5 signs you might be dealing with a troll
Everyone knows the standard advice “don’t feed the trolls,” but how do you apply it when you’re not sure if the person on the other end of the connection is a troll or not? Our default instinct is to assume that the person who’s provoking us is sincere, though that’s frequently not the case. That’s why it’s handy to keep an eye out for the red flags and warning signs that will help you identify if you’re dealing with a troll.
    1. Trying to evoke an emotional response
Being that this is literally in the definition of troll, it tends to be a good baseline indicator of trollishness. Trolls exist for the sole purpose of upsetting people. If you spot someone who seems to be deliberately stirring up trouble-by starting arguments or intentionally posting inflammatory content-they may very well be a troll. So when you find yourself getting emotional in a social media exchange, stop and ask yourself: is there any indication that this person isn’t sincere?
    2. Entitlement
People who are inclined to troll others often have an inflated sense of self and the worth of their own time. Many trolls appear to operate under the assumption that the world revolves around them-or at least that it should.
    3. Hyperbole
Social media trolls have a tendency to exaggerate. A lot. They like strong words like “never” and “every” as opposed to the typically more accurate “infrequently” and “some,” presumably because these extremes are more inflammatory.
    4. Making it personal
Rather than discuss the matter at hand in a reasonable and logical way, trolls like to make things personal with ad-hominem attacks, which attack an opponent’s character rather than their argument. The use of frequent name-calling often helps identify this red flag.
    5. Poor spelling and grammar
Trolls belong to a part of the internet that appears to never have seen the English language before but nevertheless wields it with reckless abandon. Their posts are often riddled with misused words, the wrong homophones (there, their, they’re; your, you’re; to, too, two; etc.), and other crimes against grammar. Trolls will often break other conventional writing etiquette by skipping capitalization altogether or, alternately, writing in ALL CAPS, misusing punctuation (or disregarding it entirely), and communicating in fractured text-speak, riddled with misspellings and nonsensical abbreviations. They’re also more likely to swear than the average social media user.
In a recent study by Cornell and Stanford universities, Antisocial Behavior in Online Discussion Communities, researchers found that language used in posts was a good indicator if a user would be banned from commenting in the future. They wrote that future-banned users’ posts “are harder to understand by standard readability metrics.” Additionally, they found that, “They are also more likely to use language that may stir further conflict,” which they clarified as including “less positive words” and “more profanity.”

I just gave my 8 months old black & tan bloodhound pup to a good friend of mine. He was the sweetest dog I've ever had in my life but he was at times very difficult for me to manage and/or control on a daily basis . His home now is with other hounds and working dogs and I will be following him through the woods this fall in pursuit of a wounded trophy buck !

My dad played hide the three treats with our hound. Get the dog outside and hide the treats in the house. Once in, he always found every single treat every single time. Great fun.

Hey DogumentaryTV, love your channel. Not sure if you'll see this, but I really appreciate the way you present your information in a informative rather than emotional fashion. There's too many "dog-lovers" in Western culture that now they're overly romanticized and everyone believes that every dog is good, is nice, and can be trained to do anything - that every dog is a mini-human stuck inside of a dog's body. I love dogs, but you've got to both respect and dominate the animal for it to love and respect you. I also really appreciate your expression of the working side of dogs (I personally have a close love for German Shepherds and breed them myself) and one thing that really made me gain respect for this channel is in your video on game pitbulls and remaining neutral over it (I personally don't support dog fighting, but it is important to know that game pitbulls are essentially working pitbulls doing what they were meant to do and knowing the origin of the breed shouldn't be covered, but faced). Keep up the good work and I would love to see more stuff on German Shepherds (I've seen all your videos on them and love each and every one)!

Thanks for that wonderful compliment. You get exactly what my vision is for this channel. Please share with as many people as possible. I think my track record shows that the more money this channel makes the videos get better and more videos get posted. Thanks again!

my blood hound is very easy to deal with and he does not ever tare up anything in the house. He is never locked in a crate he roams the house freely while I'm at work 8 hours. The best behaved dog I've ever had. He gives hugs constantly and is very funny to watch. He is now 6 years old . Get one they are fabulous pets in every way!!!

I have two bloodhounds and I spend almost 24 hours a day with them. If I leave them for any long amount of time ( 3 or more hours), there is something usually destroy something. This breed is a challenging breed. They have pushed my truck windows off track and even smashed through my truck window and house window. You must always keep this breed on a leash or a wall like Ft. Knocks. They will smell something and take off. I had to shell out 1k in reward money to get them back!! They are sweet dogs but can unintentionally injure small children (they have bullwhip tails that can harm if smacked in the eyes, dagger like claws that scoop into skin when they jump on someone). I love my bloodhounds but I feel a bit trapped in the sense that I couldn't have a job away from them without facing serious issues with behavior and damage to property. You must spend a lot of time with this breed.

    • @novagames3486
      @novagames3486 7 років тому

tslmiami I love my bloodhounds like my family. They are loving and rewarding but be prepared for the time you have to spend with them to keep them happy living inside your home. Have a block fence wall (they will bust through wood fences) and a decent concrete perimeter that they can't dig through. Mine are a full time job and even then, if I leave them in the house too long, they do damage. Neuter and spay. My female was past due on spay when she started ovulating and she ripped through an entire door frame to get to my male. I got her spayed immediately after. I now have a fertile male but have 40 acres of land. I would love to breed my own next generation but it's even more of a challenge with the males. I may have him neutered because I'm not sure I can handle a litter of them.

Amazing breed for sure but mine required more maintenance than my English bulldogs this breed is in my opinion is meant for families with lots of land and space it is almost impossible to restrain them to backyards and long walks they need space and lots of it freedom to go and come as they please almost like a farm dog

I'm adopting my Mom's older (~7 years old) Mastiff bloodhound mix soon. I'd love to help keep his mind and body healthy and strong as he ages; do you have any suggestions for tracking/scent based games I could try with him? He doesn't get much mental stimulation or exercise at my Mom's place right now (part of why she wants me to take him, I'm much more physically active than she is), so any ideas on keeping this nice old boy sharp and happy well into his golden years with me would be appreciated :)

".. was created in medieval France" ? Get your fact rights!
The Bloodhound comes from Saint Hubert (Belgium), the monks created the breed.
They gave some dogs to the French King as hunting dogs.
"Le chien de St. Hubert" went to England few years after where it became known as "Bloodhound"
