  • An in depth comparison of two of the leading Jet Tunneled inflatable boats. The Solar Inflatable and the Strizh Inflatable. Both are excellent boats but there are many differences between the two. In this video we compare the Solar 420 and the Strizh 420.

The back spray from the jet intake is significant on the Strizh, damn good thing it has a self bailing transom! Great review.

Great video! Be nice to see if you get a hold of the new Stryker jet boat and do a comparison including it.

Great review of the top two inflatable jet tunnel boats ! I own a Strizh 480, if I am looking at carrying a heavy load ( moose hunt) I remove the floor to gain another 50/55 lb capacity - not as nice as the wooden floor but works well. Also love the anchor rode holder on Strizh, no snaps or D rings. Both great boats like you say Rob 👍👍

The Strizh is self-bailing around the transom gaps. This means it is also self-filling when you stop quickly and the trailing wave piles up against the transom. Is this self-filling "feature" much of a problem?

The floor sits above the waterline ans I have never seen water back fill in to any extent. It’s a nice feature

Great review. Is the Strizh wider or does the top tubes just make it look that way? Also any experience with the 500? Thanks

Same width without the top tubes as other inflatables but it does look much wider with the top tubes

great video! Thanks. I love to pick your brain on this. I moose hunt in remote Alaska. Just sold the boat I was using (commercial fishing skiff with prop) and need to get a boat that will get into the shallower spots on the rivers. I don't really understand jet boats yet! Here is my main question--for a roughly 15 ft inflatable river boat, what is the minimum prop HP outboard I will need to get myself, a partner and a moose out? I figure 1500 lbs ish if meat is boned out and we travel relatively light. Trying not to buy more outboard than I need. Thanks!

It would depend on the boat but for a 480 inflatable ~ 15ft a 60/40 jet would probably lift around 1500 lbs

    Hi Bob!

Lots of good jet tunneled boats out there. Solar, Strizh, Stryker, Projet

I forgot to mention that the transom is a one piece Aluminum transom where the Russian models are wood and will rot over time. Support the Canadian company.

The aluminum transom sounds great but I think it’s an unfair assumption that the others will rot. I have had my Solar for 6-7 years with no sign of any rot or any leaks or cuts and it is very well used. Thanks for the comments

Your Canadian. Wheres the love for a Canadian company. Stryker boats are way better than either of those Russian boats and 2K cheaper and has something like 5 sizes to choose from and a ton of options from center consoles to side consoles to stick steer boats. They sell trailers as well specifically made for them. You said that you wish they had more D-rings, Strykers have a ton and all standard. Take a look at Stryker and you will see that the quality and craftsmanship are 10x what the Russians do and you can get warranty work by someone you can talk to . They have 6 Scotty mounts standard I think so you can put a fish finder or pot puller or rod holder on your boat. What ever Scotty makes can go on them.Give Dennis a call for your next boat and support your fellow countryman not communists. I am not affiliated with Stryker in any way, I just did a ton of research before I bought my boat and Stryker is hands down the best company and best built boat. I even see the 9th video down on this page is for there 2024 model. Check them out before you buy a boat or you will spend to much .

I have heard Stryker is a good boat but they just came out with a tunnel which in my opinion is the most important feature and what I was comparing in the video. I have yet to see any of them where I live but I would love to have a look and take one for a rip.
