Beautiful Journal! I am a cancer survivor. I still see my doctor every couple of months. The lobby of the medical center has a basket of donated new hats and little pillows for cancer patients. I think this was be a lovely addition to the basket.
Love that journal! What a lovely idea to leave them out for people to find. That sort of thing can have a ripple effect on lots of people and spread kindness in the community. Well done! Thank you💕
I was asked to do a crafty project with my granddaughters girl scout troop. This may be something that they would have fun with. I will make one and see how it goes. Thank you Lisa, I always enjoy your videos.
Lisa, we used to make these in high school (way, way long time ago!), but nothing as sweet and cute as these! This is a great idea for those cold & rainy Saturday afternoons with the grandchildren. Thank you for your continued inspiration! Mari
I love ❤️ this little journal 📔 I am in the mist of doing one myself I will post what I have so far I am going to share on UA-cam but those are so cute I like them, and I have all the supplies 🤪 TFS have a Wonderful evening.
I would like to add another helpful idea. add a spine, cover the inside with fabric, sew down each side of the spine. add whatever embellishments you would like. Next take a zipper long enough to sew top, side and bottom of book. add strips of fabric to each side of zipper. Separate the zipper, sew one side at a time to the top, side and bottom. (Note a double zipper pull could be used also) after sewing on the zipper, zip it and add zipper tabs on ends. this could be a cover in itself or if you want to add pages, you can add a piece of burlap to the spine then add craft glue. take your stack of papers you want to use and clamp them tight. place centered on spine and let dry over night.
Lisa I love this idea !! And I am so happy that your back to making journals lol they came out gorgeous ❤️ did you happen to see the travel journal I made ? I posted on the Facebook group ( creative crew )
Hey Ms. Rosie, I believe I did see your journal! I absolutely love that you have acquired a passion for making journals, that makes me happy! And you are so good at it too :)
Very cute, and what a sweet idea to leave happy surprises around your community. I've done that with books! Have you seen Kate's easy book binding? (The Last Homely House East of the Sea) Thank you!
I'm sure it would Linda :) I was trying to stay on a budget for these books and use mainly items from the Dollar Tree, however you could substitute the foam for the flexi firm instead :)

I used the foamy stuff to adhere the fabric to for the cover :)

I'm going to have to look that up!!! :)
These are so cute do you think flexi firm would work just as well as the craft foam
I'm sure it would Linda :) I was trying to stay on a budget for these books and use mainly items from the Dollar Tree, however you could substitute the foam for the flexi firm instead :)
What size needle on your machine are you using?
I am using a size 12/80 Ball Point needle
I thought you were going to use the elastic to hook on the button.
You could certainly do that as well :) So many possibilities!
