As you said about Christmas, people don’t care how much you spend on them. I bet a lot of your loved ones wouldn’t care if you even got them anything. It’s all about being together. If you have to have a less expensive Christmas this year, it’s nothing to be ashamed or feel guilty or sad about. You seem like a very thoughtful person and can come up with some great gift ideas without having to spend a ton. Sending you a hug. Money anxieties suck!
I think a nice personalized loaf of bread from your new kit would be so sweet & cost effective! You can then distribute the saved money on super close loved ones and make the most of it while feeling good. Just a thought.
Thanks again for being so candid. Maybe have an envelope to contribute to monthly for your skiing pass and lessons as a sinking fund. Instead of presents maybe ask family and friends to contribute whatever they can to your lessons and pass - experience over presents? You got this ❤
Zoe, you should set up sinking fund categories for your ski pass as well as your aura ring subscription. A little bit each much is easier to handle than end of the year surprise costs. Love the video! 🙌🏼🙏🏼
I'm feeling absolutely awful about finances this month, after buying a home in the summer and just spending so much to fix it up for our move in, and the unexpected expenses that popped up... I've been ignoring my typical monthly reset because it scares me that so much money has exited my account (even if it was mostly planned!!). We still have an emergency fund but I've always been a saver so it scares me. Just thankful my family does a $100 secret Santa gift exchange so that will save my Christmas.
Im having mixed emotions about November , the past week has been rough with everything going on …at the same time feeling more motivated and productive this month money wise …
Hi Zoe, I'm a new sub here. I was exactly like you for many years and tried many budgeting tools. I just switched from Cash Evenlopes to the YNAB budgeting app, and for the first time in my adult years, I can breathe. Personal finance is what exactly is PERSONAL, so YNAB may not work for your lifestyle. I wanted to share my experience with you! Good luck with your journey. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.
keep going girlie! I love this series and you're so authentic which is a breath of fresh air. I may be new here but can you talk about how you began to separate your business from personal finances?
I feel you! Our brain tricks us into the same old patterns so although I'm not very lucky to be financially stable I still get anxiety around money.. working on my scarcity mindset
Zoe, could you please share your experience with the powder nail kit? I wanted to get one but I have mixed feelings about it 😢 I’d appreciate your opinion😅
Definitely financial anxiety because Christmas is right in the corner and I only saved few dollars for it. I think my goal next year for Christmas is starting January I’ll set aside a fund for Christmas.
It's your vehicle registration. Same as Ontario, every other province and territory in Canada as well as in most US states. Granted, it's probably more expensive in Québec than elsewhere, but part of the proceeds are used to finance public transit.
You look so beautiful in your video, even though you're frustrated. Maybe you may want to get a part tme job to help boost your income until your other work picks up a bit? Or pick up some more freelance clients? Hope things get better soon..
You make me so conscious about my expenses and I love it because I used to say “I deserve this” but inside I knew I should invest my money and pay my debts 😂
you deserve it all 💕💕💕 however sometimes we say “i deserve this” only to feel guilty… and we dont deserve to feel guilty! so we learn to spend and save and invest in ways that feel good xo
Do you have a yearly overview for your foreseeable expenses? 😊 If not, just take a calendar with a year at a glance and jot down all variable expenses you can foresee, e.g., birthday/Chistmas/anniversary gifts, vacation, ski pass, expensive new purchases, random insurance payment. This way you can see in one overview which months are very pricey and when you will need additional amounts of money. For the emergency fund it really depends on what you own and what you would have to pay for. What happens if JS loses his job? If you lose one of your jobs? If Maggie needs a complex surgery? If your car breaks down? These would be the first things that come to mind for me for your situation.
If the ski pass and lessons are non-negotiables, enter them into your budget tracker sinking fund in 2025. You’d have a ball park figure of the total costs and it’d be a lot easier for you to split it across 10ish months! You can always request some cash for your Christmas gifts from your family and friends so you can always include it in your ski fund for the next year! ❤️ I noticed that your income has taken a dip consistently this year, especially after you reduced your copywriting hours. Have you considered increasing your copywriting hours to tide you through your lower earning months from UA-cam, especially in months where your content engagement are low and sponsorships are sporadic?
Have you ever considered an annual budget? I do that and its very helpful those once a year expenses or when you're planning for trips that are months down the line
I agree. An envelope for the ski pass from family members. I think as we get older Im in my 40s I only limit 125 for my family. Last year I spent zero. Family members rather see the memory of seeing you for the holiday verse gifts.
Regarding the business finances: I struggled as well with having enough money in there. After incorporating the Profit-first-System it changed so much! I have enough money (plus extra) for taxes, making a profit with every payment I get and have allotted enough money for expenses and paying myself. It’s like envelope budgeting but with percentages and really easy to set up. The original book is written for the US, but my business is located in Germany and I still could incorporate it. There are a lot of UA-cam Videos on there and the book is a quick read - def look into that to your life easier! 😊
i started my cash envelope this month but it’s so confusing at first! lol keeping up with receipts and tracking sheet on the computer i don’t know what was paid cash and what was card and then i forget if i’ve transfer money from the cash envelope to the “spent on credit” one i’m like how do you do all that 😅
i know not everywhere does it, but i recommend signing up for the free rewards/membership system that some stores have. ex. target! most stores that do that will either email/text you a receipt or allow you to log in and view your digital receipt. it can be very helpful if you forgot to grab a receipt and what to know where your money went!
This may or may not be the case but I don’t think the increase is because of the accident that was not your fault. Car thefts in Canada, in particular Ontario & Montreal last year was at it’s all time high. I got the award from my insurance company to congratulate me on having the highest stolen vehicle for 2023-2024 and my reward was my new price of 3200 per year, which is up from 1800 last year. My family’s insurance has all gone up from 30-45 per month and their cars didn’t even make the list. Maybe the accident for you was the cherry on top lol
My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to make investments. Saving is great but investing puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to larysa Caba, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year.
I feel one Of the greatest challenges that we first timers face in the ma rket is that we end up losing all we have, making it difficult to find ourselves back to our feet. My biggest advice is to always seek the services of a professional just like I did when I ventured into it for the first time. Big thanks to Larysa Caba. I now make huge profits by weekly through her services while still learning to stand on my own.
I think she trades for everyone I meet. I met her twice at a meeting in Germany and after her lectures from Ella I had to personally ask her to be my financial advisor. she is definitely good.
I have never seen a trader as open and transparent as Larysa Caba with her clients. The way she decides to make a profit for her clients. she allows you to express your fears and she still rests your fears and that is my respect. I don't normally comment on videos, but this word should be included. she is really cool.
I’d there any job, that will allow you to get a free ski pass. Maybe do a class - my job does a ski gymnastics class once a week all year. Maybe do that and diversify your types of courses.
So I bet the license for your car is now based on your purchase price you paid … the more your car costs the more the license or registration … here in the US we pay annual registration based on what we paid for our car ( more since you bought a new car) Glenda
I feel you on the car front. I took mine in for winter tires and found out I needed brakes (rotors) and to replace 4 coils. The three days without a car made me appreciate the privilege . . . But no part of me wanted to end the year with a $2700 car repair. It really makes you appreciate savings/investments.
I love watching your videos, you are a beautiful person inside and out . I know you are a very independent woman but I believe your boyfriend should treat you more. It would be nice if he can just pay for your fun couple’s activities. He is your Boyfriend, not just your roommate.
thank you for this sweet comment 💕💕 he treats me lots, I just dont talk about it much! he pays for most of our dates and is a wonderful partner in many ways
Re the emergency fund - if it were me I would look at the total of your necessary expenses (looks like roughly 2k if you count fixed expenses, groceries, gas to get to work, and Maggie) and use that to determine an appropriate number, turns out 6k actually would satisfy the recommendation for 3 months expenses! and if you were in the situation where you truly were pulling on the emergency fund to survive on you could likely find creative ways to bring down the grocery budget, and if it really came down to a worst case scenario and you couldn’t come up with the rent money it’s not like JS would kick you to the curb. 10k does sound like a nice satisfying number, but 6k is great as well, and the difference isn’t worth punishing yourself over. just my two cents 🫶🏻
I wanted to know how you managed the tip at coffee shops? In Montreal, every place you enter ask you for tip even if you just get a muffin. And they start with 18%! Anyway great video as always 🩵🩵
ughhh dont get me started! not to he horribly cheap but i tip 10-15% for coffee depending on the service. if they bring to to me maybe higher but for an in and out 18% is wild to me.
how are you feeling for November?? 🌲 (PS. did you make it to the end and rub the piggy's nose for good luck?)
Feeling excited I became an uncle
Yes 🙂

thank you Melissa!! could actually be a great vlog idea to share some creative gift ideas 😍 thank you for this idea!!
I think a nice personalized loaf of bread from your new kit would be so sweet & cost effective! You can then distribute the saved money on super close loved ones and make the most of it while feeling good. Just a thought.
I love your authenticity. You have great energy! Thankful for your money videos

Zoe, that is the cutest sweater!!! 😍😍😍🫶🏽
thank youuuu 💛💛💛 slightly festive hehe
One of the reasons I love your videos is that you are so financially intelligent. I love your budgeting / money videos!
I'm feeling absolutely awful about finances this month, after buying a home in the summer and just spending so much to fix it up for our move in, and the unexpected expenses that popped up... Your videos are always amazing!!!! Love finding fellow Canadian creators! ❤
These videos always make me want to get my finances in order even when I have been avoiding it for a couple of days
yayyy you got this 💛💛
Im having mixed emotions about November , the past week has been rough with everything going on …at the same time feeling more motivated and productive this month money wise …
❤️❤️ sometimes thats the best way to power through a tough time 😭

yayyy youre gonna love it 💕💕💕
keep going girlie! I love this series and you're so authentic which is a breath of fresh air. I may be new here but can you talk about how you began to separate your business from personal finances?
OMG the template you created for tracking is so beautiful
it's from The Line!! can't take credit hehe 🩷
I feel you! Our brain tricks us into the same old patterns so although I'm not very lucky to be financially stable I still get anxiety around money.. working on my scarcity mindset
we got this 💖💖💖
Zoe, could you please share your experience with the powder nail kit? I wanted to get one but I have mixed feelings about it 😢 I’d appreciate your opinion😅
will share once I try it 💕💕 we’ll do a spa day in a vlog hehe
Definitely financial anxiety because Christmas is right in the corner and I only saved few dollars for it. I think my goal next year for Christmas is starting January I’ll set aside a fund for Christmas.
yesss i gotta do that too 😭😭🙈🙈
That's a good idea, I need to start saving for Xmas in January too 🥺
your hair looks sooo good!!
It's your vehicle registration. Same as Ontario, every other province and territory in Canada as well as in most US states. Granted, it's probably more expensive in Québec than elsewhere, but part of the proceeds are used to finance public transit.

I can’t imagine having a day where I don’t think about money. Anxiety, judgement every time I spend money-I get that, to the nth degree.
I thought I was the only one who thought this way, glad to see I'm not alone and not the only one working on it! 🙌🏽
we got this!! 💛💛 its hard and it fluctuates but i believe we can keep working on it and improve
hi Zoe loving the new video!!
Yes to your video request 😊 sounds pretty interesting!
yay!!

Where are those blue light glasses from? 🧡
a Montreal company called Lunetiq 🩷
Sinking fund ! Maggie ! Use it or is it all used up ? Glenda

I just looked up her name online. she is licensed with credible certificates and has an amazing track record. Thank you for the message.
I have ALL the same money feelings that you do
Quebec car registration fee… totally went up exponentially this year. Think it was the tax that increased. A yearly expense too!
Uuughhhhh
UGH thank you for sharing in my despair hahaha
I’d there any job, that will allow you to get a free ski pass. Maybe do a class - my job does a ski gymnastics class once a week all year. Maybe do that and diversify your types of courses.
