He has so much love for his wife that it bleeds into his character. It's like he almost can't NOT love Jester because she's Laura.

Well I see them as exaggerated caricatures of Laura and Travis so they might just fall in love with that part of each other in character
Man, I loved Travis as Grog, but he is sooo good as Fjord. You could see him when he was Grog, that he wanted to contribute more when it came to planning, but Grog was “dumb” it’s great to see his great acting chops
you could see his acting chops when he was grog perhaps even more since it takes a genius to play an idiot
I agree with the sentiment, but don't understate how difficult it was to play Grog.
Also getting to play a scaredy-cat type character compared to Grog is a nice change of pace.
Plus we see how Fjord grows big time throughout the Mighty Nein's adventures and rises up as the party's leader after Molly's fate, and how he also shows himself determined to protect everyone, especially when he keeps his promise to Marion that he'll keep Jester safe on the Nein's adventures.
I think they’re ship name should be “the emerald and the sapphire “

Andrew Martin she said in an episode of Talks Machina that Travis, once romance became a subplot in campaign one, vowed that he would never ever be involved in a PC romance himself. Laura immediately vowed to romance his character in campaign 2.

As a DM, I've made villains I'm very proud of, that genuinely scared my players. I've made a player wet themselves laughing. But Matt's power to just build a scene, build a mood, create a space where pretend people have these moments is some next level shit. Great players yes, but the jellyfish started the whole thing.

If you watch Between the Sheets with Laura and Travis, it really gives context this moment. Laura herself said she's a hopeless romantic at heart. It's so very sweet!

i've said this before so many times, and i'll say it again; if Fjord and Jester don't end up together, i'm cancelling my Alpha subscription.
I know that if I was the writer for CR, I'd end up with them together in my script. Who knows what the actual writers will do
I feel like a lot of people think that because of the real life relationship between the two which I love a lot more than any ship.
Given some of the things that have been said on Talks Machina and Between the Sheets you might not be renewing that subscription anytime soon. Laura tried for the pairing earlier in the season but Tavis put a stop to it. As for there being writers for the show... You do realize that they're making this shit up as they go right. Mercer might have a few starting points and plot threads going into each session but the rest of the cast is improving the ENTIRE time.

Nico Neilson I know people take different things from that moment, but I think Jester was talking about Fjord - and Travis said that too on Talks.
If you think about it, Jester often fawns over Fjord and we think it's a joke because it's so exaggerated but Jester is a sheltered girl, it might be all she knows. Even right now she's fiercely concerned with people who show interest in Fjord or him flirting with others.
She'd said this after the flirting had died down between them, because Fjord would always shoot it down - he was like a brick wall, wouldn't feed back anything and she gave up.
Sometimes things that are the most beautiful can hurt you the most - she's talking about love.
That's just my ideas though, I guess I could see the pain of missing her mother hurting, but this was set up to be a perfect romantic setting.

When I watched this live, I definitely cried. This moment touched me in a way that I wasn't expecting it to.

I realized during this whole moment that Fjord reminds me of my brother. Which was more touching, and almost calming in a way witnessing this whole moment. Also beautiful choice of music to add on.

Now that was awesome. An example of stuff that makes Crit Role so great - the stuff you can RP when you have friends who aren't afraid to be vulnerable, who actually wanna RP stuff... The way they use pauses without feeling weird, the flow of dialogue and the masterful way Matt paints a scene are just awesome. This is one of those random moments you could do without in a grand scheme of things, but it adds so much to a narrative. Anyways thanks for the video, I found it on the CR original video at 2:44:50. Well I'll be damned if that wasn't just the most beautiful thing I've ever seen
That beautiful moment between to people showing genuine love for one another, played by husband and wife so they don't need to pretend that love is there, it's just their love for each other shown through their characters. Listening to each other, building each other up and being there for one another. The quiet and somber scene just comes to a silent end only to be gently narrated off by Matt.
I'm just saying if that was in a moie it woulda won an Oscar.
My only hope is that this ship sets sail while they're their boat.

So i m new to the critical role and trying to catch up on How many years of campaings has been daunting but thanks to channels like yours its been making it a lot easier. (I m currently immersed in campaign 3, ) I especially like yours cause you do an amazing job of capturing these moments great editing and music choices that really help set the tone awesome job and tank you

Look there's many reasons to ship these two (not the least of which is Travis and Laura being adorable together) but my favorite thing and something it took me til the end of the Campaign to realize is this:
Jester lets herself be sad around Fjord.
There's times where she can't help it around other people but for the most part she's great at using her bubbly persona to make it seem like everything's alright. She only ever really let's it down voluntarily around Fjord. She feels safe with him, able to be herself.
Caleb noticed it before anyone else did, but Caleb also has more than enough sadness of his own to go around, so Jester always feels like she has to be the one to comfort him and cheer him up. It's different with Fjord, though her reasons may have evolved. Those two are amazing for each other.
This comment blew my mind. I've always been a Widojest shipper for ages but this... this blows a hole through my theory, and I'm okay with that.
