I had a 1981 KZ1100, first year shift drive. That was my baby. 4 into one pipe, carb work. Had my big accident with that bike same day Princess Diana died. Such a dependable bike. Be safe everyone.
Sam, here's wishing you a quick recovery. I am a big Yamaha fan but I also like Kawo's. Loved the 900's but I almost bought a 500 Triple. Back in the day (late 60's, early 70's) a guy by the name of Rusty Bradly raced a 500 Triple. Unfortunately he died racing it at I believe Indy. The 500's were wicked fast. Too fast! This was a great video.
I built my own chopper. I built mine to be comfortable and dependable and safe. On top of that I built it or less than $1500. in 2012. I had always ridden motorcycles and I am 2 years older than Sam. He knows more than I do about this subject but I have a different view of choppers. He is right about the value .. It did surprise me to hear him say a chopper is not a real motorcycle. I do respect him though.
My first bike was a 1975 Kawasaki 900, I LOVED IT!!! the brakes sucked the handling sucked and when you hit 115mph a terrible head shake but damn I loved that bike!!!
Sometimes you can't see the custom work on a dresser!! Especially if you do something with the swingarm and suspension!, And I have a perfectly good system on the ultra and I really don't use it! I like to listen to the machine and road conditions!
Lol, I was looking at the supercharged bike in the picture and it looked like the engine had been titled 90% forward for weight transfer. so rocker cover pointing dead ahead.. But when I took a closer look, I realised it was the supercharger lol ..
Like Marine Chevrolet, in Jacksonville, N.C. ,turned thier nose up at me twice, acted like I was a bother there, bought plenty of new cars and trucks, elsewhere, since then, and a couple extra houses. They don't need my money, they have plenty of business.
Jack, never mind the money, kids today have no interest in cars, or bikes, they refuse too pick up a wrench or do anything mechanical. Its sad really. I’m only 35 and I see it. It’s so unfortunate. They just play with phones, video games or a computer.
I rode Motocross for years my first street bike was a 76 KZ900... I was 17 and I'm lucky to be alive!
I remember when that bike came out, it was instantly king of the hill!
Yes! They are nice.I have one in my collection!!!
😝🏍🥩👏That was a 💯%Awesome kick-butt episode!!!🏁🚦...Great History, 👁eye-candy🛠 & update News!!!🏆...🙂👍💎
The whole Badder family are good people!! Northwest Ohio here! And have always been fond of Norwalk Raceway Park! Don't forget the ice cream!
My god I Love the Z1 900 myself!!!! Such a pleasure to wrench on. Just absolutely TIMELESS.

I love wrenching on Kawasakis many years ago. Simple yet durable product.
I haven’t seen Sam in 6 months good to see him moved in to the new shop. He is a great guy.

My First Bike was a KZ csr 750, Man!!!!!! Great Content.
I had a proto type 900 kaw in 72 and it was the badiestfkn 2 wheel stock bike there was.
Great stuff Jack. So interesting and I learned so much about this fascinating sport.
My '76 z900 changed my life too!
I really like the interviews with the greats....Love all the vids....Thanks for your time and energy keeping this going !!!!
I miss my '73, the twin to his. I believe it was about $1050 and rode it home in a drizzle in mid winter.
Still riding a 78 kz1000, that came out of a barn 15 years ago
If you need parts come to Webster they got it all .!!!!!! First sat and sun o the month.
Thanks for this. I barely knew Sam, yet I loved his take. (I also restored a 1973 z1 in the mid eighties to OEM stock. Now gone.) Legend topics!

Give dave Schmitz a call he mite know where 2 score them pipes
I bet if you asked a space shuttle pilot if they wanted to ride a a top fuel drag bike they would tell you "hell no! Too damn scary!"
in the 70's I saw dozens of stock Z! 4 into 4 pipes thrown into dumpsters, if only....
Who I live about 30 miles from there maybe I will be there sounds like a blast and not a Buell Blast

I think only cool chopper fad going on is the 60s/70s M/C style builds going on here in California and other places.
Night time driving is less than good for me too.
The Greek is retired and his grand daughter is now racing
