In my opinion, for a first timer in Lomé, you're staying too far away from the city center. Those areas (where you're staying at) used to be small villages that became part of the city not too long ago (2014). Personally, I think it is very inconvenient. There's nothing there to see. I would have preferred locations such as Nyekonakpoé( not far from aflao border), Dekon, Soted, ablogamé, baguida, avepozo... Somewhere closer to the beach and city center where pretty much everything happens in Lomé.
As a person who grew up in the outskirts of Lomé, i cannot agree more. I think Adidogomé is too far from the city center and that wouldn't allow you to see much
I’ve lived in both countries and I can tell you exactly the difference between. If you looking for somewhere calm with peace of mind and security Togo is the best. Ghana is developed country but depend what you want, Ghana has a lot of pressure with a lot of trafics everywhere and life is very expensive. You can survive in togo with a little money and also they don’t increase things prices everyday like in Ghana. So visiting both countries is worth it.
Prices don't increase everyday in Togo because it's a duty free country unlike Ghana that has import duty and relies on the dollar rate. So when dollar rates goes up prices go up. This is why prices are changed all the time in Ghana because everything is based on the dollar rate.
Hi Ama. I don’t know which side of Lomé you are exploring, but the places I have been to have been nothing but top notch. You should probably link up with some middle class professionals and upper class friends, so they can show you the other side. You won’t be disappointed🤣. I do agree that Ghana is much more developed, but we are getting there.
Aw Jasmine, I'm loving this. One of my great-uncles studied in Liberia in the late forties which was rare for Haitians to go that far at the time and recounted to my family a few stories about Liberia, Ghana, Benin and Togo. I'm not sure why but Togo had a lasting impact on him apparently. Thank you so much for showing us Africa, I don't take those videos for granted at all as I know that it requires time, and money to travel but what a treat for us viewers. I laughed a bit at the man checking the cutlery and every single item in that apartment, that makes me wonder if they are just peculiar or have issues with theft in the area. I can't wait for more🤗
There’s beauty in the people and the land. Thanks for showing us a bit of Togo. It may be undeveloped but the veggies and fruit look sooooo good! The Creator kiss the land. I wish our natural elements was as luxurious!!! Going to subscribe to Christelle’s channel.
It was nice to see Togo through your eyes. Underneath the dusty roads and underdevelopment is a lot of love and kindness from the people that is hard to understand. Vivi Africa!
To be fair... I think to really enjoy Togo and explore the in and out, the hidden gems, and the must sees, your tour guide needs to be A Togolese. No disrespect to Christelle❤ whatsoever, and I'm a fan of her channel, but she is still exploring Togo through her 3 years living there. She can only show you what she is used to or know. Trust me, a lot happens in Togo 🇹🇬 that even some Togolese are not aware of 😊 and that's a fact. Anyways, thank you for visiting, and I hope your stay was memorable. ❤ 🇬🇭❤ 🇹🇬 one family
You should show her around 😊 BTW Siesie.. if you're still in Lomé... or at least link up. Well, if she hasn't left yet, of course. ❤ I'm sure you know who I am 🤭
Nice seeing you visiting Lome I know you had to go to that supermarket Champion they are quite expensive I love my Lome because of the quietness for some one like me who have to deal with the hustle and bustle of New York City
This video bought back fond memories of my visit to Togo. I really enjoyed it I stayed near the border of Ghana and Togo and the bonus is that I can understand and speak French. I did not go through all that “red tape” procedure at my accommodations. I stayed in a villa that could house 5 plus people with a huge courtyard and the owner had a drinks business in which he shared his drinks with us.
Welcome to Lomé Jasmine. As a person who grew up in the outskirts of Lomé, I think Adidogomé is too far from the city center and that wouldn't allow you to see what the capital city has to offer. Sorry your stay wasn't up to your standards. Hope you get to come back to Lomé and stay in where the action actually is and also get to go to Kpalimé, Atakpamé, Aného and many other places that show the beauty of Togo 🇹🇬😊.
Jaz dont foget to mention that Ewe/Volta Region of Ghana used to be a part of Togo. The language and the people are the same except for the French. A lot of Ewe have relatives in Togo and live interchangeably and vice versa.
Baby Girl Jas 😂😂😂. Your host Crystal has a beautiful personality. Jas driving a Porsche or the Tricycle which do you think is more of a challenge 😅😅😅. Great video waiting to see the next 4 days. Big up Togo. Oh by the way that "funny fruit" 😊we have it in Jamaica both the sweet & sour one we call it Starfruit some say Jimbeline big debate leave it there.
Love how honest you are Jasmine 😊 This is why I keep coming back to watch your channel. Keep on keeping it real. Looking forward to watching more videos from Togo and hope you decide to travel to more African countries , will be here, on my couch joining you on the ride. ❤
I have been to Togo. Lovely and calm people. Stayed at hotel de Napoleon. Loved it. Will go back. The lovely guide and her baby are beautiful. Yeah following my dream ❤
Born in Accra ( Ghana).grow up in Lome before coming to the US 🇺🇸🇺🇸was in vacation last year with my wife and son landed in Accra before coming to Lome ( Togo) they didn't Accra Ghana this was their first visit to Africa They prefer Lome very quiet
I agree. Have family in Ghana and Togo Living in the US now, but everytime we go visit Ghana and Togo, my kids prefer Togo. Please Jasmine, don't judge a country base on one side of the town you are living at. And besides, Togo is not just Lomé. .. There are beautiful people and cities across the whole country.
You will like more lome.also Opera fast food is not to far to where you stay you can eat there, they have breakfast, lunch , diner menu better, then where you friend just take you. Even more clean and classic....take care jasmine...

Tilapia used to be cheap , u can get it fresh and cheap by the togbaato river next to le togoo . Yhhhh togo is calm thats one of the things i love about togo,
Your first video outside of GH is brilliant. Togo however I hope you will discover later can be exciting with some fine hotels like 2 fevrier and sarakawah. Anyway do enjoy your stay in Lomé.
The place where you stayed with christelle is the outskirts zone of LOMÉ (Sogbossito, Legbassito...) if you want to see the vibrant places in lomé, you need to visit places like Baguida, Tokoin, Adidogomè douane, djidjolé, Avédji Limousine, Agbalepedo... I am a Togolese
Hello like your videos. But i have a little problem with the video! I'm not even from Togo, but we all Africans, we need to uplift each other. You don't go to one country and comparing them in the video. You can do that when you get back home, or off camera. The media have done that to us for so many centuries. It's time for us to uplift each other, to support each other because we're all the same people ! It was no border before colonisation.
We really need the comparison. It helps us to decide where to migrate to for business, tourism and so on especially when we are on budget. So, this is a great work👍

Considering the dollar rate to the cedi in Ghana, Togo is quite expensive in my opinion
Trust me... when it comes to food, it's cheaper in Togo than Ghana. I have families that come to Togo to stock up and even sell back in Ghana.
