a cheater, they press some keyboard combination that alerts someone to investigate this match and it gets investigated within 12 hours.
What Microsoft needs to do is start suing the hack makers and permabanning players at the PC level. Like, hey, we see your bios or whatever, you are banned from everything.
Only way to truly stop it is making laws that make cheating illegal and with jail time. It’ll start making people think twice about it
More people should do this. Xbox and PS4 players should invest in a PC specifically to be able to exploit this, force their hand at making an actual anti-cheat.

You could look at cheating/hackers in CoD as a zero day exploit. Where only a handful of people (if not just one) know the backdoors and codes to crack the game's servers and program. That's not cheap information. It's something that could take a team of maybe 50 devs at Activision? or wherever, days, weeks, to years even find. Let alone work around it to block another intrusion. It boils down to money and manpower, and how much the company wants to allocate to that department if it even does at all. Judging how they drop a new CoD every year, their entire team and budget is likely shoved into next year's project already. (Which is ridiculous. Just build a solid base and add from there ffs) But, zero day exploits sell for tens of millions of dollars for that reason exactly. If a team of hackers has found such an exploit, that can stay undetected, and also have now provided a subscription service such as turning the cheats off during investigation, especially for such a mainstream and profitable video game as Call of Duty? That's fuck you money right there buddy. A number so ridiculous anyone who hears it just says fuck you. Little doubt/hope the big wigs in the high chair would ever consider coughing that up for anything besides a court order. What that lawsuit would look like, or how one could even argue for that in a courtroom is beyond me, but yeah. I truly feel like that it's a matter of money and time.

Watched a video of a cheater that Expel posted the other day. Cheater said the cheats have gone undetected by Activision for almost two years.
Cheater then logged into Apex Legends while the cheater program was still running in the background and he got banned within a few minutes of logging into the Apex servers.
Only way the cheats will stop is if Activision starts making the game scan players PCs at login, similar to Apex and Valorant. But we know that won’t happen because Activision makes too money off the cheaters along with the legit players.
I'm the one to think that cod and Activision are also behind all these hackers and are getting a piece off of it, there's thousands of 12 y/o kids out there buying 100$+ hack packs, it's a multimillionaire business, also mint content brotha you gained a follower

Played SnD the other day and the guy was max level 450 head shotting everyone through walls and killing our entire team in the first 10 secs. He was open about it too. We were up 3-0 and then the kid goes "ok, time to get sweaty" and his buddy just laughed. Then he goes full rage hack and obviously nothing happens to him. How can their anti-cheat not recognize when a guy is shooting 99% with 100% headshots with an LMG... like give me a break. The top kills guy on WZ has like 18,000 more kills than the 2nd place guy with a 18.5kd in gulags... Hey COD, he's obviously cheating. Figure it out and quit making the game free so these guys can't just create a new account.

and if you report them they put you in shadow ban lobbies for the rest of the day up to a week and this has happened to me multiple times, why because their anti-cheat can't detect their cheats otherwise they would've already been banned but instead it lets them continue on the whole match just peek shotting with any gun they can switch to and if you piss them off enough they'll pick up your gun and do it some more

"you get what you pay for" is the most fitting cliche for anti-cheat, so many games have so few cheaters, especially in their "ranked" or sweatier type game modes. you can play 4000 games of halo without ever seeing someone spinbot a server or levitate mid air and telport. I see videos like this every other day with games like CoD and Apex, its crazy.
Go try to boost someone up to a high rank in CS2 and watch how fast the entire party catches a vac ban.

Just to answer your question on if hackers play pubs: For every blatant cheater you see like this, there are easily 10+ closet cheaters who have their cheats dialed in to look legit at a glance. They've made CoD a nightmare at mid to high levels of play for quite a while now. I always keep a full stealth setup (in this case, Assassin Vest + Covert Sneakers + Suppressed Weapon) handy to swap to if I suspect someone is cheating. If they're still preaiming me around every corner, then it's pretty obvious they're using a wall hack bare minimum.

It is so bizarre. Just by analyzing game data (by AI) it would be so easy to identify a hacker. Accuracy, head shots, wall bangs, total kills. The metrics of a hacker must stand out like a saw thumb, even if they are being careful. I suggest Activision have an other agendas when it comes to this as I don't believe the studios are that incompetent.

I think it’s one of 2 things. Either they can’t afford to ban the accounts because they don’t want to get rid of a large population of active accounts. They probably wouldn’t want to fall under a certain threshold of active accounts. Or the population of pc gamers is so small they simply don’t want to.

Btw the hacks clearing the AC screenshots has been a thing since last year. Since when the ice hotel map came out in mw2 I spoke to a dude that was telling me the hacks actively deleted 20 screenshots during that game session alone, guessing every time someone spam reported.
apex legends has a discord with the devs where they let you post clips of people cheating and theyll ban them. why cant a company as big as this do that for cod
I think the main reason for hacking and being allowed to blatantly hack is that the developers profit somehow from it. It cannot just be big egos. if so many players complain and spend less time in the game, then that's bad for business. These guys are also being rewarded for progressing unfairly. They're well motivated!!

Here's an easy fix. Disable cross plate or make it so that you don't have to use. Cross plate to find a match and I've noticed. If you don't use cross play, sometimes you wait for like 3 hours to find a single game. Fix that shit and then we won't have these problems

And they let the streams not get banned for the marketing as well. It’s a will racket. Cuz like you said it’d be easy give the biggest streamers a way to contact a dev in real time. The hidden Mmr of everyone means the good streamers get a higher frequency of cheaters unless of course they’re manipulating where they go. But have a task force of sorts working concurrently with streamers and start banning these dopes in real time.
