Great video! I would also say that another major difference between the US and Canada is how lax Canada seems to be with the implementation of quiet zones.
That's the LRT in Edmonton, I believe the grade crossings are regular sized lights, the small lights are often near stations as most stations are center platforms
I find that mechanical bells especially seem to be hard to find on crossings in Canada, especially on CN lines. CP is more tolerant of mechanical bells and other older equipment, while CN seems to be on a mission to replace everything with Safetran/Siemens equipment.
Absolutely wonderful video but it’s really sad that that I live on Vancouver Island and we have a rail way and we are not using it and passenger rail service stoped in 2011 and freight rail In 2015 it would make my day if the Vancouver Island railway corridor could be restored to operating condition soon

Thanks! Indeed.
Great video! I've always loved that most of these crossings are located in a scenic area.
Thanks!
Great comp! I recognize some of these crossings from older videos, and 6:15 is quite a blast from the past!
Thanks!
0:00 Audio coming from a railway crossing at Lingan Road and SPAR Road in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Love it!

That seems to be the case, at least in the east coast. In the west though, both CN and CP have been replacing equipment pretty much at the same rate.
4:32 is my favorite part! I love the crossing.
Top Video 👍
Thanks!
6:06 hey i reconise the place (yea im a montrealer)

10:48: And this railcar in a historic tram?
4:32 where is this crossing at? also can I have the full video for that?
I see you also added a few tram crossings
Some of the crossings has a major delay before the gates start to go down why is that
10:02 bad crossing/traffic pattern, a whole green cycle stuck waiting for the crossing
do you mind posting the locations please I would love to go and watch the trains myself
CSX in Canada Ok what the hell
It's the same thing as if you would see a CN or CP locomotive in the states
Nah man that’s normal that’s called foreign power. And CN and CP are a part of the USA, even before CPKC merged into existence
18:25 amtrak cascades with unit 90253 leading
I am only just now realizing Canada has the same crossing signals as USA, only difference is some of the decals and the sign.
Amtrak in Canada?
Yes, Americans not only travel to Canada by plane or car, but also travel by train
@@southerncoloradorailfannin4027 I know that I didn't know Amtrak could legally operate outside the US.
Amtrak has a couple international routes, once they cross the border it's a VIA Rail crew that takes over
i love CSX Railway
Great Vid! Just wondering, do you know where the second clip was shot at?
Thanks! ua-cam.com/video/Ai94fxwa77U/v-deo.html
10:47 trolley towing a motor
Canada should add the "Railway Crossing" crossbuck back, instead of depleting the words.
No, they should read “TRAVERSE DE CHEMIN DE FER” instead.
second crossing was slow
or is that normal?
Nice :)
Thanks!
Yep I know it
2:52 wait I’ve been there before
Rervese Railroad Crossing Canadia🇨🇦
Canadian and American railroad crossings are so similar
