- Secret game mechanics hidden in game Death Stranding are revealed in this video. Hideo Kojima games usually contain hidden mechanics that require experimentation to find out. They are triggered in certain situations and video shows these hidden game mechanics:
You can talk to other players through their built structures using Sam's shouts.
Grab a MUILE's cargo and put it on Sam's back before they fall after you fight them.
Know how to vertical climb ropes without walls for feet support.
Find out the correct way to throw a climbing anchor after you have climbed to the top so other players can use them.
Playing harmonica is an easy way to get likes from BB.
Learn how to use a strand to take down an enemy (MULE), which is similar to CQC moves.

Grow mushrooms so that water bears (cryptobiotes) are freely generated for eating.

Sam will tell you when he needs to take a shower.
Find out how to spray on yourself and your carried cargo by turning the repair spray on Sam.

Throw hematic grenade at the ground to get goo people to release their grabs on Sam,
Skip any animation or cutscenes n by pressing Options and then selecting Skip in the menu.

Trigger the appearance of Black BB by searching for your soul in the Seam (repatriate mode) and entering the mouth.

Sorry, but alot of these things are normal features players encounter during the game or information indicated on the loading screen. CQC with the strand, for example, is explained the majority of the time when you equip the stand.
You know hidden means that it’s something not explained and you quite literally showed everything that the tutorials tells you. This is just flat out stupid.
There's literally tutorials explaining how to do most of these things. I wouldn't call that "hidden".
I feel like I've spent the past year of my life trying to convince people to play this game, and nobody seems interested apart from one friend who thinks it's just as good as I do. It's so frustrating, such a brilliant mold-breaking game with loads of unique features.
They're the many hiding away behind city walls, too afraid to venture outside, relying on better men to bring them food and underwear lol.
same here, but only the last month. i've beaten it in 80 hours in 8 days. played every night for 10 hours straight. didnt want it to end. i have two old friends who love gaming and sci fi, and they tried death stranding like for a few hours and both.. didnt like it at all.( it's boring for them, they hate the mechanics... i try to convince them to try to put more time into it, but it's not working...so fuck them)
i think it's one of the best games i have ever played. just beautiful in every sense from the first frame to the last one with kid, sun and rainbow after the rain.
i even bought kojimas book (The Creative Gene) and started to read his fav books (now Dennis Lehane's Kenzie & Gennaro series) (and listen audiobooks) and decided to restart and finish mgs5 (i once played it on pc but lost all saves in the middle). so iam now living in kojimas world all around.)
It’s a totally new gaming genre, nothing else like it on the video game market. I’m glad I 100%ed DS.

@@EddieFreak she got it from cliff lol. He would whistle it to sam as a baby, therefore she got it from him because she ended up raising sam as her own child and found out that was one of the ways to keep him calm.

Its so easy to not get eaten by a BT that its actually only happens if you let it.

On the mission where you need to head back all the way back from the start, some lion bts pulled up and i was just about to get away and a fucking lion was just wataing for me and ate my ass, nevertheless i cause a void out, lost all my anti bt equipment, blood bags and the game maked sure to auto save just after the void out, AND THEN a fucking world ending whale wanted my ass too lmfao

@@DONQUAKER I missed the lions. Are they in the BT area in the northern most area between George Baton and Nick Easton? I dodged that area by cutting over the mountains.
Well you should play very hard mode then, I'm farming chiral crystals and sometime it's challenging
Another tip to go along with #3 is after throwing the Blood Grenade, hold R1 to hold your breath so you don't breath it in and cause Sam to cough.

About the BB likes, you actually don't need the harmonica to do that! When you rest, hitting the touchpad will make Sam whistle. It does the same thing.

I don't know if this was a base game or if it's a directors cut exclusive, but running, jumping, and keeping your balance among other things will get you likes from BB also
You can make the grabbers go away by peeing on them.
I learned that when they dropped my packages in tar pit while i didn't have weapons on me. I managed to get out of the pit and turned around and took a piss on them out of frustration and i was surprised that they disappeared i was able to get my stuff back.
🤣 I love how you stumbled upon a secret weapon out of anger. Then again I guess it makes sense. Sam’s body fluids are weaponized. Next time there’s a BT in my way I’m gonna try to piss on it.

All this time I thought everybody responding to Sam calling out to them was other players in their own respective games who happen to be nearby. But it was just their structures lol.
I put at least 100+ hours into this when it came out on PlayStation and just now found this out…….

You can also jump across gaps and catch ropes mid-air, I only did once while I was running from enemies. I was near the distribution center in the second area. I was getting chased by MULES and had a speed kit, I did a super jump across a huge gap and almost didnt make it, until sam grabbed the rope like something out of an action movie mid air, it was actually pretty dope in the heat of the moment!
Also Conan o'Brien is in the game but he Is an optional prepper, thought it was random to have him in the game lol

This player is savage for keeping his BB in the red + for having boots with 99% damage the whole time.
nah hes just a monster, mate he can't even take a second to calm his BB down when absolutely no danger is around, i think soothing BB is a secret mechanic for this guy.

Something I noticed about memory chips is that there's one at basically every MULE camp. If you knock em all out and go into the main tent it's usually on a desk and is marked with an icon if you use the scanner
If you die, you can find another player body in seam. If you approach that body. You can make connection with that player. So their building will appear in your game.
That's awesome
But not hidden. The game tells you this. Every thing in this video is a mechanic explained by tooltips.

the #11 one is not hidden, the game actually tells that's the best stealthy way to knock mules out, and it also tells you can deflect front attacks as shown in the video ._.

You don't get more likes for the container spray upon delivery. All the spray does is repair the container. It doesn't repair damage to the actual item. It does help prevent damage from occurring to the item IN the container though. But just spraying all your containers won't change the likes you get when you make deliveries.

After you beat the game, you get access to BB's Theme. Such a beautiful song. I would love to tag it to my buildings. My zip-lines would always have Fragile waving though.

Hold R1 to hold ur breath after u throw the Grenada so Sam doesn’t start coughing
You can pee on them, works as well
When at the edge of a pool of Bt's you can throw yourself forward instead of shaking them off. Maintain your balance and hold the left trigger forward. It's best to do when low on stamina. Sam will lay on the ground for a sec to catch his breath, but you'll be out of the way of the BT's. Also shooting them will cause them to disappear faster than the grenade. Shooting is done best outside of the pool. If you try it inside of the pool, the ones trying to grab Sam with start to swim around to circle him.

When you trip and succefully rebalance bb with laugh at you and give you likes, if you equip the speed skeleton and land a successful jump you will also get likes from bb.
Sam, remember the basics of CQC
If you're losing balance and you have a lot of cargo, and you're already pressing r2+l2 press circle to come to a stop and regain your balance, this also works if you have your strand equipped, just press l2 to aim the strand and Sam will straighten and regain balance, cutting the falling mechanic immediately.

#12 - If you missed the harmonica & don't feel like rushing back to get it just yet, don't worry, you can still get the same exact effects by pressing the same buttons, but Sam will whistle instead of playing the harmonica. ;-)
#3: Dont use blood. Pee on them. Same effect, lasts indefinitely.

Garnalenpeller on the big boys it stuns them but deals no damage. First time I got grabbed I didn’t have hermetic grenades yet and ran out of EX grenades so I tried peeing on it lol. I also didn’t realize you could run away so I just let it kill me

Lexyvil weight is 1300KG, its pretty fking hard to overload a truck but it can happen
@@cesarandres700 Don't know about Bridges trucks, but Mule trucks don't have nearly as much. A fully loaded Sam's inventory and a bunch of material crates in the back and it's overloaded. Basically, I'm overloading the truck If I try to clear out a single full Mule cache.

An easy way to farm BTs: Go into sneak and stop to scan for BTs. Use bola gun to tie up BTs you're having trouble sneaking on. Cut cords. Profit. 👍👍👍
Bonus: The rarer glowing BTs give even more chiral ore. 👍👍👍

@@Snakekilla54 I don't think you can cut the cord of big BTs. I never saw the prompt on any of them. Only on regular sized ones. Plus it's only available when your not noticed. The big BTs are there because you got caught or story specific. Also, I beat the game. Just working on my last three trophies before platinum.

You can also kill BTs in their ghost form before they even grab you with the blood grenades. If you don't want to risk damage to any of your packages and you are taking a vehicle, it is a good way to get through the BT area if you have enough grenades. Just ride your vehicle in, wait for your BB to warn you of a BT, get off/out, track it down and chuck a grenade at it. Get back on/in vehicle and repeat until you make it to the other side. Much easier and quicker to just battle the BT, but you risk damaging packages. Not good if you have fragile packages.
This is no secret, that's the way most people do it.

When I didn't had any weapons , I used to use Strand and parry/CQC the $#!% out of the normal MULEs , Then I found lethal MULEs and Non-Lethal Guns . Works for me I guess?

@@edepot well, death stranding has nice windy mountains and some nice rocky valleys, so you could do that. Rest with few packages and think about times before BTs and Mules attacking you during your travels

Big tip I wish I knew earlier is to ride the motorcycle at full speed and tap X button to pull up and “jump” over rocks and streams, you can totally clear rivers!
