Yes, I had to remake some parts of the script again. I originally recorded on October 10th 2022 but 3 days later Vocaloid 6 came out so it took some time to fix everything. Apologies for the amazing upload schedule. Next one is Touhou (maybe), sorry Vocaloid fans.

confession time: I used to not like gumi for some reason. But I learned to love her voice SO much, and im sad shes not getting as many bangers. I like Vflower and KAFU too but... gumi...

always thought it was impressive how many varied and expressive voicebanks gumi had. i remember being stunned when i initially heard her english vb.
What's surprising about her English voice bank having good pronunciation is that, from what I've gathered, Nakajima-San can't speak English herself. At least, I haven't found any clips. I've always been impressed with people who may not speak a certain language, but they can sing in it just fine (Rainych being a good example). Just thought that would be worth sharing.
I’m also hopeful that with gumi getting some songs into project sekai she gets introduced to newer fans that way. I feel like vocaloid and other singing synths are definitely swinging back into popularity so it would be great to see it spreading to some old favorites.

As a person who owns 3 GUMI voicebanks, whose first Vocaloid song was Ten-Faced, whose favorite Vocaloid song of all time is Yowamushi Montblanc/Coward Montblanc, (2nd fav song of all time) and who's had GUMI as their favorite Vocaloid since the age of 11, I thank you for this.
you forgot to mention that before synth V came out, and all this ai stuff, gumi was the ONLY ONE who could actually speak english without needing subtitles
Gumi my beloved, back when I was newly fascinated by vocaloid but Miku's voice hurt my ears, Gumi was there with her unique, softer voice and absolute bangers. Now I love all my precious vocasynth children but Gumi will always hold a special place in my heart.
Gumi has the advantage of already having a good english voicebank on top of her japanese voicebank and with vocaloid 6 allowing users to implement both languages onto the same editor (which im sure will make it much easier for producers to implement English into japanese songs and vice versa). I have hope we’ll see her regain popularity through more songs in the future. Especially with games like project sekai featuring songs sung by her. I’m excited for her future

Kasane Teto just had both her 15th Anniversary happened AND finally received a real commercial voicebank on SynthV! Would love if you could explain the story behind Teto and how impactful she has become in the Vsynth scene especially Utau as she basically became the face of Utau!
gumi is always a welcomed voicebank in songs for me. she has so much range and her english is absolutely wild.

im not a vocaloid user just an enjoyer but gumi was always one of my favorites since always so its nice to hear with v6 there will be maybe a good future for her :3 also is it me or....ALOT of gumi songs talks about love but not just that like sad love songs ? i dunno why but many songs i know of her are around these themes and so it give me the feeling of gumi not being the most lucky girl towards love life xD
Gumi has honestly always been my favorite vocaloid, of course I love other vocaloids, but gumi always had so many bangers, and many of her songs are actually my favorite songs. Gumi has a special place in my heart, I've loved her songs for years now. Live laugh love gumi

I miss vocaloid 2, I fell in love with the robotic voices.
GUMI's voice is incredibly versatile. I was so used to her in pop songs and loved her being used by Hachi and MachigeritaP when I was younger but I am really enjoying her in metal as I got older. Undeniably my favorite voicebank. Her GUMI AI hasn't really captured me because I truly enjoy her without the extra effects to her voice. I am sad she's not as popular but the Western audience love her and she's excellent with English songs.
Funny coming here after Gumi had SynthV VB announced! Gumi is everywhere and I really love how eclectic she has proven to be, multiple voicebanks and softwares. I'll always have her above Miku in my personal ranking.

UGHHH I've always loved Gumi for some reason, I could never figure out why. Maybe just because Hatsune Miku was everywhere and super hyped up (don't get me wrong, I love her too), I was happy that I found my own vocaloid to love idk. Any song I listen to that has Gumi in it, I immediately love.
Fantastic video davee!!!!!! Hands down the best you've ever done! The script was airtight and so dense with intesting information and the editind was just chef's kiss!! Definitely worth the long wait for this one! Can't wait to see what you put out next!!

1:24 The reason it’s “poid” instead of “loid” is because in Japanese, Megpoid is spelled like “メグッポイド” (meguppoido) and the “ッポイド” (ppoido) part is a pun on the words “ロイド” (roido/loid) and “っぽい” (ppoi) which means “similar to” or “-like”, making her name literally mean “Meg-like loid” behind the pun! Same thing for Gackpoid and Gachapoid.
Awesome video! To this day I still believe Gumi is the ONLY Vocaloid that can compete with Miku & Crypton in the market.
I find it quite interesting that Gumi will soon get a SynthV voicebank despite having a V6 voicebank
I wonder if you can do a breakdown of Kaai Yuki, I literally never heard of her before and after Inabakumori popularity spike suddenly a lot of vocaloid producer has been using her more and more too. Nulut and Balloon was pretty suprising for me in Miseen, I thought they would only stuck to Flower, Miku and Gumi but that wasn't the case.

Well, Gumi is carrying the Vocaloid 6 software, making her be kinda popular again, I think she will become the new face of Vocaloid and keep Vocaloid alive a little while.
Although it was a shame she didn't switch to SynthV or CeVIO AI, I'm curious about how she would have sound. But in part I'm happy at least one character that is very familiar to us Still being what she was, a Vocaloid.
I love SynthV, but I also adore the robotic sound of vocaloid, so I like gumi V6 a lot
GUMI is definitely in my top 5. She has lots of great bangers, thanks to Kira. Also need an IA video next.

I don’t own her V6 but her V4 Japanese complete and V3 English, I think she’s overall versatile and fantastic.
I think V6 is great for those who want make Megpoid sing in Mandarin Chinese (YAMAHA added that through update) or sing English with improved smoothness.
Her V3 English is well known for lacking vowel to vowel transition altogether and people needing to adjust phonemes to get around it (using semi vowels /j/ and /w/ for example). Her V6 has none of problem what I’ve heard from other users.
The fact V6 got complete setup including pilipino based vocals when Japanese for English it's kinda complicated

Gumi was my favorite since I was little, gumi’s English used to be unmatched. She’s so awesome, I don’t love her design redo I miss the old one but v6 is amazing.

I still find it hard to believe that ECHO has the second most views of any vocaloid song, and people still don't know thst the characyer in the video has a name, lore, and features in a lightnovel based on the song, which also has an english translation. Like seriously, why is this not common knowledge?

Vocaloid 6 also has VocaChanger, which means you can upload a voice file and make the Vocaloid sing in the style of the original singer. TORA_V4 did this with a Gumi AI cover of “All I Want for Christmas Is You”, and man… it sounds amazing.
Out of all of them, I do gravitate to Gumi.
Coward Montblanc was the first song I ever heard in the Vocaloid fandom! I was in middle school when I first found out what it was and I was a Gumi fan the most instead of Miku. Miku is really cool and all but, my heart belongs to Gumi Megpoid💚

Disregarding rooting for the underdog, I just really enjoy her voice. Add to that the good English and great English songs and you got yourself a GUMI fan. I so wish she could rival Miku, so that there's some fun on the scene, but I will be happy as long as she survives.
However, if I were to imagine that crypton acquired rights to her and promoted her (she still has a following of as we all know), it would make me happy as well. I just want the girl to be famous lol.
