Thank you for that great tutorial ❤. Just a little idea: it helped me a lot to use a stitch marker instead of holding the yarn between my fingers. Just hang the stitch marker in and remove it after making the stitch. Perhaps this idea helps other crocheters, too 😊
Thanks! I saw this stitch and thought it’d be perfect for the pot holder I’m making my mom for Christmas! Can’t find a pattern I like though so I’m going to try making one! Im also deciding what border to give her potholder! Does the inv fasten off work as normal for this stitch?
Handmade gifts are the best, made with a lot of love! 😍 I don't know if I understand your question correctly but you can fasten off like normal at the end of your project or go straight into your border if you use the same color.
It's definitely a compliment! :) Thank you for sharing this instructional video, I was able to follow along perfectly and am now looking forward to making a whole set of coasters!
thanks for this detailed tutorial, so helpful! may i know how to go about doing the fourth, fifth round? how do you know when to alternate 3 puff or 2 puff? sometimes i'm getting 5 petals, sometimes 6, and 7. it is inconsistent. may i know if you are able to tell me why? thank u~
Every round you make 1 3-puff extra in between the 2-puff stitches. The start and end is from round 2 the same for every round. So for round 4 the repeat is 3-puff, 3-puff, 3-puff and 2-puff and then round 5 will be 3-puff, 3-puff, 3-puff, 3-puff and 2-puff. Maybe this written pattern helps you out 2loopz.com/placemat-jasmine/ or check this tutorial ua-cam.com/video/Sy7A9CdwTgI/v-deo.html If I can help you with anything, let me know!
The pattern is similar to crocheting a flat disc, but instead of using sc and Vs, you're using 2 puffs and 3 puffs- each row adds another 3 puffs to each set. Just like how in a flat disc each row increases a sc before the V.
Hi, I don't have a written pattern yet. I'm working on a new pattern with this stitch and for that pattern there will be a pattern. To be continued haha...
Yes that is a possibility, try to make all your stitches the same. You can try to block your work to make it flat, sometimes that will help too. Hope it works!
You need to loosen it up a little bit when you pull your yarn through all 2 or 3 puff stitches and bring them together to finish it off. If you pull it together as tight as possible you will end up with a curved bowl shape
Try to pull the loop you held between your fingers before pulling the yarn through a bit tighter before making the slip stitch. You can also pull the slip stitch tighter before making the chain 1. I think that is the problem, hope this helps. If not, let me know!
I dont understand round 4? I think I have to do: 3 puffs, 3puffs, 3 puffs and 2 puffs? And then round 5 will be: 3 puffs, 3puffs, 3 puffs, 3 puffs and 2 puffs??
Couldn't follow, it would be helpful with diagrams explained with the walkthrough at key points in contrasting colors and magnified to a narrower field of vision.
Sorry to hear you struggle with the pattern. Maybe the other comments can be helpful or this written pattern helps you out 2loopz.com/placemat-jasmine/ or check this tutorial ua-cam.com/video/Sy7A9CdwTgI/v-deo.html
I appreciate you showing us how to do this stitch. I know you are also teaching novices, but please could you perhaps not describe the motions out loud. It's a polite request, so please don't take offence. You also have those who know the basics, like, "yarn over, pull up a loop!"
Hi, thanks for watching my video! I understand your request but it is so difficult to do it right for everyone. I try my very best, I will try to remember your comment the next time I film a video, but I can't promise I stop doing it 🙈🙃 maybe you can turn down the volume and just follow my hands and the wrritten pattern.
Just turn down the volume! Some people need it or they’ll loose track of what they’re doing. Also some people have bad vision and prefer to follow verbal instructions.
I've been intimidated by this one for a long time but it makes sense after you get through the first 1.5 rows. Just stick with it!
Good for you! 😊💙
I loved the fact you went on at the end to explain how to make this round larger thank you so much, just what I needed 😊
You're very welcome. Enjoy your day!
I just finished a pair of coaster. Enjoyed doing them. Instructions were very clear.
Thanks for sharing 😊
Good to hear! You're welcome!😊
You are a good teacher
Thank you, so kind of you!😍

@ Great! You understood perfectly! I was just asking if the invisible fasten off works for projects with this stitch!
You sound like Pooh Bear which makes learning this stitch very calming 😊
Hahaha ohhhh, never heard that before 🙈🙈🙈🤣

Haha no worries. I just crocheted around until it was the size of a trivet 😊
Thank you!
When you get the hang of it, it isn't hard. Well done!! 💕
Beautiful! Do you have a written pattern?

Mine is curving up. Do you think I’m making the stitches too tight. Looking more like a cup than a coaster.
Yes that is a possibility, try to make all your stitches the same. You can try to block your work to make it flat, sometimes that will help too. Hope it works!

How do you keep the flower centers tight? When I go into a stitch it gets stretched out.

How do you do round 4? Did you
3 (3puff &2 puff) ?
Yes! I'm also working on a pattern for placemats in this stitch, you can follow that tutorial if you like. It will be online in a couple of weeks.
I dont understand round 4?
I think I have to do: 3 puffs, 3puffs, 3 puffs and 2 puffs?
And then round 5 will be: 3 puffs, 3puffs, 3 puffs, 3 puffs and 2 puffs??
Yes! That is correct!
At the end of the row 3 my stitch count came short. No matter hos much I followed step by step step I still came short of stitches.

@lostinafieldofflowers Cool. I never thought about people with poor eyesight.
