I loved this !! This was great, even though you did miss some notes (which is not a big deal especially with this piece), I still think you nailed the rythm and emotions !! Bravo :)
I was very curious how this piano piece will sound when it is played by a mostly self-taught. Especially as this is one of the hardest pieces one can play. And I must admit, you played it very good! I had to compare your performance to the one of Dmitry Shisnkin and needless to say from a world-class pianist it sounds better. The slow parts with more expression and the fast one with more accuracy with less slur between the notes. Please don't take this words as something negative, you played very good! Please take it as big compliment I compared this to one of the worlds best performances today.
Thank you, I do indeed take it as a compliment! To be fair, it's not close to one of the hardest pieces, it's just the tip of the iceberg, and I still struggle with it. It is very hard to make the notes, especially in the fast passages, sound distinct and still shaped properly.
