      Except we need to tread very carefully around people who say they are hearing from God, but diminish or even contradict the written Word of God. There’s a lot of red doctrine flags in this video, starting with “Jesus never claimed he was the messiah.”

      Yes Megan gets it. To be honest, I'm so tired of us talking about BLACKNESS looking like a white woman. I mean really, is our identity of ourselves so unforgiven that we can't see beauty unless we look like our oppressors? If it's not the hair, it's the skin bleach or the makeup. I mean seriously, for one, it would take far less time to look naturally beautiful as oppose to fake; secondly our younger generation will think and follow suit which preserves our true identity and lastly and most of all....daring to be different because we are. As black women, shouldn't we look like we love ourselves to the point of self awakening, self awareness, self acknowledgement of SELF? I'm just saying, this moment in time is so OURS, since the Floyd situation gave us another chance at redemption (sort of)....I could only imagine US ditching the "cover girl look" to embracing the "Natural Woman" look. Now, that will speak volumes!!!!! We're all the power we need to change our circumstances. Loving ourselves shouldn't be this hard. I challenge all who read my little comment to be as unapologetically BLACK with yourself as you can. Cut out all that weave and rock a chop, crop, twa, curly naturale or gele for GOD sake. If we dont take a stand in our own personal way, we'll keep looking for a leader.

      @elliebells2796 3 роки тому +2

      Constructive criticism is NEVER a bad thing, it's how we grow. Maybe the delivery is not what you want BUT how you receive it and how you choose to handle it should be between YOU and God. The church is not perfect, if it was then what would be the NEED of Christ. I don't know too much about her until she got married and I guess people may challenge her as it's not totally clear what she stands for plus she's a celebrity ALL of them get criticism.
      Proverbs 11:22
      Like a gold ring in a pig's snout is a beautiful woman without discretion.
      Keep praying for her, yourself and the church that we respond to each other in God's Love and God's wisdom. We are all learning. The Holy Spirit is the teacher and reveals ALL things John 14:26 hence it is biblical to test the spirit 1 John 4:1 'Based on Timothy 2:9-10
      What is proper for women who profess godliness? How does your thoughts , your choice of words and dress sense glorify God in aligning with HIS Perfect word. Start thinking that way and people will return some of their choice of clothing. If your heart is right with God he is faithful to complete the work he started in you.

    I love Meagan’s comment about competition and jealousy. John’s disciplines came to him and told him that the crowds were now flocking to Jesus. It would have been a time for John the Baptist to get offended because the Lord’s ministry according to John’s disciples was having a direct impact on John’s ministry. But John said essentially what Meaghan is saying here, “No man can receive anything unless it has been given to him by God the Father.” Nobody can take what God has for you. Our jealousy and competition is a poverty spirit... it a spirit that says I got to hold on tight, fight off the competition. That is not the faith that God will provide all your need according to His riches in glory.

    I am currently dealing with chronic insomnia, so I decided to come to youtube, and this video popped up in my recommendations. This message was so powerful, I actually paid attention and watched the whole video with my eyes wide open. I really enjoy everyone's perspective on these important topics that women can relate to. I pray that this video gets many views and to speak to each individual where it is necessary. I pray that God touches all of us and that he does reveal himself because he is *real* 🙏🏽There is no one like our god, he is the Omega and king of all kings! Everyone have a blessed day and remember you are never alone!

      Megan is WOKE.

      As a black African woman, I believe there is nothing wrong with weaves. It does not make one less natural or less black. I wear my 4c hair everyday and I am not a weave girl myself because I don't like them personally. But that does not mean anybody who loves weaves and wigs and makeup is fake or is trying to look like our oppressers. I get your point but I feel thats oppressing enough. We are talking about black women being strong, so allow the strong woman to make her own decisions about how she want to look without making her feel less of a black woman❤️

      @@NobuMpande Yes, to each it's own my sista but if it were only a few black women rocking " the covergirl" look, I probably wouldn't be making my point but there's an ENORMOUS amount of us following the trend of the white woman. For every natural looking sista there's about 10 weave-wearing, face powder altering sistas that dont wanna look black. The look they emulate seems to be MORE glamorous or acceptable BY CHOICE, that's all I'm saying (and seeing)....❤🖤💚

    This video was for ME! I just recently got saved and I've been having a hard time figuring out the fine line between who i am and who God wants me to be. At the same time, i struggle with being true to myself because of the fear of judgement that i may get from the church. I'm learning more and more each day that everyone's journey is different! There's no right or wrong way to do it. All i can do is continue to ask God to walk with me and give me guidance as i light up this dark world! I really enjoyed you ladies today... keep doing what you are doing! So many young ladies need to hear what you have to say.

    This discussion is so needed. I speak to my daughter's more than ever about their self worth. My teen-age son's although they listen to these current songs, they have to have a mom's playlist to play their music in my car. I talk to them all the time about the lyrics, derogatory statements towards women and how it turns their heart posture. I can't afford to stop covering them with prayer. I have chosen to surround myself with nurturing, healthy and uplifting friends and healthy boundaries... This came from unwanted learning experiences, but I'm learning, I'm healed, and I'm pressing forward. Thank you ladies for this discussion. I am glad that I stumbled upon this in my life's journey.

    Shade room, one of the most powerful black platforms today, however runs a toxic page that doesn’t elevate positive role models, showcases Unrealistic and colorist beauty standards for black women and promotes (rather than ignore) misogynistic Black men (50, TI, Wayne etc) that disrespect Black women and their issues. Shade room can be uplifting to the black community but Unfortunately is not especially when it comes to black women. Anjelica needs to reflect deeply on the platform that she created and how it doesn’t ‘protect her/us’
