"We met Blue October many, many years ago. Both bands are from Texas. We played shows together (I have a great story about a Yogi Bear cookie jar that I will save for another time). Then toured together. Then ended up with the same management company, that we still both share. Most importantly, we became friends…Family if you will. I always loved their music. But I think it was from as much of a curiosity stand point, as it was just liking what I was hearing. And maybe that is whey they are as successful as they are. The combination of both is something you just don’t find everywhere in music…Especially today.
The song “HRSA” is a true story. I think I was about 25 when I sat, sharing a bottle of Jack Daniels with Justin in a shitty hotel room, while we were both on tour supporting Sponge (The USA one…Not the UK one…That is Spünge). I asked him about the man in the song. And the nuns that prayed for him. I listened to all of it and I was fucking fascinated! This was REAL! Like, REALLY real!" - Jaret

I totally agree. I hate to bust on them but their new stuff is terrible. I won't even go see them in concert anymore.. once CB Hudson left the band all the rock influence went bye-bye
I have a bunch of advice for people to be happy.
All happiness stems from gratitude.
Comparing yourself to other people merely serves to depress you.
U=I-R
Unhappiness=Image-Reality
Don’t focus on your missing tiles in life, instead focus on the ones that you do have.
All by themselves, these pieces of advice will make a beautiful, happy, kind world.
It may be hard, even painful, but it is rewarding.
Here’s to hoping that BFS sticks around until 2085!!!

Blue October helped me when I wasnt in a great place. When Justin sang he just understood everything I was feeling. I hope this song will help your fans too get through the bad days. Trust me, it does get better.

I love this so much. Blue October helped me so much and it was so relatable but I would turn to Bowling for Soup for my "happy music". So I cried when I heard this, tears or sorrow and happiness.

Thanks for this beautiful cover. It's uplifiting to see many people have suffered from mental health problems and managed to deal with them. I experienced depression for many years but it hasn't come back for 2 years now and while I feel like I didn't live while I was depresed now I feel younger ;) Every cloud has a silver lining.

Truly inspiring you guys, personally been dealing with really severe mental health problems since I was a teenager. I’m 36 now and without bands like this I wouldn’t have gotten through it. Physical pain drives me crazy and I'm scared by what my thoughts want to do to comfort my body ànd quiet my mind. Suicide is only a passing thought but my faith is constant. I fought for this life that has me trapped in a body that torments and refuses to cooperate with my mind. Blue October validates my churning mind and every so often, provides a reason to smile and life is so good for a few moments. My thoughts can't be as crazy as they feel or Justin wouldn't have the same, Blue October wouldn't exist and there would not be so many loyal fans. This sucks and I hate me today but I will get back up: Blue October will be here in four months and only God can cause my seat to be empty. Sharing your thoughts has helped so many. Thank you!
