Some of these were heartbreaking. I wish you included the French Open scene where Carlos Ramos called her for coaching. Who knew what that would foreshadow. Those last two matches changed Venus forever.

Venus at the 2009 US Open Doubles Semi(?) press conference after the Serena-Clijsters incident is def another dramatic moment. The way she stood up for Serena and being cutoff mid sentence was so inspiring!
Thanks a million for uploading this! After Seles retired, I adopted Venus as my all time favorite. She has always been the epitome of grace and class. With that said, I needed to see these moments of rage just so I can be sure she is human. Venus chances are you may never read this or know who I am. But I so love you. Thanks for making me love tennis!!!

Until this day it blows my mind how they thought the beads were a disturbance. & the commentators saying "it's not allowed, she's been warned". Question, did they realize that her only options would be check all the breads & double tie each end or take them out? All options would take longer than a 1 min break 🙄 It's really sad how Venus(+Serena) were treated but I'm glad she defended herself regardless.

@@smallfire93 Beading up the hair alone can take an hour. So to give her a warning in the middle of the game & expect her to make a change is irrational but they didn't understand the process & didn't seem interested in trying to learn either.
So have they rearranged a rule within a once white dominated sport? Is it considered an accesorie? A wardrobe? Or what?
@@oatsgoats39 At the end of the day, the problem had less to do with safety & more to do with them not liking or respecting her culture. To call the beads a "disturbance" is not a safety call but it's how they'll spin it of course. It's passive aggressive racism🙄

Penalizing a point for the beads falling out is racism at its’ worst! As Venus said, her opponent was certainly focusing on the serve and not her hair.

I usually like Venus, but that beads incident…And that was a lot of beads falling on the court. It could potentially cause injury to herself and the opponent when step on it.

@@lanceking3147 A *good* player could easily slip on the court with the rapid movement and direction shifts needed. And if the umpire was able to see them falling he has to call bc he cannot assume if the other player is distracted or not. Same for any equipment or materials falling off. You get a let first and then loss of point the second time.
