There is a lot of debate between the fan base on whether or not all 6 stories are totally connected. The majority consensus is that each couples story exists in their own universe so KB being a teacher in Mill and Nine's is not related to Yoojung and KBs universe.
@@Ken-zx4ui oh sweet! I know that pretty much everyone had agreed on that, but I hadn't seen it as confirmed by the members. I'm actually really happy that we ended up agreeing on the right thing!
The members said that the universes are not connected. - In the first one, only KB and Yoojung are around. - In the second one, KB and Junji are friends and Yoojung is a waiter at the restaurant they frequently go to. - In the third one, KB is a teacher at the school all of the others go to, Mill being "the shy one" and Nine being a new student. Also, the car in "be mine" and the scene on the bed in "because" were largely improvised, as seen in the behind the scenes videos. The video descriptions in all videos related to the solos are worth reading, they wrote some meaningful things there, mostly about why the solos are the way they are. The "I called yOu but it's actually me" interviews answer some things about the solos. Lastly, they've started putting out teasers for their comeback this week!
5:50 yes. KB is drunk in that scene. Which is why he doesn't remember how he got home. However, Yoojung left one of his paper planes in KB's place and when KB saw a similar plane on the counter in the coffee store, he realized it was Yoojung
This whole project was such a wild gamble for them, given how conservative Korea still is, but I'm glad it's paying off for them bc they deserve every ounce of praise. All the songs are so good, different but still have that OOO flavor and also managed for work so well in the pairs. And the videos are just so beautifully shot and tell such relatable stories no matter ur sexuality. They're undeniably queer, but also just about love which is universal. I think KB and Yoojung have my fav pair of songs and aesthetically I like their videos the best. Rie and Junji I think give the best acting performances, tho their songs aren't so much my vibe. But as a sucker for coming of age stories I think Mill and Nine had the best narrative in their videos.
I love everything about this series. I love that they took their time with each pairing and each individual video. I love that they told three stories (OOO confirmed each story exists alone so no student teacher creepiness) about three different types of relationship, different types of love, different stages of a relationship. They took so much care with the songs, the videography, the origami birds that carried through multiple videos. The acting was really good, which honestly can be hard to do for 6 people who are not actors. Everyone involved made these stories in such a respectful way, nothing was forced or weird, and it all felt really natural and realistic. The lighting was stunning throughout too. And I looooove the little messages in the description of each video. I tend not to look there and it wasn't till I was watching KBs that I realised and had to go back to check the first video. I also had a bit of whiplash when Beat started😅, and it wasn't an instant love for me, but I play it constantly now.
Listening to your perspective of the Yoojung and KB story...I never thought of it that way but it makes so much sense for KB to only be "in it" while not sober. You really opened my eyes. I did notice that KB seemed less comfortable in some of the scenes (like them dancing in the cafe), but I assumed it was just KB not knowing how to portray the emotions in the scene.
I thought they were maybe the same universe when we got to Mill's, that maybe KB and YooJung didn't know each other when they were at the school (and technically that would be age-appropriate after school ended based on their gap), but then they confirmed that the universes aren't linked. They did laugh as a group at YooJung's having multiple part-time jobs during the group watch-through of Junji's video. They're all so funny and beautiful! I love that they're showing and telling these stories, and it's so clear how comfortable they are regardless of whether those stories are true to their own sexualities. That they've embraced these views, created this level of comfortable intimacy in each video is just a great way to recognize and appreciate without appropriation or judgment. I do think it's interesting that all the stories are told in environments where they're not being judged for their sexuality, too. The bullying is "just" bullying versus "because you're gay/queer" as a justification, and there's an importance to that, because sexuality isn't 100% of anyone's story. So kudos to them for being amazing. And it looks like we're getting duo songs next maybe, or from the teaser images they're in their respective duos. What does it meannnnnn? :) Great to see you, Kaia!
Since you mentioned group comebacks at the end, they have a Japanese comeback soon and they're also currently dropping teasers for what seems to be a Korean comeback.
@@mel_ooo rlly? When? How did I miss that?😂 that’s my bad I’ve just never seen a group that announces a Japanese and Korean cb at the same time. Truly onlyoneof and I hope they don’t overwork themselves
I love this deep dive on OOO's Be Project. Beautiful and talented boys, I love all 6 MVs. Thanks for this reaction and support, they need more attention in the kpop industry.
I love these MVs so much because it has always felt to me like it wasn’t important that it was a gay love story, at least to the story of the videos themselves. Obviously that fact that the MVs were written this way and produced and released is important and on purpose and making way for the depiction of queer love in the industry. But the story told in the videos feels to me like it’s about relationships, and the fact that they’re gay relationships is just because the members were all the main actors and all the members are men. They are taking a major stance on the representation and dedication to the queer stories the exist in Kpop and media, while also maintaining a depth and validity in content that continues to be relevant to multiple audiences.
The way I see those stories is that they show 3 diffetent types of relationship. First one started as an attraction and progressed slowly into something deep. Second one was an instant paradise love and then down the line the reality cought up with them and difficulties arose. 3rd one is the teenage crush and how growing up and exploring yourself can be hard.
I think Begin and Because are my favorite, but ironically Beat is the one I listen to the most, and it's at the gym. All three storylines are so impactful, though.
I AM SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU REACT TO THESE. All the songs were so good. My favorites are because, be free, and begin. I got tickets to see them during their US tour, I can’t wait.
Yess I really wanted to hear what you had to say about these!! I regularly go back to your libido reaction to hear your opinion on it, so I'm very happy you did this! Really appreciate it!
I don't know how to explain but I saw a lot of comments on mvs explaining the story and the scenes shown. I know Rie's mv had a different order of what happened in their story(like fighting and then making up, not breaking up last). You must check that up later because I can't explain. Sorry, I hope it helps someone! 😘
omg omg omg i'm so excited for you watching this hahahah i recommend watching all the behinds and reactions from the members (even if you don't record it) 'cause they explain things here and there and also there's a bunch of scenes that weren't included in the mvs!! yoojung fanboying over the kiss scenes is also hilarious and a must watch tbh >< a conclusion i came up with someone on twitter was that the arch of it all could be a couple fighting themselves, a couple fighting each other, and a couple fighting the outer world; makes sense but it's only a theory tho.. i also saw someone say it could be that the younger the characters are they're the least afraid and apprehensive about how they feel and the way it affects their world
I'm so proud of OnlyOneOf, they are really making a statement regarding a whole community that hasn't really been delved into in Kpop (definitely some but it's exciting that OOO is focusing on it). I'm so excited for their comeback and I need to watch more content from them
I love how the first four videos tell stories about relationships that could very much happen to anyone, like there are queer aspects but the main focus is "relationships can look like this, whether queer or not" but the last two break away to tell a story that sadly also happens but disproportionately affects minorities. Like they show queer relationships being like any other relationship until they have to face the horrors of discrimination and violence from those around them.
I absolutly loved this series! I've been wanting to get into OOO more, but haven't gotten around to it - so this series became the perfect introduction! 👍 I am still not sure about "Beat" and "Beoynd", musically they're just to far from my mysical style. I was also very invested in the story of the slow progression of a relationship, with "Begin" and "Be Free" representing the secret crush and that first unsure step, and then "Be Mine" and "Because" being about the established relationship that encounters problems... And I really thought we were gonna get at contination, celebrating gay marriage with a proposal or something like that. So besides the music not being my style, the story also "dissapointed" me a little. But what I did like, is how parts of the story in "Beat" and "Beyond" actually showed that same shy secret crush like in "Begin" - so it kinda came full circle. But adding that huge issue of bullying and homophobia, which is one of the reasons why queer people, are hesitating in the beginning. And I appreciate that story being told! 💟
I know it has been confirmed by the members that the stories aren't connected, but I see them as connected. You know why? Because I love myself some drama and some toxic stuff. Makes the whole story a lot juicier. But I also gave the bell jar and my year of rest and relaxation a 5/5 on goodreads and don't think lipsynching is bad, so maybe I'm just a red flag overall lmao

it was said by members that its different universes, so its confirmed :p

they said that the stories aren't directly connected, it's three separate sets of characters ^^ they're connected in theme and symbolism tho
This group means so much to me❤❤❤
This whole project was such a wild gamble for them, given how conservative Korea still is, but I'm glad it's paying off for them bc they deserve every ounce of praise. the 3 pairings take place in different "universes" by the way ... so the KB at the start is not the same as in Mill+Nine's
