Puzzle toys, and snuffle mats are great for mental stimulation, which is great for dogs who aren’t tired even after hours of play and walks! Or for those days where you can hardly get out of bed and pup still needs some exercise
Lol he so cute 🥰 my husband has three dutchunds and I think they would probably just fight over the treats in the puzzles and possibly destroy it to get to the treats lol. Love the keep off rug 😆
I taught my dog to either use ‚mouth‘, ‚nose‘ and ‚paw‘ first before i introduced him to puzzles. This way i can give him clues when he looks at me. Obi did so well without any training! Real good boiiiii
Obi is a lovely dog, and you should looked into making your own puzzles for him, like he have to work a ball though a maze, and when he gets it out of the maze then he can roll the ball around to get treats out of it, I like his collar, I know I have not got a dog at the moment but when I get a place I thinking of getting one, and wonder can you but the dog collar/cat collars at you shop, plus also are thinking of making your own puzzles ranging from level to level ten? Well done Obi for doing the puzzles, maybe Chris if you want try to do this puzzle again and level four which he needs to turn/move before he can open the draw like on this puzzle level 3, by place some sort of dog teat paste which he licks to make it move for few first times ie five times, so he learn that if he move this first then he can get to the goodies which is hidden
You should have put a treat under only a few of the bones on the level one puzzle, so he would have to smell which ones they were under to make it harder.
I’m a licensed vet tech and this is in no way cruel. It’s actually amazing! He’s engaged and learning, while getting treats at the same time! For a dog that will eat quickly, as you mentioned, this is a great way to slow them down so they don’t throw it all back up. Great entertainment for him!
I got a level 2-3 puzzle for a cat last Xmas. He absolutely loved it! He used his voice buttons to demand puzzle treats constantly. The puzzle had options to make it more difficult as the cat understood it better. But he could solve it at level 3 within five minutes. I’m not saying cats are smarter than dogs, but MY Black Jack was brilliant.
There’s a company that makes an interactive game for dogs, that gets progressively tougher as the dog figures it out. You might get them to send you one for review! I’m envisioning you coming into the room and finding that Obie has disassembled ALL your puzzles looking for more kibble.
First of all, the second level 2 puzzle might as well be a hot dog toy because the moment he saw that thing the treats lost all of their puppy appeal. 🌭💕 I also believe that he would have gotten the level 3 puzzle on his own if you had waited for him to get a little hungry and let him do it all by himself. I don't think your "helping" him was really helping. He's not just a good boy. He's also a smart boy! So smart that he knows if he sits there long enough Daddy will do it for him.
This was such a fun video. Getting your dog in on the puzzle solving action is good content AND great for Obi, especially since he snarfs his food down like my dogs do. I have one of the “snuffle mats” similar to the 3rd puzzle in the video but I haven’t tried it out with them yet. This makes me want to film them trying it out just in case they do something interesting while using it. Thanks for sharing Chris and I’m totally happy to watch more videos like this one. ☺️👍🏻
Thats pretty impressive for Obi's first go, and our labradoodle would have gone crazy over the hotdog as well, bloody brilliant video Chris, and yes definitely would like to see Obi try some more puzzles 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
Chris: Do you think that when puzzles get hard I give up? Me: I seem to recall someone giving up on excalibur multiple times and only finished it after strong pushback from fans and help from one Mr. Puzzle.
This was so much fun! It's definitely one of my favorite videos that you've made. Obie's just adorable, and it was really interesting watch him problem-solve. It was also hilarious watching him play w/ the second puzzle. I think that level three puzzle was poorly designed, however. The puzzle didn't weigh enough, so it kept sliding around, the drawer handles didn't stick out far enough, and it wasn't far enough off the ground for Obie to get underneath it. The other puzzles were perfect, though, especially the second one, since it set up the conundrum of, "Do I play w/ the hot dog, or do I find and eat the cookie?"
I have the same puzzles for my chihuahua mix. That level 2 blue one we upped the difficulty by putting the treat in the hole of the slider. So he has to move the clam shaped lever out of the way, then slide the slider to the hole, move it away from the hole, then get the treat. He solved that as well in under 5 minutes. Dogs are amazingly smart!!
My cats love the second puzzle! I got in on a whim at the pet store. I wonder if they'd be interested in the other ones 🤔 I'd love to see more dog content!
Love that you're raising awareness of puzzle feeders for dogs! They're such an important tool for any dog owner and amazing at keeping them happy, stimulated, and tired out! Our chihuahua goes nuts for a puzzle feeder, she's incredibly smart but has zero interest in trick training, so solving problems like this really get her working her brain. A tip for using more advanced feeders is to train in stages so the dog doesn't become frustrated and give up. So first you may have a drawer slightly open, then it's all the way shut, then one of the bones is slightly turned...and so on until all drawers are fully locked.
The level 3 reminded me so much of when I was trying to get my dog to understand how one of his harder puzzles worked. He just clawed like crazy and I tried to make him understand what to do😂😂
I laughed entirely too hard at the puzzle with the hot dog and cookie. Obie viewed them as the treat/toy so much he forgot about treats. lol. Edit: after watching the whole video....You can tell he is a scent based dog, he goes to where the scent is and just pulls at where the scent is. So the puzzles where its simply flipping or digging where the smell is he is good at. If he has to move something at a location that doesn't smell of treat he ignores.
Saw this and had to get some for my cats! They absolutely love it! My one prefers a ball you have to roll and treats fall out But my other cat solved this really complex one. There's a cap that covers a hole, you have to move the cap out of the way and slide an upsidedown cup that's covering a treat over the hole and then move the cup out of the way I even hide treats around the house sometimes for them to hunt down! I'm trying to teach them tricks too like giving a high 5 for a treat or jumping over my arm. They are progressing well! :)
My black lab loves these. We made the 2nd puzzle more difficult by putting a small treat in the peg that holds the flipper. So the dog has to move the peg away move the flipper, then put the peg back over the hole and move it away to get the treat. Makes it last longer than 5 seconds for her.
Now, I'm not a dog psychologist or whatever you'd call it, but I'm almost certain that Obie understood exactly 0% of the mechanics of those puzzles. I'm sure he was just like "oh snap i smells treat lets claw around here a bit and bite everything" and suddenly stuff came out and he was like "yay i gots treat" without thinking anything had anything to do with anything else Also, your dog is so extremely cute words fail me when I try to describe it, please give him all the pats in the world from me
I think half the fun for Odie is to try and tackle these puzzles together with you. You holding them down means there is some of the good old tug-of-war interaction going, and in my experience dogs of all breeds really enjoy that.
Awesome idea for a puzzle video! Cool seeing his temperament change when he decided to give the hotdog a hiding and when he got fed up on the last puzzle.
I'm so happy you've combined puzzles and dogs 💚💚💚 I feel like a crow would do really well on all of the puzzles If you have a puzzle like the first two you don't have to put treats under each one, just do a few them they have to search harder without eating too much
Listen, Chris, I watch all of your puzzle videos, all of 'em. I was hoping I'd come home after a long day to have a drink and watch a puzzle solve. First video on my feed was this.... as it turns out, Chris, I'd 1000% rather watch your dog do this. Clearly you're a professional crowd pleaser(duh), so carry on. All of my love. - Augustus.
@Chris Ramsay Love to Obey/Obi/Obie or how you spell it😅🥰 I have now 1 Jack russel girl, few years earlier i had 3 Jack russels the mom and 2 puppy's the mom has got the age of 19,5 years old, 1 of the puppy's 9 and the 1 i still got is now 15 years old almost 16 she is doing great, still doing stuff like a puppy💪
Super cute, made me lol 😂🤣 I have a boxer and he loves puzzles, he loves working for his cookies, his favorite is his cookie ball, he gets to throw, toss and slam it to the floor to get his cookies. He is so excited to find new ways to get them out. It's also fun for me to watch him figure it out, he gets mad when he is out of cookies but still wants to play and he will be 13 yrs old in 4 months. So keep working with Obie he will gain more patience and keep working to understand them, one thing I learned is make one drawer a jackpot drawer (add a few cookies) so he stays excited and engaged.
Omg Obi is such a sweet funny dog Chris .. the way he tackled the first 2 was savage but struggled on the level 3 and I think a lot of dogs would to be fair. My dog is a border collie but trust me shes stupid like that ha ha. I love the chemistry yo uhave together the human and dog friendship is just unbeatable to me. Hes gorgeous and I have been subbed to you for years now when you were in a small room doing puzzles. How far you have come is remarkable and I am so proud of you Chris and Obi you too buddy. Thank you for this different video Chris it was amazing to see ... love you and Obi ill be watching some more puzzle vids of yours right ... now
Way to go Obi! I've seen about every puzzle you've made, and this was by far the best as far as the entertainment value is concerned! And isn't that why we're all here? To be entertained? I think you need to have a monthly Obi day, complete with his own entry style. Help me Obi Bone Kanobi, you're our pupzzles only hope!
Hey there! We need the rest of the joker puzzle! Every new notification i get, i hope that you’ll upload the rest of the puzzle. Please, no more mind games …. Give us the rest of the puzzle 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
I have that same level one puzzle for my dog, Nugget. You can turn the bones around to make it a LITTLE bit more difficult. I have to take them away from him right away though because he runs off with them and chews them haha
Obi is 1,000 percent without a doubt the cutest and smartest little guy ever! I'm just wondering where obi's timer is 🤣🤣 I found myself doing the same thing with obi that I do with you when your solving...by yelling at my screen 🗣 "no obi turn it the other waaaaaaay!"
The junkfood product was clearly badly designed: how do they not realize dogs will go ham over anything that looks like a toy while solving a puzzle? Although admittedly it could also be considered as a one-time-use design... but the puzzle level on that one is very low :( And for the last one I think the problem is that he doesn't see the relationship between the bones and the trays. The knobs are too far away from where the scent is.
Great job! Your pup could get the next championship belt from Wes!? Hehehe. Your pup did so well. He deserves all those treats. That last one looked really complicated compared to the first ones. Awesome video! Hope to see more starring Obi ☺️
my dog Maggie LOVES her rolling puzzle toy! she has mastered it by now. Your video has inspired me to get another puzzle for her very soon. Maggie thanks you.
I knew there is something about you! A doxie! 🥳 Having the same ignorant at home. Give me paw or kiss? My Oddie is leaving 🤣 Doxies are really clever! I am always surprised by my doggo what he can think out and reach the goal even it was necessary to be some kind of Monkey. Always he gets annoyed 🤣
He is so cute and smart. But then that breed is known for being smart. It was great fun watching him solve the puzzles. Look out he might take over your channel and start solving your puzzles, LOL.
The hot dog really got him going he looked to happy 😂
Personally, I would watch Obi play with the hotdog for hours!
Obi's not a good boi.... he's da BEST BOI
Who obito
Puzzle toys, and snuffle mats are great for mental stimulation, which is great for dogs who aren’t tired even after hours of play and walks! Or for those days where you can hardly get out of bed and pup still needs some exercise
Lol he so cute 🥰 my husband has three dutchunds and I think they would probably just fight over the treats in the puzzles and possibly destroy it to get to the treats lol. Love the keep off rug 😆
Obie and the Hotdog reminds me of Chris solving most puzzles.
I taught my dog to either use ‚mouth‘, ‚nose‘ and ‚paw‘ first before i introduced him to puzzles. This way i can give him clues when he looks at me. Obi did so well without any training! Real good boiiiii
Cute dog! Dachshunds are very smart. My cousin has 5 that he has trained for tracking. He travels around the USA tracking.
Thought this was chef Ramsay lol
What a very good boy!! Now I want my JRT to try!!!
He is the goodest of boys and very clever. He certainly loved that hot dawg.
For the love of God…..
…..GIVE THE PUP A HOTDOG!!!!
😂🤣😂🤣
YES! MORE DOGGE PUZZLING!!!!
The dog trying to get the hotdog made me laugh
Obi is very good boi.
Love your dog 🥰
You should have put a treat under only a few of the bones on the level one puzzle, so he would have to smell which ones they were under to make it harder.
"his chubby little paws" like father like son
Love master Obi!😍
Introducing Chris' Purse Puppy.
More Obi please 🥰
Ive got a puzzle that ice had trouble with for months, I can send a picture of it, maybe you can find one similar
It would definitely be cool to see him do them in a couple months after seeing it before
Tooo cute❤️
Even His Dog Solves Better Than Me
3 is way harder than 2. 2 is almost as easy as one.
and this is why pets bite their owners!!
So i thought i was the only one to have a full convo with a dog.🥲
Interesting how he actually solves the puzzles. My labradors would probably just pick the puzzle up and shake it till all treats come out 😂
My lab is half pitbull so she will just bite my face lol
My pit would have just ate the puzzle
My lab does do that! Exactly that! 😂 he’s also terrified of dachshunds 🤦🏻♀️
My dog is the same, he has no finesse, just smashes at the puzzle with his paw until everything flips over 🤣
My husky would just bite it til it breaks and ignore the treats and just destroy the puzzle
If we get another one of Obi’s puzzle solving vids will there be an timer for puzzle completing time? Give him the setup too. ( 100% good boy )
Obie is such a humble genius. Not too pompous and yet so talented. We need a part two 😂
I’m a licensed vet tech and this is in no way cruel. It’s actually amazing! He’s engaged and learning, while getting treats at the same time! For a dog that will eat quickly, as you mentioned, this is a great way to slow them down so they don’t throw it all back up. Great entertainment for him!
People are really saying this was cruel?
YEP. They're named Karen.
@@SLOTHSRIDEUNICORNS lol 😆 😂
The animal rights activists will label this as cruel either way
@@John-Doe-Yo probably the same people that have dogs so overweight that they can't jump on their bed

"Stop pulling on the hot dog's umbilical cord"
Now that was an interesting sentence 🤣🤣🤣
There’s a company that makes an interactive game for dogs, that gets progressively tougher as the dog figures it out. You might get them to send you one for review!
I’m envisioning you coming into the room and finding that Obie has disassembled ALL your puzzles looking for more kibble.
😂😂😂 I can see this happening.
I got one for my cat. Watching the gears in his head spin to figure it out was fascinating.
what's the company name?
Chris: STOP chewing the hotdogs umbilical cord!!!
Obie: mmmm very yummy foetus
'Just give me the damn hot dog dad!'
Obie is adorable! Loved this video Chris!
Everyone have a great day, stay safe & healthy out there!
😂 That’s awesome. He will soon be solving level 10’s before you.
Just like his dad. Gets frustrated when he can't figure out the puzzle. Lol!!
14:38 - that motivational speech almost made me do the things I've been procrastinating on doing the whole day
I always help my dogs with the 3rd puzzle and one of my dogs finds level 4 easier. All their brains are different just like ours xx
This was cool. I didn’t know they had these. I could have used it when my dog was young. Thanks for the video 🌞🌞🌞

OMG how sweet is this. Smiled all the way Through this, Thank U.😄
If this video doesn’t go viral.. it’s clear youtube is broken.
Thank you

Fake, the dog was a pay actor 😂 jk
This video was cute
Yes, more obi puzzle videos please! He's the star of the show now 😉
I think half the fun for Odie is to try and tackle these puzzles together with you. You holding them down means there is some of the good old tug-of-war interaction going, and in my experience dogs of all breeds really enjoy that.
Such a fun twist. I’ve always wondered about puzzles for my dogs. I think only the ones that involve luck or brute force would work for mine though
why dont you solve a puzzle like a dog would, with your teeth
PewDiePie should see this he tried sth similar with edgar not long ago
The hotdog detour was truly the best moment of this video lmao
Why would a puzzle be cruel? Makes no sense
Awesome idea for a puzzle video! Cool seeing his temperament change when he decided to give the hotdog a hiding and when he got fed up on the last puzzle.
I'm so happy you've combined puzzles and dogs 💚💚💚
I feel like a crow would do really well on all of the puzzles
If you have a puzzle like the first two you don't have to put treats under each one, just do a few them they have to search harder without eating too much
Never seen a dog do puzzles before! That was really something, & super cute too.
People actually think having a pet dog is cruelty?
Grow up Karens.
Right! Even to them petting a dog is cruelty
That was a really funny and entertaining video, thanks Obi xxx
Cannibalism- hotdog eating hotdog
Obie trice...real name no gimmicks
Interesting - wonder how many other dogs would be able to solve these - especially chihuahas, terriers, beagles, and shelties.
He's got great slight of hand
I love ur dog it looks cute
That last one is how everyone watching you from home is feeling. BRO JUST DO THE THING!!!!!
Let’s go 62ed comment
Listen, Chris, I watch all of your puzzle videos, all of 'em. I was hoping I'd come home after a long day to have a drink and watch a puzzle solve. Chris, look up SNUFFLE MAT. It's a way to slow down a dogs eating and supposed to give them "mental enrichment" also.

Thank you for this different video Chris it was amazing to see ... love you and Obi ill be watching some more puzzle vids of yours right ... now
Love your dog. It also stimulates the skills of the dog. Also enjoy when solving your puzzle games. Kind regards from Birthe in Denmark
Only Chris's dog would be a master puzzle solving dog 🐶🤣🤣🤣
Hey there! We need the rest of the joker puzzle! Every new notification i get, i hope that you’ll upload the rest of the puzzle. Please, no more mind games …. Give us the rest of the puzzle 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤
Obi is such a champ. If I knew of these puzzles 10 years ago. my Rosie would love these activities. I enjoyed watching obi.
I have that same level one puzzle for my dog, Nugget. You can turn the bones around to make it a LITTLE bit more difficult. I have to take them away from him right away though because he runs off with them and chews them haha

People think it’s cruel to give their dogs treat puzzles..? Thats bizarre. It’s as much of enrichment as playing fetch

My dumb self was like what the heck does EEPOFF mean. *Camera zooms out* "KEEP OFF" me - OHHHH I am an idiot.
