My cousins husband played bass for America in the 70's. RIP David Dickey.
RIP
One of the greatest, most underrated bassists of the 70s! RIP
❤
Great bass guitar from America I was friend of Maggie in Facebook.
Always be remembered wide word..
One thing is AMERICA with Peek, when Dan left the band America was over in 1977
Greetings from Ecuador western south America
America is timeless. I still feel like they are in their 20's and the Dan is still here with us.
Yup and I am still 12!
I never thought I'd live to see this masterpiece performed live! This is beyond rare!
Dewey's voice was awesome back then...gives me chills
Still is.❤
Amazing voice!
Fantastic! Back in the day when music was live and bands had real musical talent. "America" will go down in history as one of the greatest rock bands of all time! Thanks for the music & memories Dewey, Gerry & Dan!
I’m 63 I was 13 when my brother turned me on to America and this was the album. It is in my top 5 of all time - saw them in concert that same summer at Saratoga performing arts Center in New York. My first concert! Man I’d love to here this whole record live!
I'm Blown away! Fantastic!
I haven't heard this song in many years until now but I really enjoyed it and it was an awesome 70's sound. i was 9 years old during this time 1973 and i just turned 60 last week Thank You.🎶🎤🎸🎸🎹🥁🎶
I hope they release the whole show - When they started releasing these songs, I could tell by what the guys wear wearing. It was the hatrick era because of those funky throwback 1800s three-piece suits.
The best harmony ever. America 4 ever and ever❤
I've been listening to them from the beginning. My first album ever was their first album. My parents got it for me for Christmas right after it came out. And now, for the first time in my life, I will be going to see them live in about 2 weeks. Can't wait!
Wow. Never expected this. Can't wait to see and hear the performance of the full suite. The Hat Trick album was my personal soundtrack growing up in the 1970s. Got the album for Christmas in 1973. A masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.
You and me both brother! Used to listen to this album still do still turn people into it skipped the first song and it’s absolute perfection
Fantastic! Nothing better than a great band with multiple vocalists!
I was getting ready to graduate high school 1973. Love America ❤
Me too! They came to my town in May of 73
@@gibsonguitarplayer. I saw them in Seattle in January 1973.
Love it! One of my favourite bands in the 70s!!❤❤
This was the best line up of America. David Dickey added so much to the group. I've seen America over 50 times they are awesome live never thought I'd see the do Hat trick live.
My favourite song on my favourite America album. This concert is so clear and well recorded. All the clips so far should be put into to one long stream or available on DVD.
I still am a fan of this band, but until today, i ve never heard the "Hat Trick" album. This Is a great track. I will hear the complete album. Later years AMERICA albums such as "PAGES" (they recorded other artista songs), Is great
Wow excellent live versions of these songs!
DAN WAS GREAT WHAT A VOID HE LEFT IN THE GROUP.
What a great band. Thanks for the video. They belong in the R&R HOF!
Definitely!!!
I have seen America many times but have never heard them play this song...this is pretty cool.
Me too! Hard to play live, definitely a studio type of song.
What a big space Dan Peek left when he gone from America 😭
Most of their classic hits were composed while Dan was in the group. His contribution was immense.
@@MultiXmas2011you have got right there, the best songs and albums were made with Peek time..
This band never be the same again in his history
How to forget the most marvelous band through the 70S, AMERICA THE TRIO.
I RECALL YOU EVERY ONE OF YOU, HERE IN SOUTH AMERICA, FROM ECUADOR 🌹🌹🌹❤️🙏
*Beautifull America, I will love you until I die*
💙
Excellent , no pitch correction or auto tune. This is how it’s done 👍🏻
I forgot how beautiful is this song .. great video
‘Newton-under-Roseberry Topping’ is just a 90 minute drive north of me on the edge of the North York Moors. Been listening to this album since it first came out - only noticed the place on the map decades later.
Yes - I am from Hull and Dewey was born in Harrogate.
@simonmason8582 Grew up in Birmingham but lived last 45 years near Beverley
Keep these vids coming from this show!
Listen two this wonderful classic band! Just fantastic!
Wow, what an awesome live version...
Great Band with such a good sound..!
*I can't live without You my fantastic America*
🔥💙🔥
My step-cousin gave me the America America and ELP's Trilogy albums before he committed suicide. We used to go on Easter Egg hunts n ride horses on Adams Road before the Silverdome was built north of Troy, Michigan. 🙏🇺🇲
🙏 For your step cousin🙏
America, one of my favourite bands ever.
I’ve had a crush on Gerry Beckley,,, Forever,,,
Something about those musical men. 💖 What a great band!
Great performance 💓💓
I had just turned 7 yrs.old, when this was done.
Thank you for this gift.
I treasure old song videos like this!
It gets me thinking, and remembering how young men were back then.
The hippie generation.
When I first listened to this album…
…the possibilities were endless.
The possibilities.
My all time favorite America album! Very underrated.
I like Dans 'yeah' at 1.20. ❤️
Greetings from Cebu City, Philippines. Never missed their 3 concerts in late 1992, launching of Here and Now album in 2007 and had a very brief chat with Gerry and Dewey that time with my wife and also sometime in 2009. I'm now 54 and I grew up listening their music since in the late 70's on radio, my few collection of cassettes, vinyl, CDs and now thru the internet through the years! My wife and even our daughter love their music. Thanks for the music and the memories!
The lyrics to alot of their songs are an enigma to me.
According to Dan in his book, this song was directed at him for his downward spiral in the band.
I think they are a mystery to everyone! Fragments of ideas all mixed up with some sort of never-ending symbolism which is nonsensical but to themselves. It’s a pity - but then they were young. Their lyrics have improved since then and they don’t have to conceal what they want to say any more, or just babble.
@@afterlate8866 I absolutely love America.
@@mdhunter0366 Wow. Thanks. Dan was a major part of America.
@@afterlate8866 I appriciate that. I understand more now.
LEYENDAS GRACIAS 🤩🤩😍🥰👻🎸🌠🌅🌹🎶🎵👍👍🥲🥲
I agree I thought I would never see this performed live, one of my favorite acoustic bands, especially as a trio, their genius as far as I am concerned is with Crosby stills and Nash, my all-time favorite solo artist Dan Fogelberg, I still have followed and bought all of Americaalbums over the years, but I truly missed Dan when he left the band, but I understand his leaving in order to follow his Christian walk with Jesus
Wow .... Great 8 plus minute song !
You guys are truly great love your music and always will thank you so much for sharing.
Wow! Fantastic! Thanks so much!
...la voce de Dewey... Spettacolare!! ❤
Thanks for posting this.I used to listen to the hat trick hearts and holiday albums as well as homecoming years ago repeatedly love them all these guys as another poster had said in the past at once are accomplished at a younger age they've done what older musicians have done and I just love america
I like it nice voice i love america
Juste une merveille ! What else ?
I used to drive thru Newton under Roseberry when I lived in Yorkshire
I remember watching this on BBC 2 and for years after I could have sworn that they played hattrick live on this show. So much so that I thought that I had imagined it. They hadn't even started recording the album yet. They went back to LA and began recording the album on the 29th May. In my humble opinion this is better than the album version, even though Bruce and Carl from the Beach Boys sang background. I think they also played sumarine ladies in this show.
I sure looked forward to what song is coming next from this wonderful session. As they have the style of the Hat Trick cover shoot I figured something would come from that amazing album. 6th song in and it's the title track, such a surprise and it's stunning. Submarine Ladies would be perfect but I'd love anything from it (apart from Muskrat Love maybe).
Love this band
Thank you!
I remember.
Absolutly fantasctic!!!
What an amazing find - my all-time favourite America track!
Freakin Fantastic!!!!!
Can't wait for watching this gem
Lovely people! ❤
All my Life….👍☘️❤️😇😘
Awesome video! and wonderful song!! ❤❤❤💖💖💖
Fantastici...❤ Li ascolto da sempre... Il sound dei miei 18 anni....❤
The first time I listen to this song 👍🏼
I like it😘
Sorry I never saw America live...😿😿
Those harmonies. That musicianship. Those 3 were/are special. Why wasn't this a single? Or was it the length of the song that did it in as being a potential individual release? Thank you, Gentlemen.
Hey Dewey, I hope you held onto that very rare Gretsch Roundup. It's worth a fortune these days 😊
Looking forward to watching this gem. So fine great❤❤❤
Wow what a selection we have had from this little intimate concert. The first surprise was Head and Heart and now this! I must say Hat Trick here is stunning. Hard to imagine that they had not even recorded the song yet, this would come in the following weeks.
We have had 6 songs now from this session, what's next? I hope they can this concert on streaming or a CD.
These 3 guys were all US military brats that met up somewhere and formed this amazing group loved them always
America __ 🎉🎉
Everything about this is excellent.
The song, the performance, the picture quality all superb.
Does anyone know the full list of songs performed for this event.
Alan, its kinda fun to wait, they are all brilliant so far.
Great song. Rip Dan Peek
SISTER GOLDEN HAIR.
İ am crazy like america 💞
I can hear the infulence of the 5th Beatle. The REAL beatle.
❤❤❤
What I wouldn’t give to hear willow tree Lullaby live
Singular. You guys didn’t need George Martin. This was the apex. Hat Trick can stand up against any album by anyone.
Agree. I much prefer their strings additions on Hat Trick way more than most of what GM did subsequently.
❤
This is excellent! Please tell me there's a live version of "It's Life" coming soon from this same collection!
Where can I buy this dvd please?
RIP DAN PEEK
Did he say rent-a-cop? woah..
The BBC are dreadful these days, I hate paying a bloody Tv license. BUT thank god they recorded this!
GOD'S GIFTED 144OOO. WRITTEN IN THE STARS AND THE GOOD BOOK. REVALATIONS. 😊❤
Guess these are sons of the past
PROPHECY
Horrible. Not one hit garbage
